It's like GOD sent this broadcast my way. from a car accident resulting in 8 foot surgeries, and a knee and hip replacement, my former 4 mile a day walk ended and one hundred pounds reappeared along with stage four kidney failure. Fifty pounds ago the Kidney Dr. told me I can't live long with all this extra weight on them. Bless your heart Chef A.J., for bringing her to all of us, and long live Elaine, for reminding me, 69 yrs old is not a rime to be giving up. I have always loved vegetables and fruit, but have let the poisons to be part of my diet, which have caused nothing but havoc to my body and soul. I have purchased the books, including yours Chef, Elaine's, and Dr. McDougall's. Wish me success !!
Nancy Peters! You've got this! You will feel better very soon and your mind will clear up. You are doing it for your health but most of it for yourself. Become an inspiration to others. I am wishing you good luck. Leave comments when Chef AJ is live. It is a great community who cares and helps each other.
Fantastic! I'm so happy to hear your progress IF you ever feel you need additional support, consider joining my group for free for 2 weeks:feelfabulousoverforty.com/join/
I have to say Chef AJ this was one of the best moving, awe inspiring, full of wisdom interviews I have seen to date. I have never seen you smile so much and the fact that we all still can glean the knowledge from Jack through Elaine as if he were still here together with her. I'm so glad that you interviewed her so that people will remember and we can preserve the fact that Jack was one of the first fitness pioneers, a true legend. In fact a lot of her quotes and Jack's should be included in a future documentary on both of them. I especially love the end when she talked about positivity in this day in age. I think we all know what the secret of longevity is now for sure. This interview made me cry. My dad geared his life and his children's to the fitness and nutrition movement and it was because of Jack LaLanne. As a little girl in the 60s I would do the exercises with Jack because he would talk to the children and say boys and girls go get your mother and do these exercises with me. And who doesn't remember his German shepherd Happy. What an inspiration he was and for you to interview Elaine, well priceless!
I have watched almost all of your interviews since the quarantine and I have to say, this was the best! What a thrill this must have been for you AJ. Thank you for all your hard work and inspiring shows. You are my daily dose of sanity in a crazy world.
I felt tears coming on when you talked about Jack LaLanne. The memories I have with a chair in front of the TV with my mom exercising brought back a lot of memories. Their dog the white German shepherd and Elaine it was precious.
Great interview Chef AJ! I love Jack and Elaine and their joyful energy. I wish Jack was still with us so you could interview him as well. You are an excellent interviewer. I must admit, I have dropped the ball big time with my health and strayed from eating WFPB for a long time now. I haven't watched you for a long time either, but after this video, I am determined to get back on track with my eating and exercising. Thank you for all you do!
Elaine Lalane is an absolute treasure!! What a doll. Her positivity and personality are wonderful! Thank you Chef AJ you must've been so happy to have interviewed such an icon.❤️
I had the extreme pleasure of talking with Elaine LaLanne on the phone once and she was so personable to me, a total stranger. Somehow I let out that I lived on a houseboat in Sausalito and she told me they had too and told me a great book to read about it called "Green Pea Pirates". That's what she means about giving of one's self. I see her and Jack as one personality with 2 facets. They just belong together. Thanks.. This one is very special.
My goodness! What an inspiring lady, such a joy to listen to her, young at heart! I’m listening from Ireland & I had never heard about Jack or Elaine. Thank you AJ ! Like you I had a tear just listening to her beautiful, positive, humble retelling of a wonderful life, well lived ❤❤
Her mind is amazing! ... I am seriously going back lots more to watch the replay again and again on her! I want to give her a hug, and just sit and chat with her for hours. She can't sit still!🤸🏃 Incredible woman! 🥰💗
I've just listened to the replay and been so inspired. I LOVE hearing and reading about older people and what they are still doing. I know for some people because of what life has dealt them they feel old at 60. It is incredible how clear her mind is and how motivated she still is. A lot of her comments and stories pulled me up in my tracks. I am one who has let exercise slip and am paying the price for that. But I am sure if I do a turn around I will be able to make more of my last stretch of life. My father was close to 104 when he passed away and I credit his long life to plenty of hard physical work, always keeping active and my mother's healthy eating meals. She was 97 so I have good genes, I just have to do my part, as Elaine said, it is up to me. Thank you so much for doing this interview with Elaine. I would just like to also commend you AJ for not finishing off her thoughts or sentences. I listened to another interview done with her 3 years ago and the interviewer kept doing this. I think it was an unconscious impatience but how much more respectful it is to let her get her own words out.
AJ, this is just terrific! I knew Jack and Elaine a little bit thru our good friends, Joe and Betty Weider. I was wondering how Elaine was doing, so I googled her, and here you are! Thanks for this great interview! Yes, you would have loved Jack! Both of them have (or had) a huge sense of humor. Wonderful fun people. I asked Jack what his hardest stunt was and he said, "Getting Elaine over the threshold."
What a delightful lady and interview! My mom always exercised to Jack LaLanne and I did to if I was home from school. He would never say 'diet' he would say 'reduce'. My mom would always say, "Lianne, we have to reduce!" 😃💖 So glad to see Elaine Lalanne doing so great! Thanks Chef AJ!
Fantastic, exceptional interview with the living legend, lifestyle extraordinaire, and consummate role model, Elaine Lalanne. May God bless her and her family, and us, with her presence, wisdom and counsel for many years to come. Jack and Elaine Lalanne ARE part of my daily life and can be for anyone: Their wisdom, guidance, instruction, etc. on exercise, foods and nutrition, and all around healthy existence....all part and parcel of living well and healthy. Elaine and Jack, through their full life legacy and library, which Elaine continues to build upon, remain the unparalleled role models for good fitness and wellness. I call it "The Lalanne Life." Thank you! Thank you! for archiving this interview.
Thank you Chef AJ for this interview. I am 71 and grew up watching my mom exercising with Jack Lalanne. She had her chair to hold on to just like Jack did. I remember his German Shepard dog on the show with him. Jack and Elaine have been inspiring to so many of us. AJ, your interviews truly express what Elaine said about your love and caring for your fellow human beings coming through your interviews. Thank you again. ❤️❤️❤️
This was incredible, I had no idea she was still with us. Brings tears to my eyes seeing all the old pics of them together. What a strong and amazing woman. Jack was a beast!
We are blessed to know the beauty of this lady and the legacy that lives on in our hearts. I’m so fascinated by her desire, discipline, drive and determination! Thank you for your life lessons, love, laughter,. Keep shining both of you.
Wow! what a great interview, brought back memories I had not thought about for years, I came to this Country in 1970 over weight, my mother put me on the Jack Lalanne exercise, and food plan, lost weight, but, put it back on after my third child, and have been struggling ever since! this was such a good interview, so inspiring, thank you for sharing this!
I am a lot like her & my belief of the after here, is the same. She is very inspiring as to how I have lived for over 30 years & will hopefully turn out like her in my later years. I would love to be able to communicate with her. Thank you Chef AJ ,for this interview & thank you , Elaine for giving your time to do it. :-)
Chef AJ you keep marveling me on the daily!!! Thank you! ... These 2 interviews today: so so so great! Loved them both soooo much! 💗💗💗 Love love love... Hugs and kale to you! You're an inspiration and a ray of some sunshine in this pandemic! I look forward to seeing what you have on a daily basis! 🥰
So amazing!! I watched Jack all the time growing up. He was such an inspiration! She is just awesome and I’m so thankful you did this interview. You have given us all such a gift!
Wow! I first learned about Paul Bragg when I was 15, now 47. We lived in Russia and my brother subscribed to sports magazines. One of them posted excerpts from Bragg’s book “The miracle of fasting”. Then when my brother and I began practice of fasting. Later on, when we moved to Ukraine, I bought Bragg’s book. I’ve been fasting since late 80’s, mostly time restricted eating. God, thank you, AJ, for bringing in wonderful people! Inspiring! I don’t believe in moderation, but still great info. 🤗🌱👍😘
Thank you Chef AJ for all of your hard work! Thank you for interviewing Mrs. LaLanne! She was so inspiring that I had to do some resistance exercises while watching this interview!!!
(2/2). Just to show people all that is available from the Lalanne website - so many people simply don't know its there - I'm listing here all I have purchased directly from it. Prices are so fair, inexpensive frankly that I'd rather patronize the Lalanne website than go through another vendor. I tell everyone "Follow Jack!" "Follow Elaine!" It's so easy! This is what I have - and its all great! Font sizes, too, are generous so all the books/booklets are easy to read: 1). The Collectors' edition of 10 DVD's - 50 Jack 25 minute exercise shows in total; 2). "Back to Basics for beginners and Older Active Adults," 3). "FACE-A-TONICS," (Jack's facial exercises are amazing and fun and they work!); 4). "The Jack Lalanne Way," 5). "Hydronastics Water Exercises," 6). "Forever Young Exercise At Any Age" with both Jack and Elaine; and 7). many small brochures, and books with exercise for children, expectant mothers and men. 8). -I have the great books -"Cooking with Jack," -Elaine's Juicing book and her recent -"If You Want to Live Move" as well as Elaine's -"DYNASSTRIDE! Complete Walking Program for Fitness After 50," and her two "FITNESS AFTER 50" workout books. And for good measure, I have the Jack Lalanne fitness jacket - great quality - and the great looking and practical black and white Lalanne fitness bag. I hope this list is useful to others.
Chef AJ, I have been thoroughly enjoying your interviews you provide us with. I can't thank you enough for all your time and hard work. This one was particularly enjoyable. Unrelatable question : Would you be able to interview Dr John McDougall? He is someone I admire and would love to hear another interview with him. Thank you again!
Definitely good stuff. But everyone at any age should try to say no meat to save the world if nothing else. There really is no justification at this point and a message has to be sent. Even McDougall with his once a year statement so he can say he is not vegan to send a message that there is more to it than that. Well that is not the way McDougall should send a message. A better message is to say you are vegan to save the world.
Amy Caruthers McDougall deserves accolades but doesn’t mean he’s to be worshipped. That is just one thing that may have been a positive thing for a purpose of the past but does not fit anymore. He can correct himself to even make the bigger point.
That's exactly what I discovered about longevity and aging. In fact, it's all through my book: How I'm Beating the Aging Myths. Elaine is right on and so was Jack.
Amazing lady! She and Jack have been my hero's for years! Thank you for having Elaine on!

Best interview ever. Xxxx
She was born 1 year before the first talking move came out. In other words, movies didn't have dialog when she was born. Waow.
I am a Feldenkrais Practitioner and rely on Dr. Feldenkrais’ motto “Movement is life.”
Interviews crazy kewl
She is so sharp and sweet👍
