I have started purchasing the concrete for my future antenna tower projects and my tractor is out at our other farm and I have to off load more than 3/4 ton of it. This pallet alone weighs exactly 3/4 ton (1500 lbs). Since the tractor is away, I sure did not want to manually unload this all so I had an idea for the Bobcat E42, the Tractor Pallet forks and some chains... What's the worst that could happen, right?? Watch as the fun and drama unfolds as the Excavator tips up substantially during this operation. I made myself a dumper bucket that's about 4ft wide/3ft deep/2ft high which has hooks so that I can pick it up with the dozer shield. I use that to convert the excavator into its own mini dump truck. You quickly put some rocks in that from that pile in the back and use it as a counter weight, then turn the cabin and pick up the load with the fork. Now it's a piece of cake since you're balanced.
Always amazed at the power of those mini excavators.
I know, its crazy....
Nice job Kap, slow and easy Got Er Done !
yep.... wasn't sure how this one would go, lol.
The Bobcat has a lot of power, nice work improvising a way to unload the pallet when the Branson wasn't there.
Thanks, yes, that machine is awesome!
Great video again an just as I was telling u on the video to lower the blade for stability u did just that 🤔🤣 great minds or something like that 😂
LOL, I knew some people would be thinking that! As soon as I felt the weight of that thing, I knew the blade had to come down!
Nice work!!
Thanks Mark!
gotta love when a plan works!
hey, especially when you improvise! That's why I love playing with machines! Multi use!
At least you got to check your track's tension! 😁
lol guess so!!
If it works, it works...👍😀😎👌
Haha that was awesome! More than one way to skin a cat, gotta do whatcha gotta do! Take care man!
Good work. I was going to suggest fabricating a quick change adapter to do that but it's such a rarity it wouldn't be worth the cost. ;-)
A real, gettur done moment.
Dang right! worked quite well I thought, thanks.
Got er done.
There was not a lot of weight on the back of the track , but with the blade I do not think you were in much trouble.
yeah that's why I kept the blade down, just in case..
Low and Slow.. Joe. Ha, I see you just love living on the edge, brutha !! Just look at that back end lifting off the ground!! 👀 The Kap is Back! Yes.....The Kap is Back! OooRah !! S/F
Ooorah! Semper Fi! Love improvising!
The only thing I would have done different is lift it off the truck then drive the truck out the way! I call that using your equipment....LOL Good work.
Good call!! I should have done that! LOL. Maybe on the next one! Thanks
I want to make a quick attach set of pallet moving my Bobcat 331. Any ideas?
If you are any good at welding I think it would be very do able. You could probably just weld a couple of steel tabs on your bucket (much like how we weld on chain hooks), and then get the pallet forks and fabricate a slot, or weld on a slot connection to slide on the tabs on the bucket and bam, there you go! That would be a great project! Good luck!
Need to move a Large bolder and place 3400lbs. What size mini excavator would I need. Wont have to expend it to much.
I'd say e42 or bigger. Lots of variables, like if you can lift it over the blade, transport & place it over the blade. That will make a big difference. All mini's will lift much more over the blade. Best of luck.
Bigger counter weight too.
How is the hip coming along ?
Pretty good overall, I still have to be careful but it feels great. Now for the other hip and the spine!! ugggh. thank you.
I wanted to get an E 35 but after seeing the E 42, I want to get the E 42, now.
no doubt, the e42 is a Godzilla compared to the e35. Glad I did all the homework. Heck, since the e42 is a 'traditional' rear weight, it will outdig an e55 zero turn. (or an e50 I don't recall which one is next up). Best of luck!
Tippy toes!
The only way it work is close to the boom .
You've lifted logs that weight. Why not form up your project and use a trailer of premixed concrete towing with the dump truck. Use the smaller bucket to move the mix to the forms and screw loading bags period. Clean up the bucket after the pour and your golden. One yard is a ton. Plenty of needs on both properties. Always have forms ready and Contact a local hauler. They love a place to dump overage in an emergency. Heck of an idea and result.
@ Ed Deetz - One yard of premixed concrete is 4050 lbs.
Good idea Ed, but that space is way too tight where I'll be mixing/pouring and the ground is super soft... It is between the house and garage in the back... Heck, I'll ruin the lawn just with the Bobcat to dig the hole, but I'll fix it in the spring.
Oh man... you are going to hand mix that stuff? I did that once for a tower installation - NEVER again. After that it was poured!
I'm thinking he wouldn't want to back a cement truck over the lawn to get around the house for the antenna base maybe?
he could rent a mixer , set it next to base and tip it right into the forms? still, hard on the back to get it into the mixer also.
hopefully Kapper can get a couple buddies to help him with this project....wonder if he needs rebar in a base like that ???
You are right, not getting any truck in there especially with the soft ground now. We are going to do it by hand, over 100 bags, but I've got some help lined up for when the time comes! thanks.
I've got some help lined up, but it will still be a tough job. but once it's done it will be worth it! thanks.
@@kapperoutdoors Even with poured concrete they can usually shuttle it to the location with a little motorized cart. 100 bags... wow... you'll sleep good that night.
2nd way much better. That fork alone is 300 Pounds
Improvise, and "you'll overcome". ....13
Roger that!
What a guy will do to have to keep from throwing a few bags of concrete LOL.
“How bout that shovel now”
Maybe you’ll get it maybe you won’t but I laughed when I thought of it
ha ha ha!!!! yeah I laughed! Hey, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!!!! lmao
Cool, could have used the claw/thumb to help curl the forks up and level the pallet?
probably could have, but not sure they'd have enough strength to hold this kind of weight. Thanks.
Risk destroying your house, possibly destroy your truck, damage the machine just so you won't spend 10 minutes moving the bags out of the truck. I would lift 2 bags at a time and be done in 5 minutes. No exaggeration. But that's just me...
Well the problem is that my body is wrecked so while it may seem lazy, I try to maximize using machines.
Go bobcat
