Their bodies are also on life support, IV and force feeding tubes, catheters, diapers. Their muscles are wasting away, their bone density is dropping and they aren’t even halfway through the game.
One they miss their families and want to get home, 2 their bodies are rotting in an atrophed state, 3 even grinding you end up risking your life so might as well risk it for some gain. Also, as an MMO player, imagine if there were no online resources and you were playing for your first time, do you really think you would reach max level deathless never wander into some high level are by mistake. If that's true, the best way to beat SAO would be to find the lowest level player and load them up with great gear so they can murder the boss. And in cases where the boss room doesn't seal, everyone else can be waiting just outside to jump it.
