    I had pain in my knees since I was 10 years old. Was paralyzed in my left side when I was 9 years old, my left leg stopped growing when j was paralyzed and are 3 cm shorter and are weaker in my left leg too do to nerve damage and paralysis in my foot. I have a lot of problems in my right side if the body, my knee, my hip shoulder and neck. I injured my meniscus in my right knee a few years ago and have light arthritis now. I already work out the best I can and hope I don’t need surgery in the future. But my neurologist and my other doctors said when I was injured that I would get problems in my body after the injury. My muscle mass is about 20-30 procent weaker and less in my left leg. And can’t move my foot.

      I started with the glut muscles calf muscles and the shin. Instantly started feeling better. The pain was gone. Still was very weak . Could not be on my feet for long periods. Gradually started increasing the length of time. Still not 100% but feels good. I’m 73 years old so it’s good enough

    Excellent explanation. Thank you.
    Originally the VA had me doing quad exercises for weak legs. That is when the knee pain started. Eventually I moved to a civilian clinic and was diagnosed with stage 4 arthritis. You have helped me immensely.
    The foot exercise is something that I have been doing, not for arthritis, but for neuropathy. Amazing results. Legs do not feel weak anymore. I can walk 2 miles a day with no pain in my knee (Except for frostbite) andI no longer walk as if I am drunk.

    I've been working to strengthen glutes. What I think is I am not standing straight and not lifting each foot. I do a short walk outside and then attempt inside walking and exercises but trying to stand straight and not shuffle. I wonder - would failure to do these and then changing to pick these up be the reason I'm sore? Anyway, I keep watching your videos and trying to apply what you explain. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge.

    Hi, i had tibial plateau fracture, went to pt for 30 sessions then only worked on glute muscles for 6 months while not using quads and it didn't do anything for me. Are you sure glute muscles can fix everything?

    • @la8833
      @la8833 День назад

      I also had a tibial plateau fracture. I was getting out of my truck and it was icy. My leg slipped and went side ways. The left leg bent outward at the knee. I had to wear a brace on whole leg up to the hip. Very painful for me. Now I have nothing but problems with that knee.

      @@la8833 Sorry to hear, last year I had an accident where my bike fell on my knee resulted in a tibial plateau fracture, I had nothing but constant pain for a straight year even after a lot of pt sessions. Then I found this guy his channel, got some hope and started working on my glutes like crazy, unfortunatly it didn't do much for me...
      I think this channel is mostly meant for those who have knee pain naturally due to age or overuse and it's not really meant for those with an injury. However I recently started focussing more vmo muscles of quadriceps and I'm starting to see some improvements so I guess you shouldn't only focus on glutes but instead on entire leg muscles (quads, hamstrings, calf, glutes, foot etc etc)
      Either way best of luck and hope your recovery will go better than mine, tibial plateau fracture is quite serious...

      If you're old eat good protein. In my 60s I got sarcopenia big time even though I was athletic most of my life. I went vegan for 10 years and couldn't get strong. I hired a personal trainer for my75th birthday but it was really going slow. I decided to add meat, egg, dairy and fats to my diet and over the past 6 mos I have leapt far ahead. That's my story. Not every body's. By the way I'm not wealthy, but the personal trainer was the best investment I ever made.

    • @diamonddx95
      @diamonddx95 День назад +1

      @@catobie1948 I really appreciate your story. I'm 70 and it sounds similar to mine Especially with the sarcopenia. How did you choose the personal traîner? Il not wealthy either, but I know we all pay one way or the other. I soooo want my strength back!!!

    • @catobie1948
      @catobie1948 День назад

      @diamonddx95 the big change was when I put meat, eggs, dairy back into my diet. I was lucky in that my sister found the PT. The trainer is a physiotherapist and worked at a large area hospital til she went on her own. I would definitely find out their qualifications. Anyone can become a personal trainer on line so I would ask for credentials beyond personal trainer certification. If you have a doctor ask. You could try the YMCA. Or maybe a Silver Sneakers group. I really don't know.
      If you have a knee replacement you have to find someone who knows how to work around. I assume you had physical therapy after your knee surgery so maybe they could recommend someone.
      Look at the videos this man provides. I wish I could help. Good luck.
