Used to be a huge Starbucks fan for like 20 years. Visited frequently, loved the warm environment. Little by little the brand started to change. No more comfy leather seating for girls night out or warm environment for a fun treat for the kids. Coffee quality went down and tasted burnt. Prices went up, they ruined the rewards. You used to have a month to redeem your birthday reward, then it went down to a week, then 3 days, then only same day. They were cheaping out on their frequent customers. Renovations made them look sterile and modern instead of warm and welcoming...with the overpriced bad coffee, snotty barista's, uncomfortable modern chairs, brighter lighting. Started to feel likey they forgot about us lifers that helped them grow and sll they focused on were the teens with all those ridiculously weird drinks. It all just became a hard no for me. 20 years of never going to Dunkin Donuts because i thought it was trash in comparison to Starbucks, but i like Dunkin now. Not for hanging out, but just a quick grab and go. Coffee is actually better (strong but not burnt) and it's much easier on the wallet. The rewards are also way better. If i want a girls night out with the girls we visit a local coffeehouse and support small business. Bye Starbucks. You just don't check any boxes off my list anymore.
You people talk as if you are living in some 3rd world country without any basic amenities. Are Americans with their big houses filled with stuff not comfortable? If you were going out regularly....it means that you had enough to cough up on these things in the past....why wouldn't you have a get together in the comfort of your own house? Spending money regularly on trinkets for years and then complaining about rising prices is something that only a financially illiterate person can say.
I agree. Starbucks used to be a nice coffee shop where you could sit and relax and collect your thoughts. Now that's all gone. And if I just want a coffee to go, I'll order it from Dunkedons or McDonald's.
I stopped going to Starbucks.....its just too expensive for a mediocre drink and re-heated food. I used to easily spend 1-1.5k a year there. Instead i bought a super fancy machine and make it at home.

I'm German, and my first encounter with Starbucks was at the headquarters of a company I worked with in 2006. Everybody had access to free coffee near their offices, there was a cafeteria selling somewhat better coffee at 1 € - and a Starbucks at the entrance of the building that was usually packed at the end of lunch breaks. Some people went there every day, waiting 10 to 20 minutes to spend over 3 € for coffee plus some for an absurdly priced cookie every day. If you have a brand making people do that, dilution and overexpansion will ruin everything.
if someone makes 6k a month, they won't bother brewing a coffee at home, rather would go downstairs in the office and get one 2 shot starbucks coffee to start the day.
I think they like the additives, sugar and all the ultra-processed stuff that they put in coffee. It must be that right? Otherwise, if they really want to drink real coffee, why wouldn't they go literally anywhere else, like I do.
All hot coffee… It's not just paper; it's laced with polyethylene plastic, a barrier that keeps your coffee from soaking through. Shockingly, a study revealed that in just 15 minutes, hot liquids can leach 25,000 microplastic particles into your cup. Yet, we rarely question it.

My wife and I frequent a variety of local coffee shops and have our favorite drinks with all of them, not just one. Regarding the incident of those arrested, it’s not a bus-stop but a place of business, so I don’t think Starbucks was out of line in asking them to leave if they weren’t paying customers. What they were doing is basically called loitering, which interferes with paying customers who are entitled to the comforts of the business. Those arrested should have left or bought something to justify their presence and not turned into something racial when they’re the ones who created the problem.

The baristas are trained to foam the milk as much as possible to make it full up the cup. That way, the lattes and cappucinos need less milk. It's the synonymous trick with the soft drinks and ice
I disagree. It's up to you to know the difference between drinks and how they're made. You can even modify the drinks to your choosing. Go to their site and witness this. 7-Eleven coffee has always had a silent but large following. Back in the 80s, I worked at a 7-Eleven, and they beat it into my head to never have a pot of coffee on the warmers more than 30 minutes old, and when working graveyard shift, to have all the cooler and dry goods shelves stocked and faced by 4 am, to mop the floors around 4:30, and then to start making coffee between 5:00 and 5:15 am. And to keep at least 4-5 full pots on the Bundt warmers, plus 1 pot of decaf. And sure enough, the coffee rush would start coming in by 5:40 am, and it was all I could do to keep up with making coffee and running the cash register until the end of my shift at 7 am. I would always combine the coffee pots and start another fresh pot before I punched out, because the coffee rush would go until 9 am; later on the weekends. You would not believe how fast the coffee would run out at a 7-Eleven!
Can we define Starbucks as a coffee brand anymore with over $1.8 billion in customer deposits through Starbucks apps and cards? It's a bank that pays no interest for the deposit, which is any bank's dream.
I'll stop at a Dunkin Donuts for coffee before Starbucks. The coffee has always tasted like their beans are roasted too long (tastes burnt). Ive gotten the same feedback from others as well.

I swear: I have never been to Starbucks and will ne er go, the average cost of a brewed coffee at Starbucks is around $2.50 to $4.50, depending on the size and any customizations. It all depends on what you're drinking. Sure it's less expensive at home although you do have to buy beans which varies in cost significantly, depending on company, source, roast style, etc. The type of machine or apparatus to brew adds to the cost, from minimal to expensive with varying results. If you're buying ground coffee, it's basically stale when you purchase it. Whole beans require a quality grinder to achieve the best results, this adds to the cost significantly. If you're into espresso base drinks this adds a whole different aspect to making it along with much higher costs. While I'm certainly not supporting SB, there is more to it than it looks. If you've never even tried SB in any aspect, you don't have the knowledge to remark accurately. While I'll go to SB occasionally, I know the nuances and adjust my drink request accordingly. Personally I search out a local craft shop that usually is less expensive and offers a better tasting beverage along with a more pleasant atmosphere.

Chemicals involved in farming non-organic coffee are extremely dangerous for the workers to handle. In addition to that, they can also cause both short-term and long-term health diseases to both the coffee farmers and us as consumers.
It really IS bad tasting coffee. Although I do like their "Veranda" and "Veranda Decaf" flavors. I can't drink any other kind of Starbucks coffee though, and would rather buy Crockett Coffee or Black Rifle Coffee.
I worked for Star-B’s many years ago and enjoyed learning the craft of coffee making. Not anymore. Whoever says Starbucks is “bad tasting coffee” is disillusioned. You cannot open stores consistently, for YEARS, with folks dropping $5.00 - $7.00 US dollars per drink, sometimes, two times PER DAY! I can’t watch the full documentary. But I had to address the luring title.☕️
It's commendable that Chinese people have worked to preserve their culture of drinking tea or coffee, leading to Starbucks creating its biggest roastery outside the US in China. In contrast, in India, we tend to imitate Western culture. Consequently, I believe Starbucks may not face any challenges in establishing itself in India.
A white guy can sell literally ANYTHING to an Indian. Most Indians are desperate to be seen as someone who has "taste" and the money to throw at overpriced stuff.....if that is something that will showcase to the others his/her "refined" taste and status. There are innumerable local food items, from every state that are way better and unique than anything from the West.....but most Indians simply do not know how to glamourize, market and sell their good stuff.
Difference is Starbucks is using machine to make coffee and I also use a machine to make coffee at my home but I use better quality and freshly roasted coffee beans while Starbucks coffee beans are cheaper quality and stale so coffee at Starbucks doesn’t taste good . I make my own coffee at home as my coffee quality is 1000 times better than Starbucks
I think coffee taste is very subjective. As a Seattle resident, I was a Starbucks customer long before they became the behemoth they currently are. Many other coffee companies opened up over the decades but I can't say any were better or worse than Starbucks. I go there for the food as much for the coffee and this is where they shine in my opinion. Doing a drive thru for a protein box is far healthier than for fries and a Big Mac.
I have tried espresso, cappucino (not at Starbucks) and found out that an self-made coffee at home tasted way better :))) I think Starbucks make people feel they are rich and proud by spending more money on something, the company's philosophy is to focus more on the customers' feelings than the taste, which contains a lot of psychological tricks inside.
If Starbucks continue its Arrogance it will again go down . In India Starbucks have 400 hundred stores in all Stores one thing is common that you first pay for the order then wait for your name to be called then you have to pickup your oder yourself .All other cafe serve you on your table like Coasta coffee, The coffee beans and tea leaf, local cafe like coffee cafe Day ,Third Wave etc. There prices are cheaper than 25% to % 50% with a Quality coffee they are rising more than Starbucks . But Starbucks continue sticking to its Self service policy Which is very very Disturbing : because Starbucks thinks they are the Global company why to care for local needs this is nothing but " Arrogance " .
Never mentioned the unions or the lawsuits or the recent Starbucks v.mckinney from Memphis where equity somehow supersedes the NLRA NLRB discretion despite having congress codify the statue
i rarely go to starbucks, but when i do, it's for any drink that doesn't include coffee. i'd rather go to tim's. at least i pay commensurately for what i get vs paying for a bougie brand.
Starbucks coffee - the worst place to get a nice coffee if you know how good coffee actually tastes. Thankfully enough, very few people in the US know anything beyond the taste of drip coffee - which is actually quite good across the US, I think. I’ve found that adding milk to nice drip coffee at a decent American diner gets me a great coffee compared to anything Starbucks can make except for the frothed milk. Drip coffee if made well is very close to filter coffee. Maybe it’s because I was spoiled by coffee in India, Europe and Australia - India is sprinkled with awesome little coffee shops that make the world’s best (cold) filter coffee, usually filtered overnight for that brilliant flavour and aroma. Australia is espresso country - especially Melbourne - and has thousands of Italian family-run cafes that make excellent coffee, and of course in Europe coffee is a revered drug surpassed occasionally by alcohol in its popularity. Perhaps that is why Starbucks failed in Australia and struggles in India. Doesn’t bother me anyway - I got over my caffeine addiction over a decade ago.
How does saying no to a bunch of squatters who haven’t paid for their time in any form at a restaurant/cafe amount to racial discrimination? Yeah maybe ask them to politely leave & not call the cops on them but It’s not a refugee or homeless shelter. 🤷🏽♂️
Buck is an informal reference to $1 that may trace its origins to the American colonial period when deerskins (buckskins) were commonly traded for goods. The buck also refers to the U.S. dollar as a currency that can be used both domestically and internationally.
I’ve never got into their crazy sweet drinks, horrible food etc., but their French Roast, Italian Roast, Espresso Roast and Sumatra are all nice beans/roasts. I bounce between these and several Brazilian brands that I enjoy. Starbucks medium/light roasts are not for me, but I continue to enjoy the mentioned offerings (for >25 years). Ty for posting this (although click baitee title).
I suppose, lousy service, overpriced bad coffee, no table service is a lifestyle choice too. It has nothing to do with Italian coffee, or decent coffee in countries with a long-standing coffee culture. An Italian would avoid Starbucks as the plague. Starbucks grew so fast due to availability bias.. In America MacDonalds is called food and Starbucks called coffee.
Prior to the pandemic, a chocolate ship frapp was filled with favor.. last time I had one post pandemic, it felt more like shaved iced with a lot less flavor and bare lay any chips inside, with tip, 8 dollars, yeah a bit overpriced tbh
The quality of product of Starbucks in Philippines is really downgraded compare for example in Japan. My girlfriend is from Japan and she compared the difference of taste of product back from her country and in Philippines.
Stating that Starbucks serves quality coffee is like stating that McDonalds serves quality hamburgers. Unfortunately, the masses (especially true for Americans) prefer consistency over quality every time.
Demasiado mercadeo.
The last time I was forced to go to Starbucks was when my catalytic converter was stolen from my car while I was at work. The only place to go whilst we waited for the tow truck. Miserable day from start to finish including the time I had to spend at the place sipping on basic black overpriced swill.
Sbux isn't bad coffee; it's a good example of a certain kind of coffee--dark, over-roasted, heavy and bitter--the kind of brew that goes well with desserts. On its own, yeah, it's terrible.
It can. You pump enough sugar in your product that is already addicting, and build a location so convenient that everyone just goes there and people will buy from you by volume. Good quality coffee doesn't need sugar.
There are 3 Starbucks in my resort town in the Mountain West. All 3 located inside larger retail outfits. I dont have a taste , or need , for trendy , bad-tasting coffee. I cant help but notice that the people waiting in line always seems to be 80 , even 90% female. Rarely males. Interesting.
I have never seen anyone order a black cup of coffee and drink it because it is so bitter ! You have to put all kind of stuff in it to make it taste good that is sugar .

Everyone had/has to have a home which is too big, and looks like a famous celebrities home with a massive master suite, and a $30k Gordon Ramsay kitchen.. yet they're out eating at restaurants most of the time, and or out shopping.. and being home is viewed as boring..
Society is just far too easy to manipulate
I make better coffee at home.
Practically anyone can.....it's not rocket science.
But I appreciate how this company was able to convince people to spend crazy money for something as simple as coffee.
These guys are marketing and brainwashing geniuses.
That's sad. 😂
The only thing I ask for when I go to Starbucks is if anyone knows where I could go to get a good coffee.
Everything tastes great when you add enough sugar
Never had a coffee from there. Can’t imagine why anyone would.
Love this title 👍
It's Savage😅
Starbucks sucks these days, in Indonesia local coffee much better in taste and much cheaper price
@@cag19549 Far better than a Big Mac and Fries.
Thank you for sharing and hope they will make smoothie with real fruits
Very good film ✅
Never mentioned the unions or the lawsuits or the recent Starbucks v.mckinney from Memphis where equity somehow supersedes the NLRA NLRB discretion despite having congress codify the statue
i rarely go to starbucks, but when i do, it's for any drink that doesn't include coffee. i'd rather go to tim's. at least i pay commensurately for what i get vs paying for a bougie brand.
There is only one Starbucks coffee which is drinkable: caramel. The rest of it is worse than folgers!
I remember the smell of an omelette at Starbucks 😢 in 2009
..Bangladesh🤝🏻China...........
..Bangladesh🤝🏻Saudi Arab..
Peet’s Coffee still is better.
100% times over🎉🎉🎉🎉
I suppose, lousy service, overpriced bad coffee, no table service is a lifestyle choice too. It has nothing to do with Italian coffee, or decent coffee in countries with a long-standing coffee culture. An Italian would avoid Starbucks as the plague. Starbucks grew so fast due to availability bias.. In America MacDonalds is called food and Starbucks called coffee.
Perhaps the coffee is so bitter so you are forced to buy all the frapucino/coccocino mixtures to soften it.
Coffee in vietnam is amazing especially coconut coffee in Hoi An 🥰🥰🥰
I like their blonde roast coffee beans. Still cheaper than some of these other bags (I make it at home and it’s a safe one to buy)
imagine my homemade thermosbottle of coffee is worth 35 dollar. hahaha
Brilliant Thank you
Prior to the pandemic, a chocolate ship frapp was filled with favor.. last time I had one post pandemic, it felt more like shaved iced with a lot less flavor and bare lay any chips inside, with tip, 8 dollars, yeah a bit overpriced tbh
Starbucks chooses : LOCATION - LOCATION - LOCATION
China is no one play ground ask Tesla, ebay and most western companies.
The quality of product of Starbucks in Philippines is really downgraded compare for example in Japan. My girlfriend is from Japan and she compared the difference of taste of product back from her country and in Philippines.
I agree with the haters, it’s not the best tasting coffee but billions of people disagree. They built coffee culture around the world. They won.
I cant tell the difference between starbucks coffee and McDonald coffee lo
McCafé Coffee tastes better and cheaper
WAY WAY WAY overpriced and they cant understand this simple rule of business. Cut your prices in half.
42:44 nice
Stating that Starbucks serves quality coffee is like stating that McDonalds serves quality hamburgers. Unfortunately, the masses (especially true for Americans) prefer consistency over quality every time.
Too expensive it’s good great coffee but too high
Demasiado mercadeo.
We do not drink poison but great video thanks 😎
The last time I was forced to go to Starbucks was when my catalytic converter was stolen from my car while I was at work. The only place to go whilst we waited for the tow truck. Miserable day from start to finish including the time I had to spend at the place sipping on basic black overpriced swill.
Sbux isn't bad coffee; it's a good example of a certain kind of coffee--dark, over-roasted, heavy and bitter--the kind of brew that goes well with desserts. On its own, yeah, it's terrible.
Normal Starbucks has awful coffee but Starbucks Reserve is amazing. S.R has small lot seasonal coffee that’s better than most other coffee out there.
Starbucks is not a bad coffee. It’s ok and better than most coffee shops in big cities. Hazelnut Oatmilk shaken spresso is amazing.
That's not a coffee though
@@pierrex3226 Hazelnut Oatmilk expresso has 3 shots of espresso, my friend.
I use to go to a pure expresso or americano. 3 expresso shots and water. Hazelnut Oatmilk Expresso is a mix, pretty nice in my opinion
Sbux share price plummeting, plan to short it, hope this documentary helps
Starbucks is no longer a "third place". The furniture is now designed to be uncomfortable to make you leave sooner or get the coffee to go.
bad testing... well, first you need absolute no-taste customers. thats why coffee business in Europe is on diff level
Tim Hortons much better taste and costs less
The title of this video makes me laugh... How can a 22B dollar Company have a bad product
In the Philippines, SB is like a wet and dry market 😅. too noisy!
❤ Agee 100%. This is what I have thought for long.
They actually make coffee, the people working at Starbucks dont even make coffee. After being in Italy, the Starbucks coffee is horrible.
I know a lot of sugar in it, but can I say can I have double chocolate chip Frappuccino that’s my favourite one❤
I get my coffee at Sheetz ❤ they have good coffee there also good food
Coffee guaranteed to give you the shiiiiiiiitz
I don't care how good or cheap they make the coffee. I will never buy from Starbucks again because of what Howard Schultz did with the Supersonics.
I do like Starbucks upside down caramel macchiato- that said, I’ve always thought that people who frequent Starbucks don’t like coffee, they like sugar.
Why does this video have constant background music? What is the purpose? What does it contribute except irritation, frustration and the temptation to disconnect?
OLD Starbuck wasnt bad but past 15 yrs when their CEO and management made hundred millions per yr and average joe paid 10 dollars bad coffee supported their paycheck.
Taking advantage of the people who are faking it till they make it crowd.Crooked and crowded.
Really good documentary, by the way. The cultural differences around coffee between the US and China was really interesting.
It's the place that drawn me it.
customers at starbucks will always come because they are paying for the experience not the coffee ☺☺💯
$3 for a cup of asphalt........no thanks.
Starbucks coffee make me happy 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
In my opinion, just about any decent convenience store sells coffee that is WAY better than the Starbucks I remember. Actual coffee. Not the bizarre mixtures of Hipster Juices. 😉
Glad in Australia there are like 4 starbucks only for tourists with bad taste lol,
Never liked them, Caribou much better
I spent 6 years in the Twin Cities area when I first tried Caribou. Was my go to for a chain coffee shop, their coffee didn't taste burnt. When I moved away and couldn't find one near, I truly missed it.
Starbucks just got too big, they should have slowed or stopped their growth, and increased the dividend on their stock.
Starbucks expensive.
Yep we started calling it MegaBucks coffee!
