Komaflex S Overview

Another Packard-Ideal video about something that isn't Packard related. This was a request video because I seem to own one of the few working copies of the Komaflex-S camera. This is an overview of the operation and features of the camera. Most features are explained and used (except the timer/flash switch, which I forgot) and a dummy roll of film is loaded and shot.
Fun new drinking game: every time I say "anyhow" or "anyways".

thank you for this video. had not yet opened a camera before, but your video prompted me to open my Komaflex S. interesting experience 😎 there were a couple of problems, including a spring around the interlock was out of place. and in the film counter wheel, the little pin had become disconnected, and the roll that the film is supposed to make turn the film counter was blocked. More or less found how this puzzle fit together and was able to close it again 😁

Cool video about an interesting camera! I too have a rare functional Komaflex.... It does indeed take great photos but for maybe one or two photos per roll it over-exposes them quite a lot. I think maybe the shutter leaves get stuck and don't stop down far enough. Fortunately, the other photos come out fine. You're right about the tactile feel of the wind lever! It really does feel like you're grinding gravel. It's fun though.

Wow cool video, I actually have one of these sitting on my shelf that I bought for display that does too seem to function as far as I can tell. Any idea on the value of a working camera?

I have one but the shutter is stuck. Do you have any suggestions if this is fixable?

Thanks. I have a komaflex-s that has an issue. The issue is that the film isn't always rolling the roller to advance the film counter and I keep cranking more than 2 times. The roller is slippery but it rolls ok with my fingers. Perhaps I should experiment with only backing paper to see if it is ok.

The extra force on the shutter cocking is because you bring down the mirror too.

I bought one of these after watching this. Thought I checked everything out and it worked, but soon realised it had some kinks😅Its really close to working but Im stuck on this one issue. The shutter only works which the aperture at 2.8. Any other aperture and it doesn't do anything. haven't opened it yet(mainly cause I don't know how and don't want to remove the side leather), but if anyone can help me with this issue I'd highly appreciate it😬😬
