I sacrificed everything I loved, I had a choice, stay and die or leave and live, after 18 years of marriage and 3 kids I left because I didn't want my kids to grow up without a mother like I did, she drank herself to death when I was only 3 months old. I still deal with the PTSD from the mental and emotional abuse but I'm alive and I'm happy. We've been divorced for 25 years now but we are still a strong family unit and for that I am so grateful. Never give up, be brave, be strong.

I was told once that one should never burn bridges unless they know how to swim. This song hit home with what’s going on between me and my daughter. I cried the first 10 times I listened to this song. She’s in a very toxic relationship. They have my grandson who is 17 months old, and another baby one on the way. When she needs help, I’ve always been here for her. But she won’t let go to the things that bring her down. They just recently broke ties with me altogether. It’s a long story, but they’re keeping my grandson from me. That’s how much influence he has on her. I had to let her go. 😢
I also want to say thank you for, “Lead Me On.” I listen to it again and again…sometimes it’s about me…but, mostly I can only hear the strength I feel having sent both my sons off to college this year…and I am comforted knowing the river will lead them on!! So, thank you!
