    Just for reference, the T7 uses an extremely similar body to the T6 so the majority of this info is accurate for the t7.
    Practically speaking the only difference I'm aware of is that the screw underneath the rear grip pad is removed on the t7, so the removal of that grip pad is unnecessary.

      @@CameraRestoreI was wondering, for the 2 wire microphone connection, can I modify it and wire it to a mono 3.5 plug of some sort and sort of enable the ability to plug in an external mic? or probably not due to shadow power n whatnot?

    • @CameraRestore
      @CameraRestore  3 года назад +1

      the hardware of this camera was made for working only with this type of microphones, using a different mic might create lower sound or lower quality of the sound unless you will use the same one or type. One tip would be to use an external recorder and place it into the editor, you can use an old phone (iPhones have great recording quality) with an external mic and a great app for recording, years ago I was doing on a low budget project. Clap your hands in the camera to match the sound.
      Use Voice recorder pro as app, it is very good
      play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ca.bejbej.voicerecordpro&hl=en_IE
      also for iOS

    Incredible level of quality and detail in the development of this video. I watched the entire process almost hypnotically. Excellent work.
    As I have some analog Canon EF lenses, I was thinking of buying one of these cameras that was offered to me and it seems to work for the purpose of refurbishment and use, my biggest concern being shutter wear and possible replacement. I imagined that I would have to remove the sensor to get to it, but what scares me now is the fact of its subsequent calibration. I understand that you will make a video explaining the process.
    Do you think it will be easy to get spare parts for this particular camera?
    Will it be worth buying that camera for my personal use?
    Greetings and congratulations.

    • @CameraRestore
      @CameraRestore  2 года назад

      Hey Eduardo, thank you for your kind message. Regarding the camera, depends on your level of use, if you do not have much of experience with DSLR cameras and want to step in this amazing world, yes, it is a great camera for that. For replacement parts, you should be able to source that easily on eBay, also you can check my webpage or contact me in case you need any replacement. If you get this camera as second hand, you need to check on the total counts of the shutter, the lower count the more possibility to not need to do any service on the shutter, and keep in mind that this camera shutter is rated to 100000 shots. If you keep your camera away from dust and humidity, you will not have any problem with it.
      The image sensor calibration is something serious, so no way doing it as I was mentioning into the video.

    Всем кто будет делать по этому гайду на 1:25 после снятия резинки ОБРАТИТЕ ВНИМАНИЕ ПОД КНОПКОЙ СЕРЕБРЯНЫЙ БОЛТИК, который автор НЕ ПОКАЗАЛ КАК ВЫКРУЧИВАЕТ. Зато на 11:50 склейка видео, на которой ЗА КАДРОМ он выкрутил этот болтик и только потом передняя часть корпуса легко снимается! А ведь так можно и сломать.

    Was the problem with this specific DSLR a corroded power board? I see some minor water damage on the back of it.
    I have a 1300D which had corrosion on the back of the power board due to some water ingress. I cleaned it with 99.99% IPA, however it still did not work. I think I saw perhaps one or two traces that may have been corroded through.
    Is it likely that a faulty power board could damage the rest of the camera or should the issue be isolated to this location do you think? I also accidentally shorted the flash capacitor to the body when discharging it 🙈 hopefully this hasn't caused any further damage.
    Thank you for the very informative video! Was very useful in diagnosing my issue.

      Diagnosing the circuit board on cameras is quite hard, to me at least is time consuming, I would recommend to replace the whole board. Since there are no electric diagrams available for this cameras it is hard to debug. I spend time on mainboards but even though the rate of success is low… at least in my case.

    So after i remove the parts, the ones that need repair will need to be replaced, correct? Is there any way to clean and re-use?

    • @CameraRestore
      @CameraRestore  3 года назад

      In part yes but depends, for example the most common problem where you can clean and reuse the components is when the camera suffered some water damage, in that case an ultrasonic cleaning may recover a water damage component even if electronic.

    I use a t6 for my photobooth. sometimes I get just a black image, could this be a failing shutter? I'm having a hard time figuring out if it's a camera problem or a flash unit problem. I use a Digibee 400 Flash unit. I assumed it was a sync problem but have no clue.
