    So crazy to see Rodgers leave the Pack the same way Favre did.

    • @4seth
      @4seth Год назад +26

      It's not the same, and it's important that people understand this because it's something I am hearing a lot. Favre left feeling like he was entitled to stay, and the breakup was much uglier. Favre would spend much more time in the offseason contemplating a decision; retiring, un-retiring, etc.
      Rodgers left trying to make the situation work and only left when it stopped working. Oddly, and I'll never understand this, but Packers fans had a much harder time accepting the team allowing Favre to leave than Rodgers. The fans literally protested Favre's departure at a shareholder's meeting. This is baffling to me because Rodgers is maybe the greatest quarterback of all time, and Favre handed out interceptions like candy on Halloween.

    • @4seth
      @4seth Год назад +6

      @The Rotten💯 I disagree. I think it primarily has to do with personality. I think Wisconsinites understand and relate to Favre a little bit more. It's unfortunate.
      It's true that Favre is kind of viewed as a savior, and maybe rightfully so. But Wisconsinites are simple people, like Favre.

    Rodgers injured his thumb last year and had the worst season of his career. Yet, Rodgers numbers from last year would have easily gotten the Jets to the playoffs. The Jets are not only getting Rodgers but they are getting Rodgers with a big chip on his shoulder. On top of that the Jets defense will be one of the best in football.

    • @tommyboy1971
      @tommyboy1971 Год назад +12

      Chip on his shoulder? That chip is just Rodgers being himself. By the way, I read all the same stuff when Favre went to the Jets. The Jets didn't make the playoffs, and two seasons later, the Packers were Super Bowl Champs. I wish Rodgers the best, but if you think his worst season ever was due to a bad thumb, let's hope history doesn't repeat itself and an injury to an ex-Packer costs the Jets another playoff run. So glad he's your problem now.

Gave away their 2nd this year, basically can just say they traded a 2nd this year for Aaron, then traded 6th to move up with a 5th round pick, now if Rodgers do what he’s suppose too, that 2nd turned 1st would be a low pick in the 1st round and still have all their picks, all parties so far won the trade, Jets didn’t give up much, Packers wanted to move on towards going forward, Rodgers don’t have a deal with the organization anymore.

    This is a good trade for both teams. Packers start anew, get two pretty decent draft picks. While the Jets have a Superbowl window that lasts at least 1 year, and possibly 2-3 years. Of course those draft picks could be amazing… like Sauce Gardener or Breece Hall, or Garrett Wilson. But the Jets feel as though they are basically only a QB away from competing for a Superbowl. And they feel their roster is good enough to lose 2 premium picks for that chance.

    • @RonniePTexan
      @RonniePTexan Год назад +1

      Jets really only gave up one premium pick. The first round pick this year is just swapping #13 for #15, so the Jets just dropped back two slots.

    • @RonniePTexan
      @RonniePTexan Год назад

      @@erichall3090 Super Bowl is hard to predict, even for the Chiefs. But if the Jets make the playoffs for the first time in 12-13 years, and win a playoff game or two, the trade will be successful for them. And if Aaron Rodgers comes back and ends up playing for 2-3 years, then a Super Bowl win will be easier to predict for them. The Packers, I don't know if they'll even make the playoffs. If Jordan Love does well, and keeps improving, then a playoff prediction in the next 2-3 years would be possible.

      @zdr7420 Год назад +4

      @@jujubucks12 sure, there may be some games that he didn't play his best but that is hardly indicative of him being the sole reason of their playoff losses. Let's not forget about how a terrible play call by the Packers defense allowed for a half ending TD against TB, pushing the score to 21-10 at halftime. Rodgers still threw two more TDs in that game. Let's not forget how there was only 5 minutes left in the game against Seattle when Wilson threw his 4th INT. And from there, McCarthy's ultra conservative play calling allowed for Seattle to climb back into the game. And also the infamous botch onside recovery. Even look at the most recent playoff loss to SF. Yes Rodgers played subpar, but they could have still very much won the game if special teams was even somewhat competent.
