Lost 2 conger last night. Similar spot Hooks pulled Any tips on when to lift into them? I could feel it shaking its head and pulling down then nothing. The 2nd one was a lot stronger than the first and got me into the rocks, hook pulled after 10min wrestle with it. Good videos keep them coming
I've had more success on very short pully rigs for conger they fish alot better than long ones I like them anchored down on the sea bed. Plus it stops eels from spinning your trace witch is what has happened with longer traces.

Just wait till the rod propper bows over and hit them!
Why a short pulley rig? Is that personal preference? Seen other people with 8 foot long up and overs, cheers.
