Alfie to protect your white shoes from water (and hopefully mud or dirt too) just rub a candle over them. Like the wax of the candle (not when it's hot obviously) If they get dirty anyway mix half a cup of bicarbonate of soda and one cup of water to make a paste kinda thing and then use a toothbrush and scrub it. After that leave any left over paste on and put your shoes in the sun for a couple hours then just rub off any dried bicarbonate powder off and they should be clean again.
