Yamcha is actually one of the most OP assist characters in this game by a lot bc of Taunt. Makes enemies target him (and when enemies aren't targeting you, almost all of your attacks make them flinch. P. much free wins)

Sooo many DBZ biased channels make this game sound like game of the year material. Glad a DBZ fan actually delivered an unbiased game review. Graphics are pretty, but this game is an easy pass for me, at least until I can get it for cheap.

Just finished listening to Oney feeling a bit shocked in a concerned way over you recreating his dragonzball peepee animation.
Because it was unoriginal, un asked for and not condoned by the original creator of the content. Seems like a misstep to do a live action skit of someone's work, credit them, but not say a word to them. I'd be annoyed if I was Oney too because no doubt he found out through the grapevine insteax of directly from Joe.

It's like why would you do that?. It makes no sense. It's something kids would do. When me and my friends were in a school trip in highschool, around 15 years ago, we made a short video referncing a line from a Sick Animation cartoon (the mom whispering to her sleeping son "Osama bin Laden" in "Pen Pal". We did it with the kid which was assigned to our room, he was sleeping and had no idea.). Even as stupid as we were, we didn't think to recreate an entire cartoon live, nor would we think to use this video for anything except our own entertainment, as obviously no one else would find it funny.

The gameboy DBZ trilogy were actually pretty awesome taking scenes from the anime and fitting it into the small view is really still unmatched.

@@DISTR4CK It's far too easy to the point of being extremely boring. I had to add a difficulty patch to it to make the game much more than difficult, because otherwise it's rather boring. The second game had a much better difficulty curve and that alone makes it better.

This game is more like 4/10 and the previous DB games are more like 2-3/10.
As an RPG compared to the likes of Skyrim, this is 0/10, graphics in 2020 are 1/10, voicing 1/10, mechanics 1/10 etc. It just sucks.

I don’t know if it’s too much to ask, but with it being called Kakarot, I wish we got Goku’s ENTIRE story. From Dragonball to Super. Hell, even throw in GT or at least the villains from there.
GT is not canon story anymore.

I thought it would too and sorry but GT is Canon to me more Canon than Super and that heroes crap. Super Sayin Blue is the lazy as hell they came up with it cause it's easier to draw than super Saiyan 3 and 4. GT never destroyed Canon and retcon everything in dbz and Dragonball
Sharonne Jones I also prefer aspects of GT over Super. While GT to me, was an overall missed opportunity, it still did somewhat capture the essence of what Dragonball is. The first arc is horrible, Super 17 Saga is bad, but the Baby Saga and Shadow Dragon Saga are good to me. I haven’t found any ounce of enjoyment in Super. If I got to choose what was canon, I’d choose GT

Xenoverse 2 style with all the customization, db to z to super, FULL voice acting through the entire game, and every episode that wasn’t filler in the game. But we all know they’ll never make a game like that

gamefly... but i gues you played enough now.. and u gots to be disapointed.. soo many chunks deleted.. so many grinding. its basically DBZ:GOHAN. and yea youre gonan play it alot because u spend money on it.. if you gamefly..like i did. im like fk this game. and i grinded hella hard and quit after after mecha Freiza vs trunks because they took out soo many chunks of that.. and that was one of the best TRunks moments ever.. that sequence took 2 mins.. no talking, no fighting his men.. no king cold talking to trunks, no frieza doing his talking. and 3 attacks etc.. an the dbz fighters didnt see him kill freiza on top of that lol.. and nO GOKU 1 FINGER VS TRUNKS SWORD.. a 2020 game? MAN FK THAT SHIT.

@@xmenrock2000 I checked a number of Dragonball Wikia and Kanzenshuu. From what I've read, at one point Toriyama stated zeni/zenni are equivalent to one JPY. It is also stated in a more recent Dragonball work that zeni/zenni are equivalent to 1.5 JPY.

the money goes up depending on your progress in the game. You get more zenni each time you make that wish in the game.
I'd like to see a game like this set in the time of Dragonball up to Z, open world with plenty of quests as Goku travelled the world training for the tournaments with and without the Flying Nimbus depending on the point of the story you're at.

I have to say I played it on the pc version and most of the complaints AJ has are non existent, the character graphics are amazing, loading times with my ssd can take of avg 7 seconds from area to are and black screens never happened to me, it must be a console problem.
Anyways pc version is the way to go
@@GoodGGame6 Most of the surrounding are just bland to look at+low texture..they clearly show some examples on the video. I would say the open world aspect of this game is almost horrible, I would rather just go straight to the objectives most of the time. If this is just another random game that isn't dbz..I wouldn't even play and finished it. The side quests are boring...so does the exploration. Joe gave valid reasons for it being a 6/10. The fighting (which will get repititive at one point), the flashy effects, and the name "Dragonball" saves the game from being worse tbh.

@@xavierpeterson7139 Dbz does buil up gohan but the focus of 90% of the show is on Goku. Saiyan and Freiza is goku focused with one or two gohan moments hinting at his potential. Then after cell it was split between all the saiyans on taking down the big bad.

Mike W It wasn’t bad, but definitely could have been much much better. I think Bandai Namco has to keep pumping out DBZ games every 2 years due to some sort of contracts...otherwise they lose the right or something. That’s why we end up with this fatigue of mediocre DBZ games.

@@gaminggoof1542 Xenoverse games have a different appeal, the combat system is a lot better, character customisation is more in-depth and so on. The story though? Uhhh well, I guess that depends on your interpretation. It's original, sure but it's a bit basic. Bad guy does bad guy timey things! Quick, Avengers assemble! The End. Basically. There's nothing to do in free roam, really. Also it's filled with a lot of tedious grinds for gear pieces and zeni, that the temptation to use cheesy exploits or just straight up cheat is incredibly high.
Kakarot is the complete flip of that. The story mode presentation and execution is top notch. Free roam is filled with landscapes, secrets to plunder and villages dotted around with side quests and traders and so on. The class coin thing is kind of a love it or hate it kind of deal and honestly you can go through the whole game ignoring it entirely with little to no impact.
Kakarots combat system though is incredibly basic and very, very repetitive. The amount of trash enemies the game throws at you are ridiculous and the actual important fights tend to be over rather quickly and anticlimactically.
Game's allright. It's a visual marvel, you can spend hours exploring the worlds and so on but the lackluster combat system, bizarre skill tree and lack of depth to the worlds you explore keep it from being better than just "okay".

Kakarot is more a game for hardcore fans, where they can gush over all the tiny details the devs put in the game. That's cool but it's stuff that the average gamer really wouldn't care about x)

Joe doesn't get paid for reviews, I've seen paid reviews, like when Sseth did a paid review for some shitty MMORPG and made a comedy out of it, or when people say shit like "sponsored by raid shadow legends/whatever game", plus if he really was getting paid, he'd always give neutral or positive ratings so to not upset the people that could give him sponsorships, invites, or any other benefits by sucking up to the games
Also, mainstream opinion, I'd disagree with that too, we all tend to follow the mainstream opinion at least for a few things, it'd be silly for me or you to claim our opinions have never aligned with the mainstream
Also, I get your problem with the rating he gave Skyrim; It's a bad TES game the same way Fallout 4 is a bad Fallout game, obviously not as a bad of a TES game compared to how bad of a Fallout game F4 is but still not very good (And Skyrim is also a better game overall) They half-assed a power fantasy character, so it's stuck between a blank slate character, and a super-powerful one, thus the roleplaying side suffers because of it, and so does the combat and character, you don't get nearly as customizable and blank slate to make your own character like in Morrowind or Fallout New Vegas, and neither do you get anywhere near as powerful/flashy as you would in a superhero game or a god of war type game that fulfills a power fantasy properly, so it sits in an awkward state; The open world also suffers from many a repeated dungeon, quests, encounters, etc, compared to games with far more variety in quests and encounters like certain CRPGs such as Pathfinder Kingmaker; And like I said, since it's a half-assed power fantasy, half-blank slate, the roleplaying does not compare to good blank slate CRPGs, or a game like Fallout New Vegas, at least it's better than Fallout 4 though, dialogue/roleplaying wise, though that's not a very high bar either
Despite all these issues though that you could keep on listing, I think for the average person, especially the type who had never played an RPG before, it was a big, new fresh feeling to explore this huge world and do all these things, especially considering how beautiful and grand it seemed at the time for many, ESPECIALLY when seeing the bleak falls barrow from the distance, looking from Riverwood; When you're already knowledgable about RPGs and Skyrim you understand it's nowhere near as grand as it seems (Once you've seen a dwemer dungeon, you've seen them all, once you've seen one Draugr dungeon you've seen them all, etc, recycled spammed content, along with the auto-generated quests which wouldn't be so bad if they had more variety since they add more gameplay after you've done everything else) But the combination of the cool dragon shit, the shouts, the viking stuff, open world, graphics, first person, able to go anywhere you want instead of being forced to follow the main quest the whole time, the HUGE modding scene one of the biggest in gaming that makes the game worth playing at all for experienced RPG players that see Skyrim vanilla not worth playing, etc, it makes the game for most people, a damn fun experience, especially if they're playing for their first time like I said, and it being baby's first big RPG, even despite its flaws like the awful basic melee combat, the inferior spell system that doesn't even have spellmaking! What a missed opportunity... (Thankfully we got mods to fix that, which is a huge appeal of the game, few modding scenes like in Bethesda games)
I hope I was able to properly explain why people like Skyrim, I personally wouldn't touch Skyrim ANYMORE (Obviously did like and play it a lot once) because modded Skyrim feels more like a looter shooter RPG kinda like borderlands 2 just with more roleplaying and not as linear, and I'd rather play a proper RPG or CRPG instead of a slasher/looter shooter/roguelike feeling type game

And then after that, instead of needing to get close to death, you have characters like Hit and Caulifla who just need to fight someone stronger than them in order to get exponentially more powerful for basically no reason.

My experience with the game: having alot of fun, fought some baddies, progressed and grew some levels. Ran around at high speed, accidentally ran through a wall of a cave. Can't get out of the cave. Reload the game to find out it auto-saved in the cave I am stuck in..

No not really. The lowest tier of cutscene consistently lacks contextual music and has almost no atmospheric sound effects either. Damn shame that's all the voice talent had to work with.
