I start tearing up whenever I hear this song because it has so much childhood nostalgia. It reminds me of my brother who left for college. I miss him. :(
I'm sorry you're missing your brother. I miss my brother, too. But it's a bit more challenging to stay positive because, although I truly believe we will all be together again someday, my big brother died in 1973. Since then, both of our parents have also died, as have all but one auntie. Now being a part of the oldest surviving generation, is really weird. My brain is still in my twenties, but somehow I've become an old lady. Value every day. Be happy. It all goes past so fast!
Ahhh the good old days. Skate boarding down the mesa to the beaches. Sitting on the beach at La Jolla or body surfing at La Jolla and Pacific Beach. Those were the ultimate summers. And the Beach Boys were the tunes of the times.
i’m fourteen. keep that in mind. people always tell me i have a bad taste for music. i listen to 1 direction and all solo, but the main point is, i listen to elvis, jimmy buffet, and the beach boys. it reminds me so much of my childhood. my grandma before she passed away always listened to the beach boys. my grandpas 80 and has been living on his own for 7 years, the music he listens to consist on elvis and jimmy buffet. i got him a 16 month elvis calendar for christmas. for the whole 14 years of my life i’ve been raised on his music. and honestly, i couldn’t ask for it differently
This song has so much nostalgia for me because it's the first song I ever danced to for the fourth of July parade years ago for the dance team I'm still on to this day
Hate to break to you…but it won’t be The Beach Boys….it is just the cousin mike love ….none of the Wilson brothers participate( two are dead) and al jardine is out also….so what you will get is a fake band…
Now look I’m 10 so I don’t listen to music much but I listen to Elvis, the Beatles, The Beach Boys, etc. so the first time I listen to this on the radio I was like “ok just a cool song about surfing” I was 9 at the time 1 year later my brother left and got married so I listened to this song this year during June somewhere and it reminded on how the years have gone by school my parents etc I love my live and hope you guys like this song too ❤love you guys!
I remember being little (probably 8) and running out to the ocean with my best friend to surf whenever we heard this song play, those were the best summers of my life. I’ll never get tired of this song. ❤
This is so cool! My daughter turns 8 on the 14th and I'm here rn because I'm putting a Playlist together for her and she chose this for a song for her dance party!
Fifth grade, my frist n Male teacher. As a break he would bust out his guitar and this was the first song introduced. Me and the homies would wrap eachothers arms together and sing our hearts away. This was a class favorite. My favorite year
I surfed most of those beaches in the late 60's to early 70's😢 The totally golden age of Surfing and California....Great Memories❤ It will NEVER be the same- Surfers Rule🇺🇸🛐 P.S. We blasted this song when we set out on our Surfing Adventures in my VW beetle!🤣
Reminds when John Smith was pulling Juliana Crain and this song was playing on John Smith car radio shows how happy America was happy and proud after World War ll
This song was put into a old movie that I watched long ago. It was called Flight Of the Navigator. Ultimate Nostalgia for me listening to it once again.
My school surfed Australia's Narrabeen.,that was mentioned in surfing USA. We all had bushy, bushy blond hair then. I still surf, only a little more south from Narrabeen. It's called Culburra beach. (Which means place of the winds).....happy surfing, God Bless
A lotta places mentioned in this song I've had the privilege of visiting. Del Mar, LA Jolla, and Redondo Beach but I was too young to remember but I've been told I was taken there.
Been listening to this song for 60 years and never understood all the lyrics! One of the great mysteries of my life solved! Next "Get Off of My Cloud" by the Stones. :-)

And nobody would steal the skateboard while you took the Mal for a walk.
One of my favorite songs from The Beach Boys!
Easily
This light melody is easy to hear and to dance; it also reminds me of my young and lonely years.
