  • CATIA is one of the many software I had a really hard time writing on. you actually don't get much beginners info on this software on google so I decided to pair it with SolidWorks, siemens nx, ptc creo, rhinoceros, and 3ds max to give you an absolute detailed knowledge of what this software really does.
    kindly leave your tips and struggle in this cad journey in the comment section below.

    This is a very good explain about the uses and the power of each software. I'm personally started with draft sketch --> AutoCAD --> Inventor --> Solidwork (until now) And I'm about to try NX soon to see if it fit my need then solidworks or will Solidworks be my professional skill.😂 Note: I only have one year experience but it's pretty good so far.
    I hope every starter in CAD design will see this video. Thanks you

      Wow, one year of experience is almost like having all the basic knowledge you need to gather before making your final decision if that's a future you want. Good start man.

    I am an expert in SOLIDWORKS. My opinion is if it has wheels or wings, CATIA is the way to go. Otherwise, the power behind the intuitive and fast software makes SOLIDWORKS have a greater ROI for most companies. My other opinion is that in a decade, both of these softwares will be phased out as 3DExperience is further developed, even if it isn’t the best platform today. All three of these softwares are developed by the same company, and they are pushing very hard with the cloud based CAD systems

      Why specifically wings or wheels? I assume you're saying CATIA is better for things that do a certain type of motion? What makes CATIA better at that?

    • @adaml929
      @adaml929 Год назад

      @@fulldonkeymode8837 Well, three big reasons. First, CATIA is simply industry standard with those industries, so there would be less file converting between companies and manufacturers. Second, CATIA has what should be considered a superior surface modeling and sculpting tool. Third, CATIA assemblies work really well with motion, which isn't to say SOLIDWORKS doesn't because SOLIDWORKS is occasionally bought by companies just to have a tool that can send animations of future products to marketing, but I believe that CATIA works better with that type of cyclical motion and with assemblies at the scale of the automotive industry (many thousands of parts), so your assumption is correct. It does have a higher learning curve because its interface isn't anywhere near as intuitive as SOLIDWORKS. Ease of use for all of its many many tools is something that SOLIDWORKS really works on.
      Side note, 3DEXPERIENCE will continue to take the best parts of both platforms and run it in a cloud based system.

      @wait I would contact your SolidWorks reseller and inquire about SOLIDWORKS CONNECTED. It's like regular SOLIDWORKS but based on the cloud so as things go more cloud based you are future-ready.

    I do 3D modeling (Maya). But I can't draw or even do basic sketch. It is limiting me from creating my own original concepts. I model by placing Orthographic images but I have to rely on other 2D artists work for that . Is there software that will help someone who can't draw do basic sketching? I wanted to become Matte painter but didn't pursue it because of my inability to draw or paint

    Every engineer is from a rich home. These software cost nothing to them. I have a friend who has more than two of these expensive cad software on his computer and he's always working so it kinda cuts it for the cost. Good review by the way.
