Thank you for all of your warnings. I love that you don't skip the book but explain what's inside so there are no surprises if we don't want our kids to be bombarded before they are ready. Really appreciate the book recs as it's really hard to find things worthwhile anymore.
Love this list and the warnings. We loooove the Martian. We did the young reader edition as well, but I still wouldn't let my 10yo daughter mention it as a favorite she read this year in your book club class😂😂 I know it was a bit old for her, but she probably loved it the most of anyone. She is now on a huge space kick, so it really made an impact.
@@maryhannawilson I didn't want other 8to10 yo to maybe pick up the original/adult version and start reading it because "someone in their class said it was a favorite!" Lol.

It is such an excellent book! And there’d be only love if she mentioned it 🤣 but I get that choice. I love when a book lights them up!!

We love the entire Heartwood Hotel series! It's the only read-aloud we've tried this year that both of my kids like.
I've only read the first one - good to know the rest of the series is good as well!
