  • This video will demonstrate step by step guide to how an alpine ski binding is mounted onto skis. Required items are a pair of skis, bindings, a proper ski binding jig, correct size binding mount drill bit, binding screw glue, posi drive screwdriver, and most importantly the boot that will be worn when skiing in this ski set up.
It is recommended to have the bindings mounted on the skis by a certified ski technician who has gone under training to mount and calibrate ski bindings by whichever brand of bindings you own.
Ski bindings must be calibrated after being mounted on the skis. Binding calibration video can be seen here:

After cleaning the debris left from drilling we always place the jig back over the holes to insure the tap is lined up straight. When you free make those first few turns free style it is possible you could slightly angle the tap.

you also risk putting the jig back on at a slighty different location and causing distortion too... maybe we should try to clear the debris with the jig on???

Im curious. Can you go and ski the same day you put the bindins? Or is it better to leave the skis for 1 day so the glue can glue at 100%?

I would say most glue takes 24 hours to fully cure.

Could you please tell me which glue you are using? Is the glue type very important or I can use ordinary wood glue? Thanks for the video

Hi, I’m not the video creator ….but I’ve mounted many, many skis. Just a good wood glue is all you need. I use Gorilla brand. Have never pulled a screw out prematurely. .

Been having some issues mounting the marker bindings this year ie squire/griffon. No matter what I do I still end up with a very minute but barely visible light under the base plate. Any ideas on hetting it flush. Ive tried a lot of different techniques already.

Seeing light under the binding plates is not uncommon, what we would suggest is to check the area where the screws go in, you don't want to see light shining through where screws go in. If you see light under the plates (especially by the ends of the plate), that's okay as long as the screws are all the way in solid (make sure not to over torque the screws and cause them to start spinning). Having said all that, last step is to get it release function tested. If it passes the test then you're solid because the calibration machine outs an enormous amount of pressure on the bindings and if they were not mounted correctly, they would rip right off the skis.

Does Stick Docs have the jig for mounting Tyrolia/Head PowerRails?

Do different bindings not have different hole spots so wouldn't the template not work for all bindings?
