  • I got off of hormonal birth control five years ago and started charting my cycles and using the sympto-thermal method as birth control, and guess what? I didn't get pregnant.
    [Obviously, this isn't me saying FAM is 100% effective.]

    This is so fascinating! I stopped taking bc because I was having anxious and obsessive thoughts constantly. I thought it was normal and continued living with it, until I found your channel! I'm going on 5 months of being off of the pill and I'll never go back. My moods are steadier, the anxiety has gone away and the rare occasion it does return I know how to deal with it better. I track my temperature using the Daysy. Thank you for inspiring me!

    I’m on 2 years off birth control (thanks to your videos and leadership leading me into more research and making changes), no pregnancies ... knock on wood! 😜
    My doctor was supportive to an extent. She just reminded me that nothing is 100% so be prepared etc.

    FAM is amazing both ways. I tried to get pregnant and got pregnant on the first try, that’s quite impressive considering that i figured out i was pregnant much before the pregnancy test :)
    For me it’s a way to know my body much much better than i ever could. Love this freedom and control 😊

    You are such an inspiration! I stopped taking the pill about 4 and a half years ago and have never looked back. I decided to start using Natural Cycles because I felt more comfortable with it than charting with Kindara and I am learning more and more about my body every day. This is about so much more than birth control (as you have said many times), this is about taking responsibility of our health and our bodies, of learning what works for us as individuals and understanding our cyclical nature as women. Information definitely is power. I am Colombian and live in Panama and if you think people in the USA or Europe are skeptical just imagine what it is like in Latin America, the lack of information and education is so real, and it is so sad. I just hope to one day help other women who do not speak English understand that they have options, just like you have helped me

    When I got married, I was given three months of the pill for free by the gynecologist that my mom took me to see before my wedding day (😁). The pill was awful for me. My cycle went crazy. I bled for two weeks straight. I was a mess. I started researching and found NFP. We have been married for 17 YEARS and have never had an unexpected pregnancy! It works!

    I’m thinking of getting off the pill because in the last 6 months or so my libido has vanished! I find it so hard to ever want sex (even though I obviously want sex) and though my husband has been SO gracious and sweet about the whole thing I think I need to deal with it. The only thing I can connect it to is my birth control as the other reasons I thought it might have been affected have been ruled out. I’m thinking about trying FAM because we’re at the point in our life where if we did get pregnant it wouldn’t be the end of the world. We’d love to have more time just the two of us but if a little someone decided to come into the world that’s okay too. Maybe I should check out your course!

      I switched pills due to constant breakthrough bleeding and the new pill completely killed my sex drive. I came off the pill 2 years ago to try for a baby but unfortunately we haven’t conceived yet. But I would never go back on the pill. I didn’t realise how much of a negative effect it had on my body until I stopped taking it.

    I have never been on hormonal birth control and never plan to. I have been charting using the sympto-thermal method for over a year now and love it! It's amazing how I don't have to put any nasty hormones in my body and how in tune I am with my body.

    Thanks for sharing! I’ve been off the pill for a little over two years and it’s done WONDERS for my health. The pill made me depressed, get insomnia, and gain a bunch of weight. I was really happy when my husband was on board with me going off the pill because we both could tell that my mood was just “off”. I actually really love chatting my cycle, more than just as a way to prevent pregnancy, because I’ve learned so much about my body!

    I quit the pill 6 months ago because I was on it for 7 years and my libido was gone... I was a bit lost for which method to use and tried the ring for 1 cycle and then found out about FAM and the app Natural Cycles... now I'm using the app but it has only been 1 cycle with it. Also your channel helped me a lot! And the Taking charge of your fertility book as well (recommended by you). So thank you!! I feel much more in control of my body and that I know myself more, first time I could tell I was ovulating was so magical!

      Crystal Lopez I just started my senior year of high school and I'm taking the chart your cycle course. Most of my friends are skeptical, but I know a few are interested. I feel like teens would be more open towards it if they weren't already taking the pill or sexually active.

    • @darbsssss
      @darbsssss 6 лет назад +2

      I use natural cycles, the app that got recently approved, and I loooove it. Again, its not for everyone. But for me i've found it gives me so much clarity and knowledge about my cycle. Knowledge really is power. I follow what it says religiously (ex. on a red day either no sex or use a condom) so i don't see any issues or concerns with it. Havent gotten pregnant so... so far so good! ahaha ultimately it makes me feel so empowered to have this knowledge and it really makes your cycle seem like more of a friend than a foe. My boyfriend was skeptical at first but now he's totally on board. He even helps me remember to take my temperature and he's keeping up with if Im green (good to go) or red (fertile). I would recommend this to anyone looking to learn more about their own cycle and body and for anyone that just wants a natural approach to birth control :)

    • @sassypants7536
      @sassypants7536 6 лет назад

      Would you recommend it over similar apps like Kindara? The interface for Natural Cycles seems more simple and user friendly to me. I can't decide which one to go with though. At this stage I just track my period, but I want to start doing FAM for real.

    • @psychordelia

    • @psychordelia
      @psychordelia 6 лет назад

      Susan Repp if you look in Victoria's videos you'll find one about her using the daisy and she explains about using it solely or not.

    • @Larella2
      @Larella2 6 лет назад

      in my opinion the daisy is just a very expensive electronic device which works on logarithms you can't really control. you will learn more about how to chart your cycle when using a thermometer and a qualified app...that's also cheaper ;)

  • @LeColoma
    @LeColoma 6 лет назад +3

    Hey Victoria, do you still use the daisy to take your temperature ? When I did try FAM I struggled to find a thermometer that was accurate and that was in the correct degree to chart curious to hear your thoughts on this.
    Thanks!

    I have unbearably strong menstrual bleeding. I've tried tackling this issue without hormones for years, but nothing worked. I just had the Mirena (hormonal IUD) removed a month ago, since it didn't work the way it was supposed to - instead of making me bleed less, I bled approx. the same amount of blood but over the course of 3 weeks. only about 1 week of not-bleeding every month - and THAT only happened after 7 months, the first 6 months I basically bled every day! I will start using a hormonal ring soon, since I can't work and study or even leave the house when I'm on the first 3 days of my period

      Cornelia Dottir Hi Cornelia it’s the same thing if you take hormonal ring. It just another way of putting synthetical hormones into your body. You should consider symptothermal method that is 99,6% sure without hormones in comparison pill is 99,4% sure.
