  • Today on Chasing Legends of the Superstition Mountains, Wayne Tuttle discusses the theory and history surrounding the Silver Chief Mine, and why it cannot be the Lost Dutchman Mine.
The Superstition Mountains are located in Apache Junction, Arizona. Within the wilderness, the Lost Dutchman Mine has remained hidden, with up to $200 million in gold. Wayne Tuttle, Frank Augustine, Woody Wampler, Eric Deleel, and Eric Magnuson set out into the Superstition Mountains on History Channel’s Legend of the Superstition Mountains to search for the infamous gold mine in 2015. Growing restless waiting for a second season, Wayne and Frank decided to continue their search in the Superstition Mountains on RUclips, filming videos of their treks into the mountains. The team now engages in treasure hunting and gold prospecting in the Superstition Mountains, searching for Ted DeGrazia’s lost paintings and investigating strange stories and mysteries of the Superstition Mountains.

Cant wait to watch this silver chief mine informatiob saved to the top of my must watch asap playlist. My grandma got kidney poisoning working the silver king mine she had to pee every 10 minutes and was chastized to an early death for it.

Beat information, Wayne. Ah, ha... now I understand why you were so dismissive of Ted Cox in previous episodes. I also better understand why you don't believe much about the Pit Mine being Jacob's mine. One quick question, if you please, sir: you said that Jack Carlson went up there and found a "Dactyl" generator. What the heck is that? I think I must have misunderstood you because I can't find anything like that on the Internet. Thanks, Wayne. You are The Legend! #StayAwesome

I watched it over and over and have no idea. I must have been going to say something and changed it to the generator. I was trying hard to keep some things out of the story. Maybe someday I will feel the whole story could be told

Thanks Wayne! Excellent! In your opinion Waltz likely covered his mine and went to great efforts to close and cover it? Is that just legend or did he state that to Rhiney and Julia etc.

I always wondered if Waltz was claim jumping. It never made sense to me how he filed claims in the Bradshaw's but nothing for one of the richest mine in Arizona history?

This guy could be an interesting presenter if he would just get on with it and tell whatever he's telling about. His pattern (and I've watched lots of his videos) is that he has some nuggets of good/interesting content but he intersperses it with voluminous mounds of self-aggrandizing horses**t. He seems to want to impress upon the viewer how much of a dutch hunter boss he is and how he went everywhere and saw everything decades before anyone else. I find myself skipping forward a lot. I wish I could give this guy some genuinely heartfelt constructive criticism because he has a likeability factor and I want his videos to be good. Also he should get the mole above his left eyelid checked for skin cancer.

Well that was a lot to digest. No skin cancer. I will try to do better on the nuggets. I thought I did pretty good since it’s the truth and I do it off the top of my head. I will try to improve, but you know….old dogs and tricks

@@legendofthesuperstitionmou969 Thanks for taking my constructive criticism in the spirit it was intended. A lot of people get raw about it. Just remember to be concise and stick to the thread. Just give us the watermelon and cut out all the seeds. 😛 I hope your channel remains successful. You are a wealth of information. 👍

you got that wrong Wayne the Hoya is a funnel shape with the wide end upward , the LDM is a short pit shaft about 14ft deep ...the vein runs about 6 ft down from the top of the shaft on the west wall and runs downward at about a 35 - 38 Degree angle it runs about 1700 ft in one direction and about 7 1/2 mile in another direction ..,it may go beyond that but i was by myself and a long ways from the nearest road or trail ...if you find a trail out there it will be a game trail ...i ran out of water 3 times going out there .. it was dark all 3 times when i got back ...
