Edith was so adorable.
Jean Stapleton is an amazing character actor , and the part of Edith Bunker is done to perfection. She is my all-time favorite.
Nobody could've done anybody better than her. She was the perfect choice. Now, I'm not sure how many women tried out for the part, but they picked the right person.

Archie didn't deserve Edith. My mother was so attached to Edith that she never watched the show again after Edith died.
I get that. Edith is one of a kind more than any other actress. I love her too. But it’s nice to see her as well. 👏👏👏👏👏♥️
Moon River was composed by Mancini but the lyrics were by Johnny Mercer, from my hometown of Savannah, GA. Some of the best song lyrics ever, IMO. He and Mancini won the Oscar for Moon River in 1961 and also the following year for Days of Wine and Roses.

At the end of the episode Archie tells Edith it wasn't his birthday and she says I hope someone tells him.

I had to go look up Henry Mancini. Though I've heard his compositions for decades, I had never seen him on-stage etc. His work won awards.
