I just ordered this little chainsaw using your link, and at an awesome price! Looking forward to making lighter work while trimming around my yard. Wow. Thanks, Cris, Bill and Tomyvic!
So cool. I hope you get loads of use out of it. When I took off the sprocket cover to put the chain back on, it didn't take many turns to remove the nut that holds on the sprocket cover. Please check to be sure that nut is tight on yours when you receive it. It is something I didn't think to check beforehand. Bill and I both wonder if that helped make it possible for the chain to come off the bar. I only mention this because I want you to have the best possible experience.
Nice to have your puppy dog help with clean up. Looks like a nice saw. I see a lot of overlanders carry electric chain saw to clear trailers from fallen tree. Will look into it. Thanks for your review.
🙂 Skadi pup is a good little helper. She carries the limbs all over the yard. 😄 I am very pleased with the little saw. It does a good job and is holding up well. Thank you for watching.
A great review! I didn't know anything like this little chainsaw existed. I like that it comes with two batteries and spare chain, plus all the extras. Watching you work with it makes it more approachable to those of us with less muscle. And great engineering on replacing the chain!
Thank you kindly. I, too, didn't know that mini battery-powered chainsaws were a thing until Tomy Vic contacted us. It is a nice little starter kit. I will get so much use out of it, and agree that the spare chain and two batteries are definitely perks!
I bought this about two months ago to clear an area for a garage. Up to 5 inch oaks. I have beat the crap out of this thing figuring I would just kill it. It is still going and it is time to replace the blade. For the money it is great. Keep the blade tight it loosens easily.
This is awesome! Thank you so much for sharing. Yes, I too have noticed that the chain tends to loosen with use, and I tightened it along the way. On ours, after I removed the sprocket cover, replaced the chain, and tightened everything back up, the chain didn't loosen as quickly as it had initially. Maybe there is a chain break-in period. The nut that holds on the sprocket cover was not on tightly (from "the factory") when I went to put the chain back on. Wondering if that may have also made it easier for the chain to come off the bar when it became wedged in the wood during use.

@@wobblyotteroutdoors Will do. Just did a screenshot of your advice and will definitely follow through. Thank you both!
Awesomeness!
We always enjoy your videos! Hope you & your husband are doing well.
Awww. We appreciate that so much. We are doing well. Thank you for checking.
That’s some hard wood there!
True that!

So when the chain they just want you to replace it instead of sharpening it?
Their user manual does not address sharpening. Seems like sharpening would be an acceptable option.
I bought one of these and the only thing I don't like is that the chain keeps spinning after release. For safety this is not good.
I know what you mean. I try to be super mindful when using it. Fortunately, it's light weight makes it easy to control. That is so helpful.
I returned this and Tomy Vic said they have a new one with the chain brake. Bought the new model (it's GREEN) So much safer.
@Menozification, that is wonderful to hear. Thank you so much for sharing.
The TommyVic chainsaw works very well
Wonderful. I too have been pleased and pleasantly surprised by this small, workhorse chainsaw.
