Drivers like Donald are the reason why I fell in love with trucks I never drove class A I couldn't pass the physical because of my eye sight Donald is spot on I lived in Orange County California so I'd drive out to Ontario California to the only two truck stop's that were close to me the TA and the 76 Auto Truck Plaza just to watch trucks and listen to drivers talk and tell stories
In this world, that seems to just be so ugly, it is so refreshing to hear a beautiful interview. Chris, the driver's feel the your care and respect you have for them. That draws out the good in somebody and that's why your interviews are so sincere and from the heart. Donald is one of those old school drivers that still have so much care and respect that we can learn so much from. Keep up the beautiful interviews!!!

In Calif our poor drivers are having to jump through so much red tape! And now they have to jump with late model trucks that have no personality and no power and certainly no lasting qualities but then again either do the new drivers! I agree with him on soooooo many points, but especially on drivers waiting until the last possible second to cut in front because of a lane closure in construction zones. Drives me crazy.
Another fantastic video. Conversation on point. If ever you wanted to open a truckstop this has all the pointers. I can identify with the lack of CB's on the road. I will certainly be adding one to mine in a few months..
Just added a CB in mine, and I gotta say it's been invaluable already. Much safer and easier to call ahead to find out what a hold up is caused by, how long it might take, etc. Looking on your phone is comparatively dangerous, and a terrible idea in any sort of traffic. Bad idea anytime you're behind the wheel TBH, but especially in trucks. CB's also remind me of the good old days driving with my Dad, listening to the truckers and their old stories. Man, those drivers sure had a sense of humor! You can still find them out there, but unfortunately they're getting more and more rare. What a shame. I really don't want to see a time where Electric vehicles are all over, cars and trucks drive themselves, and everything is so soulless and passionless. Hope I'm gone before then.
@@littlesteve855 nice. Great way to keep in touch, as long as you have the range! I was hearing truckers from all the way in Atlanta from where I was in the East Texas area. My budget CB in my Dodge wasn't anywhere near powerful to reach that far, but the incoming was clear as crystal. I can only guess what setup that guy had! The distance was around 690 miles according to Google maps. Pretty incredible for a mobile unit.
@@littlesteve855 dude, go for it! It'd be awesome to hear the airways more active. So few people use them these days, it'd probably make for a good alternative to social media lol. Get to know the locals and regulars. From what I heard, back in the 70's through the 90's it was a big source of social life on the road. Wish I'd been able to experience those times...

That truck driver talk about the old time back in them days I remember them good old days and it's a possibility already crossed him one time Somewhere Out There and he was right about people not talkin on CB anymore and everything else he was saying he was right and I don't know if he remembers out there at Ontario California at the truck stop TA used to be there was a guy set out there parked his truck at the curb looking at the interstate he had a single I cannot remember the make of his truck he had single cab convention and later on it was in the magazine but double single bunk on it and I kick my butt because I did not pick up that magazine I'm thinking the truck was red but that been so many years ago

Hi I’d like to start off saying thank you to Chris for these videos thank you for the driver for his advice and his beautiful truck I am at 53Year old Man that had a long life dream of being a trucker. In 1989 I went to truck driving school fail it badly so to try again was going to cost me double and that was not an option with a wife and a child so I went to work at jobs that I hated, back in 1998 October 8 I got into a bad accident crashed my left leg The bones went through my skin for 2 1/2 years doctors were threaten to cut my left leg off back then it was a big ordeal for me. Today I feel great I managed to keep my leg and the leg is working well with very minimal pain compared to the pain I used to get. I’ve been out of work now for 23 years so I have a Applied to the first nation in Ottawa Ontario Canada for a grant to go to school and get my( A.Z )license which in the US is an equivalent to(CDL) and the good news is that I have been excepted funding from the first nation of Canada I start on campus truck driving school March 14, 2022 and I am so excited any other advice from other truckers would be greatly appreciated I am leaving my email address rouleaupete38@gmail.com and where I flying going back to truck driving school is a lot better today than it was back then because today you can’t fail because if you fail the school failed you and the school don’t want that
