Wooo Hooo. Been waiting AGES for a new video from you Matt. Great to see and another really excellent one.I have added one of these to my Wish List for Santa this year to complement my X-Pro2.
Hi, Matt. I wonder what would be like to use this version on a big DSLR as far as light behaviour, once this unit has a much lower axis relative to the lens. Regards.
I was bummed you did not attach the battery pack and do a quick demo shoot to show recycle speed of the Nissan i60. I'm trying to find a way to shoot fast at weddings with my GH5. I came from Canon and 600rt, and so far this is a viable TTL option. But, I'm having trouble with lights keeping up with how fast I shoot. I don't burst shoot, but I do shoot about a shot per second during wedding first dance, grand entrance, cake fights, etc. Would I be correct in assuming you use a Sony wire to attach between your Fuji and the i60? Thanks!
good review Matt. I'm considering getting one of these I have the Meikle (I think that's what it's called) and it has done me fine but not as powerful as this and I have my old canon flashes which I use for off camera work. I really like the look of the controls on this flash and it's what will probably swing it for me. cheers
Interesting about what you've found out about the i60's AF assist light (and that it works). I know of at least three press photographers who can't get it to work with their copies of the speedlite. Caveats excluded, something does seem to be going on........
John Christopher I think he was confused and didn't realise we are all talking about the IR assist beam and not the lamp on the camera. To confirm the IR and HSS do NOT work!!
Nice presentation. Please tell me if HSS work in bounce mode. At i40 HSS is off in bounce mode and must be reactivated in new position. How's at i60? Thanks. Waiting for new presentations.
Also what are you experiences using the i60 with the X-Pro1/2 or even something like the Fuji X100s? Maybe my press colleagues are doing something very wrong but the chorusof disapproval about the i60's IR focus illuminator not working either with the camera set to have it on or off, is very loud.
Hi Matt, do you know if it ever overheat? I had the nissin di622 mark ii and used it for an event. It overheat on me after couple of hundred shot. It was unusable after that
Got the i40 for while ago, didnt have high speed sync. Later I found out it had in manual mode. Does the i60 have it and will you (if it has) review it please?
Nissin says that on fujis HSS will not work, so I think the only flash it has it for fuji right now is their new flash...maybe the reviewer wasn't aware of that.
there was a firmware update on the xpro2 for the i40 just wait if it does not work yet. also try to search how to activate it.. u have to press a button for a few seconds!
The Nissin i60A is not a consistent flash with the T-T2 if it flashes at all. Don't waste your time or money with this flash. There is still no reliable speed light for the X cameras.
Really!! I have just got one recently and it has worked flawlessly. I have tried a few flashes for the Fuji system and I most happy with this one to date and would recommend it. You would only this kind of flash for on camera flash due to its size and form factor so far I am very happy. For off camera flash you can use any manual flashes.
OMG, great review! I just returned my Nissin i40 & sold my Nissin i400 to purchase this Nissin i60A for my Nikon Z7. I appreciate this!

Thanks oc2phish! Hope Santa delivers something 'flashy' for you :)

Long time no see !!!! Good to have u back. Bye the way, the audio level was quite LOW.
Thanks Loch Ness. Will look into audio level. Seemed fine at this end but will see if there's any settings I can fiddle with :)

Cheers Daniel. Yeah the controls are excellent. I really like the scroll wheels - so much more tactile than buttons and the screen is great!

Has the firmware been updated for the i60 then? I thought the early ones did not do HSS.
Hi Matt , have the Nissan i40 and 60 ever got overheat?
Sincerely . Thank you Shawn 👍

With i60A mounted on sony a7II HSS with shutter 1/8000 with head bounced at any angle works with no problem. Dont know with fujis

Loved the i40 but after very light use, the setting Letters on the wheel disappeared.
Looks like they've gone for same setup? 😒
What external battery pack can you use with the i60 ? What are the options ? Does it matter if you use Sony A6xxx or Fuji XT ?
look forward to seeing there air 1 commander with it. great video Matt.

When will you get the Air 1 for testing? I'd like to hear if hss and manual mode also works wireless with the i60a..
kristwi HSS does NOT work on the XT2

did you say if it has the high speed synch?
Recycling is everything , in press, event wedding ..
Does the HSS work on nikon with bounce mode?
hy, i have the Nissin i60A Fuji Version... HSS is on but not working with the Fuji XT2... do you know why?

I know how to activate it but I didn't know about the firmware upgrade, thanks!
for HSS on xt2 you've to wait for the latest firmware update for i60A.. HSS works well on xt1
Latest Update for XT2?
Where have you been? You've dropped off the grid?
Just busy mate, but trying to make up for lost time now :)
Good god man has it really taken you four months to grow the hipster beard? Now please give us your thoughts on the XT2, you are late to the party.
