Thanks for being so honest about the color. Everyone else seems to make it look more purple than it really is. This is exactly what I saw in the apple store. Thanks for helping me choose the color I’m going to get.
I found the lighting/environment plays a big role in the color! Outside in natural lighting it has a little bit more or a purple hue to it. I’m still not sure I would call it purple though
Hey Sticky, I notice you complained about having a reference and procreate in split screen and it being cramped. Can I teach you a trick? You can upload your reference image into procreate, so you can keep procreate in full screen, you can resize the reference to your liking, and you can also hide and unhide the layer when you want to, so you can use the full screen to draw. You can also move the ref picture around, and out of your way. I think this is much better than keeping it open on a whole different app. I know im late but I hope this helps! I usually make my reference image real small and keep it up in the top corner. So i still have a nice open space to draw while still being able to see my reference image.
5:06 I watched this like 6 times to even comprehend how you did this, this is such a COOL thing I never thought to do! You can make shirts or other fabric patterns in art... Omg! ...Also thanks for the Mini review! Helped me decide that I think I would still like an Air, since the screen will be a little bigger for multitasking. Thank you!
The iPad mini is honestly the perfect size for me. Reading comics, watching RUclips, playing games and, more importantly, the "sketchbook" size that means I'll almost always have it with me when I go out. Sure the pro is really nice if you're just wanting to draw at home on your desk in serious sessions, but that's never been my style to begin with and the iPad mini is still more than capable of producing clean, finished artwork, as long as you're not afraid to zoom frequently
@@xboxswitch9457 I'm a bartender and make 2-3x as much as most working class people I know Furthermore, I can get a 12.9 inch ipad pro used for the same price as the mini these days anyway, so your comment doesn't even make sense The only person lying to themselves is you. Thanks for the in depth. I really want to get an iPad to practice digital art and since I'm a beginner I think this is might be the best option for me. I'd love to get started with some 3D rendering with it and wasn't sure if it could handle it, but looks like it can.
The new base iPad can even handle 3D to sone degree! If you are doing really high poly/detailed models it may be best to go with a pc! But it is nice to be able to sculpt on the go!
Are you a beginner to digital or to all drawing because I think if your a beginner to all drawing it would be better to keep on paper I found that some people who start with the iPad don’t really understand how most art apps work and how the pencils and pens work and some give up because they don’t understand and can’t figure out how to best use one of the 300+ pens on procreate and other apps
Thank you for being so thorough with the explanation of your experience with the iPad mini. I just bought this iPad mini. I'm oreety excited especially for my art purposes.
The newer iPad pros are super fragile, when they first came out I saw a reviewer snap one in half with his bare hands. Which is exactly why I bought my iPad Pro new and am buying an iPad mini secondhand, so I don’t have to worry about ever leaving the house with the nice one again.
As someone who has an iPad Pro for art, and looking into the iPad mini as a mobile version, you pretty much answered my questions as to the differences and touched on the concerns I may have. Thank you!
Ive been searching for a review like this for a year! Thank you so much! Im a tattoo apprentice and want an ipad specifically for procreate to make digital tattoo flash on the go.
Thanks for the Nice review! How well performs drawing / writing with the pencil in comparison with the Pro models, with the higher refresh rate displays?
This is a really good review because I have an iPad but battery keeps dying and I new one, thinking about getting an mini instead of an air because it’s so portable. I do drawing a lot and I want to get better at it digital as I master it with paper. All I need to know if Roblox would work well if you played with your thumbs and it won’t be so squished tysm
How to get my finished artwork over to my macbook air? I'm just looking to draw simple sketches, to use on a website. I guess they need to be converted, and then transferred over. Possible?
Hello , Love your work , kindly reply as I am planning to buy IPAD AIR 5 (64GB) for my NOTES (goodnotes + freeform ) as well as DRAWINGS ( procreate + concepts ) and for storing pdfs . Now 256 is bit costlier for me so I am thinking about grabbing an external SSD to use along with 64gb Air 5 . SSD will be cheaper than upgrading to 256gb Air 5 . but I am not sure if that will be practical or not ? and how many times a week I have to transfer my files ?
64gb will fill up fast with apps and video files seem to take up most for me. I have an external hd and for my use have to use it every week or so to store files. It’s workable but not ideal, I really wish the base was 128gb
But what about only certain apps. Like Netflix,WhatsApp,luma fusion, procreate, and some another 5-6 apps. And I will be editing video and deleting them as soon as I post on RUclips. Won't 64gb be enough for me. As I won't download and will stream more
@@manifestme4696 Hehe... I also have a blue tooth controller, I play GTA San Andreas with it too...and World of Tanks.. and... I ve had this tablet (IPad Air 2) for the last 5 years and I love it every day even more. Like my dogs. 🥰
Hi, i love your video. Could your please send me the link to buy dtto case for ipad mini 6 in your video. I cannot search the one match yours case. Thank you for your reviewing.
The screen size for me works really well and almost every scenario I need it to. Whether or not the screen size is big enough will really depend on your own personal preferences and what you plan on using it for. If you plan on using split screen a lot you may want to go with a larger screen but even in split screen it’s usable just not ideal.
No way! For me, it's too expensive and too small, just like an expensive cell phone, only larger. The mini (40.8 sq in) comes at 12.25$ per sq in. The iPad 9 (67.6 sq in) comes at 4.86$ per sq in. Almost 3 times cheaper! We're tired of "having to get used to" lousy specs.
Completely agree! Bigger screen is better value for your money! However Keep in Mind some people with more on the go may find convenience in the compact design! (The mini 6 is smaller with slightly better specs than iPad 9) I tend to like the mini most when sitting or laying on a couch/bed as it’s easier to hold in one hand and draw with the other but for most of my desk work with a table mount the bigger iPad or iPad Pro is overall ideal!
I don’t recommend it for artist, it’s too small. The air or 11 inch pro are better. Which artist want a small canvas. This mini is for people who want to write, or pilot or people who don’t use the tablet a lot, unlike artist.
I thought the same! I own a pro and a mini and after one month I used the mini 60-70of the time. Mainly because I found it more comfortable to hold on while sitting on a couch or on the go. I think if you plan on using a desk primarily go for the bigger screen. But if you are on-the-go a lot or plan on using your iPad sitting, laying, or hold in hand the iPad mini is a nice option too :). I think the current lineup of iPad none of them are a bad option, more of what fits your personal needs.
For finished work it might be the case, depends on the project, but for making gifs in Callipeg or RoughAnimator on the go, or just urban sketching. This size is perfect. If you just have the one device and you need it on the go and for bigger projects the 11” is the sweet spot, but if you do your finished work on a 13” tablet or bigger (like a Cintiq). This could be the perfect little sketchbook.
@@sloppynyuszi exactly, I have an iPad Pro but I was sooo scared of taking it places since it’s still like new so I bought a used iPad mini and it’s the perfect solution. The storage is really tiny but it takes literally one second to airdrop a procreate file to it and open it instantly.
