Hi! I love your marshmallow Bertha! I’m a big fan of the LB Pullover by Paper Theory. It would colour block really well and is very simple so easy to hack - especially with your skills! 💜
Very pretty colours. Agree on the cardigan patterns or lack of! I don’t have access to pdf printing so I can’t find any paper ones. I love cardigans! 😂
I love your Bertha cardigan! I sized up on the waist and doubled the width of the neckband so I can close it better and it keeps me warm. Threadcount has released 4-in-1-pullover which is suitable for french terry and colour blocking
Such a nice video, thanks for posting it, you kept me company while sewing some Avery Leggins! :) I personally love the Gemma Sweater from Named, it has a rather boxy fit with drawstring waist but what I like most about it is the possibilty in the front to colorblock, which would maybe fit well with the leftovers from your cardigan. Thanks for always making such inspiring videos, I really appreciate it. Take care!
I really like that you showed your cutting out process! Gosh, your cardi turned out so pretty! I'm glad you mentioned some of the difficulties, like finding good fabric and patterns, and finishing details. It makes me feel better knowing it's not just me! All of your cardigans look so cozy and professional!
I love the colour combinations in this cardigan - I have recently bought the book and have yet to make the Bertha. I’d be interested in seeing your other Bertha’s too.
I love the colour combo. Just about to make this cardigan for the first time.I’ve chosen slub jersey. Hacki. I’m torn between what size to pick. Going a bit larger. As I figure it’s easier to reduce.
Thank you for the inspiration Kealy! I have some leftover ponte in several colours. I never know what to do with these under 1metre pieces. Watching this I feel they would make a great Bertha!
A gorgeous cardigan Kealy , very pretty and I love it , definately good to watch , the bottom edge can be a pain I agree , keeping it straight is always a challenge ! Personally I love the grainline linden sweatshirt , I have made four in total and will be making two more when the fabric arrives , they are so comfy to wear and a relaxed look , you do have to watch the neckline because it can be a bit wider but I just alter the S/A on that part, definately a easy make ! Thankyou for sharing , very enjoyable as always ...🌈
Kealy this is absolutely beautiful. Love, love love the colours!!! I think you’re right it will go perfectly with jeans or trackies 🌸 I really must put this book down on my Christmas wish list 😊
I love listening to your accent, it takes me back to when I was at uni, UWE in Bristol, and everyone I lived with were from the around the west country ❤️ loving the cardigan and the marshmallow colours 😍 you've really inspired me to make a cardigan or hoody
That was such a helpful video, Kealy. Love the cardigan, although I think the heavier terry gives it more the look of a jacket, which opens up even more possibilities doesn't it! Really appreciate the effort you have made in making the video for us at a this very tough time for you. Very best wishes.
Kealy have you tried The Cocoon Cardigan by Jalie. I've made it a couple of times now in some lovely drapey knit (similar to the blue knit you wear in this video). Its really cozy and snuggly. I'm going to try it is a more stable knit next. I too wear a cardigan everyday to work and this is a great cardi pattern for that and chucking on in the evening over loungewear.
Great make and colours on the Bertha! Have you checked out Andrea from Beyond the Pink Door, she absolutely loves the Harper Cardigan by Sinclair patterns and I believe it’s free!! 👏👏
Voice of a Creative I forgot to mention also the Lulu cardigan by Patternscout (not free)? Again, this is another that Andrea loves, shorter with either buttons/poppers ? , just a thought! 😀
I really like that cardigan it looks excellent on you could you please tell me what pattern you used. Again that cardigan looked really nice on you take care and have a good day.
I just use a straight stitch with a length of 4. This works well in my machine, its worth testing it out on your machine on jersey fabrics before you do it on the garment.
I highly recommend the Hug Hoodie from Made It patterns, it would look great in the colour blocking, I've made a few which you can see @sewcrabbybee on insta; really great and easy pattern. Love the colours, remind me of refresher bars and chewy sweets
I wanted to make this, but will not buy a whole book. Maybe it will be released on its own. I bought the boyfriend cardigan pattern and the canyon cardigan pattern . .
So lovely to talk sewing with all the craziness in the world! Thank you Kealy!
It is nice to escape and watch sewing videos for a little isn’t it 🙂😀
Great job and beautiful colours. I love the Bertha cardigan but I think I would want it a bit longer.
I have seen a lengthened version in instagram. I do want to give it a try.

Ahh yes they would. Its so tricky when you have smaller pieces left over 😀
A gorgeous cardigan Kealy , very pretty and I love it , definately good to watch , the bottom edge can be a pain I agree , keeping it straight is always a challenge !

Aww thats lovely 😊 totally go for it!!
Thanks
I really like Hey June's Sheridan sweater. It is a basic shape but then has bishop sleeves.
Ahh sounds great I will take a look. ☺️
That was such a helpful video, Kealy. Love the cardigan, although I think the heavier terry gives it more the look of a jacket, which opens up even more possibilities doesn't it! Really appreciate the effort you have made in making the video for us at a this very tough time for you. Very best wishes.
Glad you liked it. It does look more like a jacket, there are so many possibilities 😀
Lovely!
Great video - this is such a good pattern :) love the fabrics you used.
Thanks, it is such a lovely pattern 😀

I have seen that one, its on my list to considering for cardigan purchases. I will look again though 😀
Great make and colours on the Bertha! Have you checked out Andrea from Beyond the Pink Door, she absolutely loves the Harper Cardigan by Sinclair patterns and I believe it’s free!! 👏👏
I will have a look, so good if its free. 😀

Thanks 😊 Its linked in the information below the video. Its a Bertha cardigan by Tilly and the Buttons.
If you’re looking for some good color block patterns I definitely recommend checking out Ellie and Mac. They have really great options.
Oh yes, thanks I will have a look☺️😀
iwould like to see the Billie make please.
The Going Home sweater by Love Notions, or the Rockford Raglan from Love Notions for the leftover fabric.
Thanks for your suggestions I will have a look 😀
😀
Lovely!!! Did you pre shrink your fabric?
I pre washed it, on a 30 degree wash thats it.
Hi, I love your Bertha cardigan, the colours look so nice together. Can I ask, what stitch did you use for your top stitching? ☺️

I bought the boyfriend cardigan pattern and the canyon cardigan pattern .
.
Yes its tricky when you don’t necessarily want the other patterns in the book.
Thanks for the recommendation I will have a look. 😀
That batwing style just doesn't seem good longer.
Thats a shame I did wonder why I haven’t seen a cardigan like this longer.
It looks really lovely, loving the colours together.x
Thanks 😊
