Im really enjoying your videos Paul, you are such a fresh breeze in this vast ocean called youtube.
A small tips though.
Now i havent use that app before, but if its similar to adobe illustrator, there should be an option to "outline" your text wich basically turns your text into "shapes". The drawback is you cant edit your text anymore.
But the benefit is you can move each letter individually simulating the "kerning" adjustment (space between each letter) without having the "text editor" compress a letter box automatically to unwanted results.
In this case, the word WATER looks good after your adjustements, but if you look closely it compressed the "A".
So moving each letter after converting them into shapes instead will give a subtle but noticable improvement.
But regardless, you and your videos are truly amazing. You are an inspiration man. 👍🏼

Great design tips. Learned a couple new things. The design process is very interesting. Would be interested in seeing more of how you decide which glass techniques you decide to apply to which graphic elements, if that makes sense. Thanks for sharing!

Great video Paul! I’m happy (no pun intended) that one thing I HAVE been doing, related to the craft, it messing about with fonts. A lot!
Using Affinity Designer, I generally have been converting the text to curves and ungrouping. That way I can manipulate and add nodes to achieve the look I want. For example, taking the word “water” and creating drips off the letters.
Really liked the bit on adding the stroke for visual separation! “Mirosa” has a lot of glyphs and it can be messy if you go nuts with it. I’ll have to share some stuff on Facebook soon.

@@happygilder Perpetually stubborn about chipping my first piece. I have been perfecting/vectorizing that round table mirror with the spades design. ♠️ You saw the raster mock up long ago.

Hi Paul, Thanks so much for sharing all your wonderful tips and tricks. I'm a stained glass artist in Australia and have started delving into some gilding. I was wondering if you could share your preferred paint brand for screen printing onto glass. I'm trying to make clock faces, so I want to screen print onto the glass face then gild. Thanks Paul. Thanks David! I use Nazdar Black screen printing ink. It's really thick so I mix it with a little white spirit and a bit of One Shot hardener
