  • Everyone loves a good party or celebration! But, before you release the balloons into the air, you should think to yourself, where does it land? Well, that presents an environmental hazard for the eastern portion of San Diego County.

    I used to work for U.S. Forest Service Descanso Station in 1987.
    Balloon landed at the station. It got a note saying came from school in Point Loma.. They do travel and trash the wilderness

    Foil balloons are awesome you can literally sit on them and they won't pop

    Thank you for posting and doing a story about this litter! Here is the petition to ban the sale of helium filled balloons that litter the desert, ocean, harm wildlife, cause power outages/fires, and use up the finite resource helium. www.change.org/banmylarballoons
