Although I like how it works, I do not like having to activate every time I turn my truck on, it should remember the setting from the last ignition cycle. I’ve removed it because of that issue. I have better things to do than remembering to connect to it 3 or more times a day to use it.
@ricknielson8934 we hear you. Personally, as an anti-advocate for stop-start features on vehicles because of the obvious elephant in the room of a few cents of fuel burn vs a $800 starter replacement every other year as that vehicle ages.. I would certainly be right there with you. However, while not trying to convince you otherwise, but i do have some light I can shed on the subject for you. The Pedal Monster currently is setup that way through the app, which means its not a hardware solution, but a change in how the app operates. That being said, the Pedal Monster as you know connects via Bluetooth, once the vehicle is powered down, even with Bluetooth 3.0 -- past 60-65 ft its going to drop the connection. Because of the ignition sensing, it needs to see the vehicle running before connecting and activating through the app through a manual confirmation/feedback is how the app is currently setup. I have been told this could change, and I think like-minded folks like yourself should also be contacting BANKS directly and voting with you dollars as they say to sway that features function to recognize the phone/device automatically for convenience. Outside of the app not enabling Bluetooth auto connecting due to confirmation feedback as a safety concern (not of an issue we're aware of at this time), the other perspective I would raise is this. If in general, you're satisfied with the overall throttle response and/or performance offerings on your daily grind. Having the Pedal Monster in place, activating it when or if you wanted "more control" over how your vehicle performs would still be a plus considering that you currently are at ease with a stock vehicle (?).. just food for thought. We hope that provided some insight, as I stated, that's an app feature [software] that can change in an update, especially if BANKS patrons start voicing their opinion on the matter directly. And not a hardware fix/replacement. ~~ 12° North Team
I tried to install the Pedal Monster to my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL and after I installed everything the dashboard said " Ignition or accessory on" and would keep beeping and wouldn't let me move past this step to set up the Pedal Monster on my phone. Any suggestions to solve this problem. Thanks!
Hello Jerry, as a 12volt specialist, I can surmise some electrical frustrations, especially under the I/P [Instrument Panel/Dash]. My off the cuff recommendation if you had just installed the app would have been to close out the app completely, and give the phone a quick restart. Sometimes fresh app installs of that caliber may need that to properly engage some digital protocols and work properly, then go back through the install setup.. Assuming you may have done that since, if you are still having problems, you can contact us by phone for additional help or contact Banks directly > selecting 4 for their tech support dept. Let us all know either way. ~~ 12° North Team
