Am I the only one who thought she got gradually hotter through series 6 & 7? Like, she swapped the skirts for jeans but there's a difference between revealing and sexy.
@@alexpotts6520 she definitely received a personality glow-up. Amy was written like a snarky teenager at first but this didn’t really work for Karen Gillan, so she became smarter, funnier and more assertive. I’d agree that she blossomed into a more substantive character. It’s very telling that Moffat and Chibnall both wrote in an excuse for skimpy outfits - they obviously didn’t have much faith in either the actress or the audience.

Wow two reviews in one day. I can't believe he gave this episode a lower score than the Timeless Children!!!
The thing about the timeless children is that in a vacuum the episode is simply a below average episode, but the episode does not exist in a vacuum but as part of a 50 year long series, thus the episode is not the worst episode, but definitely my most hated episode.
@@andrewmanchiraju8005 I'd argue that even without the context of the rest of the show, The Timeless Children also simply just fails as a standalone. Most of it is exposition and the rest is just running away from and fighting Cybermen and it has a completely unapologetic deus ex machina ending that actually creates a plot hole in itself. There's barely anything redeemable about it.
Yeah, this episode was pretty shocking as well. A shame given that the Silurians were an excellent antagonist in their debut story.

5:21 Doctor Who often uses the same locations, even the same rooms. Apart from The End of the World, Cardiff's Temple of Peace features in Gridlock and The Fires of Pompeii, and will be used again in Let's Kill Hitler.
Is it budget or just laziness?
@@nifralo2752 It's pragmatism and practicality, certainly not laziness. There are only so many locations in and around the Cardiff area with whom the BBC have permission to film and/or are suitable to film in. There are countless instances of the same locations being reused in Doctor Who, going all the way back to the Troughton era or even earlier.

She also pretty much had to grow up alone because the crack in her wall ate her parents so I wasn't surprised by her being a delinquent

Yeah that was slightly embarrassing from Harry. It doesn't sound anything like "get some sleep" and the subtitles would've answered it for him.
Little did we know that these episodes would just be a taste of what seasons 11and 12 would be.
Yeah, that whole 'you're not the best of humanity!' thing is so much more eye roll inducing when you know that hating on the human race is his entire schtick, the only thing he can write about and does so every single episode. It gets old.
And somehow, I think this two-parter is still Chibnal's best work on the series
What irked me was during the end montage of Amy's memories of Rory, we revisit the clip of him being shot (from about 3 minutes ago) but the special effect of the gun is now removed. So it's just Rory really awkwardly screaming and collapsing without any sign of something hurting him. Felt like it wasn't proof-checked by anyone who cared.

Hmmm. I think you were a little harsh to these episodes; they're not the best, I'm not a fan of it because it's based in another bloody village that Series 5 seemed to revolve around in a lot of episodes. But it's pretty much silver to the crap Chibnall does as showrunner.
I'm glad you didn't focus on Ambrose's betrayal too much. For me, she's the worse character in this double take. I wish they just execute her.
However with the ending you said you don't understand how The Doctor remembers Rory, he's a time lord and has a memory that moves in ways the human mind could never comprehend. As for Amy, Rory is interwoven with her time stream so the crack is snipping those lines however as the Doctor tries to help her, he says that she could hang on to the memories of Rory but would have to concentrate but she never could with the TARDIS's turbulence.
Lastly, you said why didn't they try to get Rory into the TARDIS but I think they were more distracted trying to keep Rory alive and The Doctor didn't know that the crack's energy could spill out as it did to grab Rory's leg the way it did.

with the your point at the end when you had a problem with the fact the Doctor knows what happens when someone is erased from history kind of rubbed me the wrong way. He is a timelord (obviously ignoring Chris Chibnall's shit show) after all, I would assume that when your training to be a timelord you would be taught what would happen if you take things out of the timeline/existence and especially the consequence when its your own personal time line. I know you don't like Matt smiths area and I may be a bit bias but this in no way ruined my viewing experience. anyway still liked the video overall and love your work.

This two parter is one of the Episodes i happily forget to watch when binging Doctor Who. I have seen it s a total of 1 and 1/4 times and i never will again

Having just rewatched these two episodes, agreed....these were such a snore fest and it just felt like they had to drag it out across 2 episodes to fill their season episode quota.

As a fan of the matt Smith era, I agree with Harry on this two parter. Its really bad, at least in my opinion. I personally think season 5 as a whole is super overrated. There are like 5 good epsiodes and that's it.

This is definitely the weakest story of Series 5 but I think 1/10 is way too harsh. 5/10 would be more like it.
