So Heihachi, Jack, Prototype Jack and Ganryu had the same voices in Tekken? How confusing. I have noticed that Namco made a distinction with tones, such as Anna’s and Nina’s, but I don’t think that was until Tekken 2. It’s hard to tell with certain characters though unless they’re fighting each other. As far as I know, they didn’t do it too much in this version unless I’m missing something. It seems like pretty much all the characters shared similar voices as others. I think this was up until Tekken 3.
Yeah, some unlockable characters like Lee who had assets of Law and P.Jack obviously borrowing elements from Jack, were made somewhat early, but Wang and Lee had original voice clips in some instances. Ganryu, Anna and Heihachi were last minute additions to consoles, since some of them were sub bosses in Arcades, they did what they could due to limited resources and to meet deadlines.
Yep you're right. Only characters with their own unique voices were Wang, Michelle, Paul and Law. In T2 Anna had a few different sounds than Nina like a different laugh, damage noises and ko scream. But overall her voice was in a higher pitch
In this first Tekken game Ganryu owns the move Body Press. He shares the many same movesets as Jack, P. Jack, Kuma. He loses that move in sequel Tekken 2.
One thing that I've always wondered about the first two Tekkens is why they take so long to get up after they get knocked to the ground?🤔 This is the only fighting game that I know of, where this happens.
It also happens in Virtua Fighter but basically it's a tool for extra damage for the person on the offense and completing the sequence. However when someone doesn't use the jump attack or attack you while on the ground it just looks awkward as you're waiting an eternity to get up from the ground lol
It's pretty heartwarming to see how far Ganryu has come in 25 years time. Happy he's in Tekken 7 now.
JKF 201726 ikr he was always a pretty dope character too me and I’m pretty psyched for that other new character other than Leroy, Fakumrahm
@Bradley Jax Yup, I've been using Flixzone for since november myself :)
@@Mike.325 except for them making him a joke and chasing young girls
Ganryu, Heihachi, and Prototype Jack sounds like Jack voice on Tekken!
law the blow up doll

The short answer? Tight budget back then.
