Do you think new development fees will create and increase in new build property prices?

Development charges do not go towards parks etc.... That's what the CIL charge is for and distributed to a the ward and City wide coffers.

This affects women disproportionately! Women are safe in parks compared to near houses and roads.

The 25% rent withhold issues seems to be settled.
On May 17th 2024, the Minster of National Revenue (Marie-Claude Bibeau) tweeted that "the CRA doesn't intend to collect any portion of any non-resident landlords' unpaid taxes from individual tenants"
I think the backlash forced them (for once) to cave to common sense. They didn't explain how to square this with the recent court case though.

What happened to this country and to this city it’s crazy. Sold my home for financial reasons in 2020 same house now sells 60% more! Something needs to happen to bring affordability again

Poor city of Ottawa starving for more money. They increase our property taxes, install speed cameras, increase parking fees and fines. Now increase development fees. What is next? How much more do they need? Guess someone has to pay for our garbage LRT. Forcing everyone back full time to the office should force them to use LRT more and their cars less, especially us East Ender's that always have train breakdowns. Good luck getting Mark Sutcliffe to answer any of your emails. He is non responsive.
