  • In this episode we finally arrive at Aus, from where we explore the surrounding desert in search of the Namib's elusive wild horses.
We end up taking a day trip out to Luderitz, the little town on the Atlantic coast, famous for the diamond 'Sperregebiet' that surrounds it where you can visit the remains of the once thriving diamond town, Kolmanskoppe, now turned to a ghost town.
We head over to Agate beach and after exploring the town we drive out to Grosse Bucht, Big Bay, and on to Diaz Point where the famous Diaz Cross or Padrao stands below the red and white lighthouse.

My cousin was the first filmmaker to bond with those feral horses and he made a wonderful film about them. He is a natural horse whisperer who can "speak equine" with gestures and body language. Klein Aus Vista is engraved on my bucket list. The Gondwana Collection is renowned worldwide.

Fantastic, certainly giving us a taste of Namibia. Maybe in the next couple of years, back to Kruger in November for three weeks .

We lived at Diaz Point in the late 1960's. My dad was a lighthouse keeper there

It was too beautiful.... we didn't even think of hats. But yes, we've had to get the sunscreen out a few times now as well. Thanks for watching, glad you're enjoying 😊
