I hate to say it, but I might have turned for home after my plane got shot up pretty good on that second pass. Nobody could say you ran away from a fight with that much damage.
Coward, you do not turn back even with grievous damage done to your aircraft, you fight until your mission is done, that's how we do it.

On the second pass, there should have been a couple of dozen lines of tracers heading back up towards the fighters. Look at the numbers of fighters shot down by bombers, it's way higher than this. Plus, even if the bombers don't hit the fighters, they make the fighters engage at longer, less effective ranges.

Why the landing gear...?
I love this SIM however, the developer needs to sort out the gunners on the bomber airplanes, their shooting is just not realistic.
Seems like they have snipers, not gunners

Allied fighters did not have the range until the Mustang appeared.
I thought they escorted far enough and need to return because of fuel

The bomber crews should have dog fought the bandits,,as the crew had no fighter protection & had forward firing guns.

Has anyone analysed the Nazi fighter pilots records, as verified post war, for the ratio of single engine kills to multi engine kills and further, checked out how many British and American bombers were killed by fighters as opposed to flak?
Flak was responsible for majority of casualties, from 1944 on.
and yet george lucas would have us believe the b-25's were in the power position!
