I have a friend who I occasionally play with and he always takes this spot for his base, but he never does anything cool like this. He tends to just fill the entire cave with foundation.

Really beautyful and smart ! Everytime i change my base for good defense but it's for sure the better place and a very good middle.
And about the construction....now i see all i do like a ugly think ! :D (not true before i watch your video)
