    We have a 2014 21' Escape and LOVE IT!!!!!!!! For two people its all you need and even works fine when the two grandkids join us. AWESOME company to work with as well. You can either buy a travel trailer or invest in one and with an Escape I think it's a good investment.

    15 years owning and repairing three Casita travel trailers which are pretty nice but my buddy picked up an Escape and i was sold if i ever buy another glass trailer....... The biggest draw for me besides being glass is the tandem axle..... As a prof. trucker the last 30 years i know the advantage of two axles vs one axle in tires heating up and failing... plus you can always chain up a spindle that may go bad where a single axle your done,,,,,,
    The rest of the trailer inside and out is first class in my opinion

    Thank you for the honest tour. No dry bath. No ducted AC (means bathroom will be a steamroom/sauna in heat areas. Options means more money ($10,000 worth in this case).

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  2 года назад +1

      Glad you enjoyed the tour. You are able to get a nice sized window in the bathroom to help with ventilation and options only mean more money when they are additions to an RV that has been made generically. With Escape you are customizing the trailer. You start with a base shell then you build the rest the way you want. So instead of being forced to pay for things you don't want or need, like you do in the generic build, you get to choose what you spend your money on and may even be saving on a better built trailer. You get to choose. Hope that helps you understand the difference between options on. a custom RV vs options on a generic RV. Thanks for watching

    My buddy has a Bigfoot, similar in size to this unit. If Bigfoot won't let you film then buddy up to someone in a campground as you travel or and review it. Also ask Bigfoot if they will release the name of someone near you who owns one and is willing to let you look at it. Film it with their permission.There might be one for sale near you. Nice reviews. You do an awesome job. Camera man(hubby) is also terrific.

      @DoesSizeMatter  3 года назад +1

      Yes we would love to film a Big Foot. We were very impressed as we took a plant tour. We aren't sure why he will not let us come back to film the units when they are finished but we don't make friends by being annoying so yes we will look for one on a dealership lot as we do with all other models/brands. We have on occasion done an owner's perspective video and we would be happy to do it again. Don't worry we are keeping our eyes open all of the time for an opportunity. It is a tremendous amount of work for us to do all of the research on a unit only to put it away because we can't film so we will pull out the research the moment we can. We are glad you like our reviews. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for watching.

    Damn, I'm seeing red flags with this. A lot of options that are standard on competitor camper trailers. I like it, but after hearing the price point, it seems like they are using standard equipment as options to drive up the mrsp. There are comparable trailers (size/length) with the so called options as standard equipment, plus a dry bath, and tv included, all for a lower mrsp. If this was at least competitively priced, I could deal with with wet bath to have the layout, but with lower priced, better equipped competitors, this is a no go for sure.

      Agreed, it is a small bathroom but it is a small trailer and you still get a bathroom. My question is where would you bring the trailer for any warranty work it may need? I would be more interested in the newer 23' model. Well within the towing range of my vehicle and it ahs the benefit of either twin beds or walk around bed.

    • @takeyourescape
      @takeyourescape 3 года назад +3

      Hi Gerard, we have a dedicated Parts & Service team to help with warranty work. First step would be to give us a call and we can help you to troubleshoot the issue. If this doesn't work, the next step would be to take the trailer to your local RV repair shop (although we require an estimate for repairs before you go get the work done). As much as Escape Trailers are unique, most of the components are ubiquitous across the industry so most shops will be able to do the work.

    I really like the winterizing options. Some day I may look for a model like this 21C, that can extend my outdoor experiences in New Hampshire. With a composting toilet, tank heat pads and under carriage spray foam, that sounds very doable. I also like that , for a shipping fee, Escape would ship to New England. ~ Diane

      The options you can have to use the Escape into colder weather is a spray foam insulation covering over the underbelly and you can have heat mats applied to the tanks. • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  2 года назад +2

      We hear you but it all depends on where and when you are staying in your trailer. It's not so much about hook ups or not. Tanks and fixtures that are not kept warm can still freeze even when you have hook ups. For these trailers you do have the option of heating the tanks and insulating them with an all covering spray on insulation. So if you are planning to use the trailer in cooler climates with or without hook ups it would help. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts

      There is no need for you to make multiple trips to the factory for your custom build, unless you want to. Escape is very proficient at working with their customers personally and directly through video and telephone conversations. They even have folks throughout N.A. that help new buyers by showing them other owners trailers in their area. You would not have to tow over the mountains to pick up your trailer either as Escape will work with you to arrange delivery to wherever you are or maybe just over the mountains for you. • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  2 года назад +1

      Haha but you are wrong. You get the superior construction and engineering of the shell body and systems and floor plans, then you get the luxury of completely customizing the small details to make the trailer exactly what you are looking for so that you don't pay for things that you don't want or are not important to you. That's the beauty of a factory direct purchase you aren't forced into spending and you get exactly what you want.

    Options is also another way of saying overpriced when things are included means less price

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  3 года назад +2

      In this particular situation we can't agree with you. These are trailers you can really customize but they are not one offs. The construction quality is always there and then they allow the buyer to personalize the choices. If the manufacturer went ahead and made all of the decisions for the buyer and then calculated the price of each of those options into the trailer, the price would still be the same in the end, the buyer just wouldn't get a choice on what they want to save or spend on. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching

    I like this trailer, but it seems just about everything is an option.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  2 года назад +3

      This is a great trailer and I get what you mean but what it actually is is a custom trailer. They make each one exactly the way the customer wants so you can make it your own. Other manufacturers that don't do this are mass producing with only a small percentage of what they make being done for specific customers so there is so much less choice. Also other manufacturers will combine their options into packages and then the customer can choose to add the package or not but still doesn't get to pick each thing as a detail. Some folks like the choice others want it made for them. All depends on what you are looking for. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching

      The workmanship on an Escape trailer is actually very good. Nothing is perfect but once you have done as much research as we have and compared as many RVs as we have we are confident you would change your opinion, because you must remember to say in your comments that what you are writing is just your opinion as facts need to be backed up by research and verified by us. Window in bathroom is an option? Too many items are called options! Ridiculous!

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  3 года назад +3

      You might be misunderstanding what is meant by an option, it is the ability to customize your trailer. So it gives you the choice to save money or spend money and get things exactly the way you want it. A choice we don't see buyer's getting very often. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

  • @Hoplite9

    The bathroom is the problem with this unit. Not worth the money. Nice otherwise.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  3 года назад

      For a trailer of this size it is not unusual to have a wet bath although we agree a dry bath would be nice which Escape is coming out with soon. The price is not bad when you compare to other fiberglass shell trailers, otherwise you can't compare these to other types of trailers for many reasons but we always say there is a right RV out there for everyone. Thanks for watching.

    can you imagine if you bought a car with 35 options a Toyota would be $75,000

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  3 года назад

      We aren't sure why you think the options are so expensive? The Toyota does have 35 options they are just called 'included' and calculated into the price you pay and forced on you and then they offer you 'extras' which they mark up even more and they try to make you feel like your Toyota is more special then everyone else's if you are willing to pay the high extras price. With these trailers the buyer gets the choice to save or spend on items even as far as where they go but they get to choose. It's not just a buyer choosing to spend it can also be about a buyer choosing to save.

    I'll buy used pay go

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  3 года назад

      You certainly always have the option to buy used, if you can find one. Used Escape trailers are hard to come by and the company itself helps owners to resell their trailers so watch their site carefully to get one. Unfortunately, the used market doesn't have much for good stock in it right now as lots of folks don't want to wait the standard wait times of any manufacturer. Unfortunately, as consumers we are just caught up in the supply and demand problem. As we don't deal in the car market we can't really say but we do know that the truck market is suffering the same kinds of wait times due to difficulty getting parts and the huge increase in demand. Hope that helps you to understand. Thanks for watching

    Looks like a budget Oliver, but without the benefits of being an Oliver. Money trap.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  2 года назад +1

      We have not yet reviewed the Oliver to do an actual comparison but from what we do know these are very comparably built trailers so if the price on the Escape is less we would call it a win and a money saver. These trailers are for sure not a money trap as they stand the test of time over and over. We do find that when we see comments like this it is usually from someone biased who knows very little about an Escape trailer and has a financial gain to make by pushing buyers to an Oliver. If you have real factual information to support your opinion we would be happy to review it.

    • @DoesSizeMatter
      @DoesSizeMatter  2 года назад +1

      We have heard no complaints or problems with the arm being a tripping hazard so we can't call something a problem if no one is having a problem with it. The Escape trailers meet all safety standards and are very well built and very popular trailers so no reason to create fear where none exists. Thanks for watching
