Ive done 7 niles cruises since 2006, seen all the sights but in March i'm going again to Hurghada and while there i'm doing a day trip to Cairo to see the pyramids, all my crusies where Luxor to Aswan and back
I did a Nile River cruise earlier this year. It is absolutely amazing, but not for the boat or its pool. The amazing thing for me is the idea that very early man traveled down this river and the river itself probably hasn't changed that much.
Did you do a 3/4 night cruise or a 7 night cruise? I'm thinking of it myself but worried you don't get enough time/guidance at the temples and other sites
@@cupboardofcheese1529 We did the 7-night, which went from Luxor to Aswan and then back to Luxor. There were only7 8 of us on the boat who went both ways. It was kind of weird when all of our new friends suddenly left and we had a new group of people on the way back. You go to different temples and sites in each direction, so I don't think it really matters with the time spent at each site. We did have several different guides. One picked us up and brought us back to the Cairo airport, his job was transportation. Then we had a guide in and around Cairo, a different one on the river cruise up the Nile, and another one on the way back down the Nile. They were all really good. As far as guidance, you go to the temples as a group and most are not self-guided. You stay with your group and learn from your guide. The only place that was self-guided was the Valley of the Kings where they had 5 or 6 different tombs and you could pick which 2 you wanted to go into. I've been around the world and seen many countries and I think this is my favorite one of all. Not because it was fancy and opulent, but because it has such historical value and made me think about where we all came from.
@@cupboardofcheese1529 We bought a 14 day 12 night package called "Pyramids, Alexandria & Full-Board Nile" from a company called Exottica and it was $6600 USD for both of us from USA in March and that price including pretty much everything except alcohol. We asked around a little when we got there and some people thought we paid a lot, but we felt like we got a deal. You can travel alone and feel safe. Well, as long as you stay with the group and don't wander too far from the boat. However, this will in no way be a singles pick-up destination. If you like going to museums alone (I do), this is actually a great trip for deep thought and self-reflection.
Wow, beautiful ship! And quite large. How many passengers on board? Thanks for the vibrant, fun, informative video! If I get to Egypt I’ll be sure to book that cruise…looks like awesome fun.
Just so you know, there are dozens and dozens of these boats going up and down the Nile. They are configured the same way for the most part. They are more or less a small floating hotel with like 50 rooms. I'm not sure it is perfectly standardized, but they classify the boats on some way. I can't really remember, but essentially it is maybe 5 star or 4 star (although I don't think they use stars). The cool thing about the older boats is that the rooms have large sliding glass windows that you can open. I opened mine and literally looked out on the Nile as I was lying in my bed. It was surreal. The newer boats have sealed windows. I think the older ones have bigger rooms as well. The boat I was on was called the Esmaralda. It was one the "upper class" boats, but I would say not to expect the same level of opulence on any of these boats than you would see on a typical ocean cruise ship. These boats get used a lot.
A great to start of with could be the Sony A6400 and to start of with Europe, or Thailand, Indonesia are great places to start travelling for first time travellers! Message me if you need any more help! 😊
Hi Joel, just a quick question, how did you book this cruise? On your own or through an agency or concierge at the hotel?any help is greatly appreciated.,. Mike
Hey Joel, du you take your Laptop with you while traveling? Or do you let it at home because of e.g. thief’s? If you do take it with you, how do you protect your valuables?
HI Joel: Thanks for the great video. Is this the La Terrasse ship ? Where the attractions tickets included or you paid extra ? How much you paid for all attractions for the 4 days (luxor temple/karnak temple/edfu/abu simbel etc )? We are also planning a 4 day cruise.
Here is the link to the one we did! www.getyourguide.co.uk/luxor-l109/from-luxor-2-nights-3-days-luxury-nile-cruise-t383998/?partner_id=CDNOMEC&cmp=RUclipsNileCruise
hii, I'm planning to go to Egypt too and I want to ask that from your opinion, should I bring the camera (Canon camera) when travelling Egypt? ^^ Thank you so much!!
Hi Joe, awesome video, thank you for sharing, very informative and nicely done. Joe I'm in the precess of booking a Nile Cruise and loved the boat you cruised on, but reading previous messages for cost and other info, I realized that you answer one of the questions as the boat's name being Champion but in the video it shows Cheteau Laffayette, just wondering if it is Champion of laffayette, also, how many nights was your trip and the approximately cost. I called the getyourguide, but long story short, they will call me back, so I thought in asking you since I'm in kind of a hurry. Thank you so much in advance.
Amazing place. Amazing history. Amazing people. Not as good as it used to be before the invasion of tourists (pre Covid) All those balloons are off putting. There was only a single balloon carrying six people when we used to go. That was a romantic adventure, concluding with breakfast in the Sahara. It looks to commercial now. TIP: The Sonesta seven day cruises are the best.
It’s all fun and games until he said he had food poisoning the night before then went in a jacuzzi. And he wondered why his friend didn’t join him? Lol it’s A No No, dahhhling!

@@rogfromthegarage8158 Thanks, I definitely wouldn't use it as a singles pick up location just thought it would be a long time to be alone on a boat
The people of Aswan are very kind, I love them 😍
Aswan was my favorite town as well. Luxor is kinda sketchy so be careful.
Welcome to Egypt
greeting from Cairo
Aww thank you, the next video I am in Cairo

The balloons 🎈 is it including with the trip and where ? I can find it

Thanks a lot Jeff! There was probably like 30 people on board but there was room for another 50 People I’d say! It was very empty!

Only 300 doll hairs really?
If you are going to make a utube video about a cruise, at least inform your self that on any ship or boat, the rooms are referred to as Cabins!
