I hope you like the different ruffle techniques. Do you have a favourite out of the three cutters? I love them all, but I do love the effect with the petal cutter!
Been wanting to learn how to make ruffles so thankyou so much my lovely xxx this has been another fabulous tuturiol, learning so much from you xx great to see different styles of ruffles too. Going to give them a go xx
Thank you so much for sharing can you please tell me why does fondant on top of the cake gets really sticky and gooey is it because of temperature or what please help me
Hi Zainub, There are a few possible reasons. Fondant can get sticky if it gets too hot. Also are you putting your cake in the fridge? This can also sometimes be the reason as if it's quite warm where you live the cake gets very cold in the fridge and the change in temperature when you bring it out causes condensation to form which can make fondant go quite sticky and wet. If possible try and keep the cake in a cool dry place which will help.
Can I do that without covering my cake in fondant? I mean, just put the ruffles directly on the buttercream icing? Thanks a lot for all your videos, they are amazing!
Hi Zule, Yes you could just add them to buttercream, but sometimes there can be little gaps between the ruffles, so by adding fondant on first in the same colour you don't notice if there are any gaps, but its entirely up to you which you prefer.
Love this video, so helpful, thank you so much! I have a couple of questions: a friend has asked for a cake for her daughter’s birthday, with these ruffles. If I have to deliver the cake on Sunday, so given the time it takes to make all the ruffles, can I prepare these ruffles in advance and only decorate the cake on Sunday morning (the ruffles would have dried by then), or do I need to attach them to the cake right away (before the ruffles dry), in which case, can I decorate on Saturday and keep the finished cake in the fridge with all the fondant (or will the fondant sweat)?
Hi Lynz I need to make these to be assembled on a cake in india. Can they be made in advance? I guess they’ll have to be manipulated before they dry? Would it hold up in humidity? Love this technique. Thank you for sharing
Hiii. Is it okayy for the cake to be coated with normal buttercream instead of fondant coating? I wonder if the fondant will become tooo sticky as it might absord water from bc. Hope you can replyyy ❤️
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤hi my dear Do we have to place the ruffles on the fondant cake ? I want to make cake with cream Can I place the ruffles on it ? Thank you so much ❤
How many inches have the cake? If I want with circle cutter, I have to cut more than 400 circles to complete the video's cake, 3 hours of work but it will look beautiful! It's for a 15 birthday cake (8 inches).
This is so helpful thank you. I love the fact that you've added the details about how many you use and how long it took you for each section. Very helpful
Hi lovely, I’m hoping you can help me with something! When applying the ruffles to the cake should the fondant (on the actual cake) be soft or firm? I have a huge tier to decorate in ruffles and just wondering whether I should let it dry first or just get going with the ruffles as soon as I’ve covered the cake? 💗
@@klerdalli Hi Claire, I covered my cake in fondant one day and let it harden then I attached the ruffles the day after. I cut out small batches of ruffles, covered with cling film to keep them from hardening/cracking and then applied them batch by batch. It took a while but the outcome was worth the hours! Good luck with your cake, I'm sure it will look amazing :)
Hiya Lynz, am going to try making the ruffles using the circular cutter, on my granddaughter's 18th birthday cake so wish me luck as this is the first time I've used this technique !!!!! Am a bit nervous in case it doesn't look right, but feel more confident now I have watched your tutorial, if it looks as good as yours I will be very very happy X Thankyou so much for sharing . 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Great video! Your instructions are clear and easy to understand. I am new to using fondant and have a question…can you use fondant with buttercream frosted cakes, another words, will fondant adhere to buttercream frosting. Your response would be appreciated. Ty!
I am so glad you like them all, thank you. The petal cutter definitely gives a slightly different effect to the regular ruffles. It did take a little longer, but it looked so pretty.
