The bit with Hatori huuuurts, cuz you can tell he’d love to go on a trip with mayu but at this point I don’t think they were 100% a thing, and going on a trip with her would just mean she’d most likely find out about the curse and it pains him that it might not work out with her just like it didn’t work out with kana☹️☹️💔💔
I liked it too, it tricked the audience into thinking they were looking at Hatsuharu’s thread, so when it turns out to be Momiji it was much more of a shock.
I wasn't sure how they were going to make this episode but I was actually very happy with it. I'm thinking maybe what they're doing is setting up a stage, showing how everybody in their own way it's moving forward and looking for happiness outside of Akito..?? Maybe?? Even Shigure is getting annoyed with her and it almost looks like he's ready to just give up on her. 🤷🏻♀️
I'm so relieved. Chapter 111 and 116 were covered here. And like the last four pages of chapter 115. So only two chapters again. Looks like I really had nothing to worry about for this one.
I cried too, and those are my favorite chapters too. I love Momiji so much. I think the arrangement is okay for narrative sake, but I was expecting it later. I think the relationship clips in the beginning were as you said, how the curse holds people back but even Momiji doesn't get everything that he wants. But also the possibility of happiness they can find out there.
I know why the beginning of the series like some minor scenes from multiple chapters put it in one episode. Time is running out for the cursed Sohma because what Akito said that they will be with them for the rest of their lives. There is no escape to them like Ayame wanted to be with Mine, Hatori needs more happiness with Mayu and Yuki wants to tell Machi the truth. Time is really is ticking until they stop. But when Momiji curse is broken, I believe there is a chance that time moves forward with nowhere to stop and start over. I think this theme of this episode is that Everything is changing for physically and mentally... PS. I am manga reader as well 😉😉😉
It definitely makes sense and I did like the way they did it in the anime. I even wonder if Natsuki Takaya decided it would be better to tell the story like this? After all, once the manga chapter its written, you cant change the story around? *mild spoilers* Having read through the chapters again with Yuki/Machi and Ayame/Mine, I do wonder if they skip those stories. Because, are they that important really? Once more I feel like a 13 episode season is more and more likely :( I do feel without those scenes (and a couple more - i.e. Manabes gf/Thoru story, everyone knowing about Kyoru - are those really needed for the rest of the story?) they could do the last big arc within the next 10 episodes? Would be super sad, and I still hope we get to see everything. Fingers crossed
me too! i read the manga and yet i still teared up with this episode..you just kinda feel for momiji. and what he did for tohru, telling kyo to man up, is the definition of true love. damn momiji is such good person
Your reactions and previews are always my favorite girlie 🥰 thank you for being such a momiji stan, we need more of those in the fandom for our bunny boy! 😇
I think they mixed the chapters to build a clear contrast between shigure and the rest of the zodiac members and to showcase how deeply they long for relationships and love outside the bond, which shigure doesn't (edit: he wants akito). Also I think it serves the purpose to hint at this longing (edit: and the fact that deeply in his heart, he doesn't accept his fate, my theory on hatoris breaking first is that he was the first one with a very weak bond which also caused him to feel and react so extremely submissive and guilty) being the cause of momijis curse breaking...or maybe I'm just seeing things but I felt this way :D IT WAS SO INTENSE
This is wild for sure, It gave us nothing but tears wetting in a pillow despite some respite of humour, we want Momiji to be happy, glad he told Akito to f off that he has his own future ahead. It's also great to hear the japanse seiyuu of Akito's dad being beautifully done as ever
I remember reading that part of the manga the first time, and it made perfect sense (also I loved Momiji so much, and I screamed with joy, and was secretly glad he was left single so I could marry him). Momiji is the least entangled with Akito, and the strongest, bravest and wisest. OF COURSE it would be him. He's not very dramatic but he's so well developed inside.
I'm split on this episode... While I loved all they stuff they adapted, the stuff they cut worries me. I don't think we'll get those back. I also think Momiji's story was a bit fast, and I found the three scenes in the beginning odd, and I'm wondering if they'll cut the Ayame shop content completely since they showed that important scene here. So as a manga reader, I'm disappointed that this wasn't adapted as well as the majority of the rest of the show has been, but I can appreciate the episode as an adaptation.
Oh yeah one last thing. I really do believe that Tohru love for the Soma Family is truly one of main clues. Of How to Find a way to get the Zodiac Cruse to be Broken. After all after we need to pay attention to the main clues of figuring the whole thing out for getting the Zodiac Cruse to be Broken. If you have ever studies this main clues very carefully in the whole series. After all I am starting to know it at the near end of Season 2. I am very sure that you did study very hard of what the main clues are for the Zodiac Curse.
The pressure to stay within the 'bonds' of the curse are so layered in Akito that I don't believe it's solely selfishness and denial that makes her want to stay 'god' of the zodiac. Between taking on her father's legacy of godhood (he made it sound wondrous), the early-set feeling of purpose, the fun of being catered, adored and given such a lofty task made just for her, and I'd guess being able to keep her memories of him alive through that shared experience, was some of the joys of that particular station in life. Being a physically frail/sickly person--who, in the midst of all the lore, power, and prestige, is probably feeling a constant draining as she does the role of not only for, but the head of a family of vast wealth and connections--wouldn't be a great help her mentally, I'd think. So, yes, the kind of tough love Shigure gives out seems mild in my book, as a counter to all the worshipful fear and awe Akito's God status gives the clan, servants and all. I love how honest Shigure is about his shortcomings. Basically, this is me and I don't change...well, I'll made concessions as I see fit, but I'm not exactly a roll-on-my-back-and-take-whatever-abuse-my-master-wants-to-dole-out kind of dog. Just a possessed man who, honestly, isn't phased by that fact it much else, actually. In other words, it's like Shigure is saying, "I want you, Akito, but not a lifetime of abuse and heavy emotional manipulation. I won't lie like I'm the perfect man, but I'm willing to be a partner to someone who will do the same. So, stop pouting and communicate."
The first part felt so fast for me and I panicked, thinking maybe they skipped a lot of chapters in the manga. Nonetheless, I love how this episode focused on Momiji. They usually don't think about him because he seems okay most of the time. It's nice for him to be on the spotlight sometimes.
I love Shigure he is Twisted but his a good guy if he was all bad nobody would like him he just happened to fall in love with a more Twisted person me not liking her will never stop me from loving Shigure
this is just my opinion since I was waiting for certain scenes, and all of them were cut. I am a bit disappointed tbh. ;_; I feel like this episode is a bit rushed, but Momiji's storyline made this episode a bit bearable for me.
@@sayaliparandekar3714 yeah.. i was very hopeful that they wouldnt cut too much but, it seems that they cut a lot of kyoru scenes even way back in season 2 so I am not surprised that they will cut more in future episodes and I am very unhappy whenever I think about it. 😔
I'm a manga reader and I loved this episode so much!!! But I did really miss those cut scenes. Like with Hiro realising Kyo has feelings for Tohru and then later that cute little moment between Kyo and Tohru walking together. Personally I would have preferred they had included those scenes and excluded the Ayame, Hatori and Yuki scenes from the beginning of the episode, as they felt abit out of place to me.
Momiji’s dad still knows him right? It’s only his mom who got her memory altered. Isn’t it Hatori who was altering memories? Will it be possible to like reverse it? Coz unlike Hatori’s situation, Momiji is free from the curse. Sorry this episode has a lot to take in.
Even if it can be reversed, you can't turn back time. She already gave up on Momiji when she chose to erase him from her memory. Not having the curse doesn't change that pain, the years of growing up without a family. And who's to say if the mom will regret her past decision or not even if you return her the memory of her giving birth to Momiji
I think the beginning parts are meant to ease us into the fact that other people (not just Soma’s and Tohru) know about the curse!
I was SOOOO PROUD, oh wow, my heart couldn't handle it at points!
I liked the transition from shigure thinking of Akito and then being in her dream..I think it made the cure break feel very dramatic.
I liked it too, it tricked the audience into thinking they were looking at Hatsuharu’s thread, so when it turns out to be Momiji it was much more of a shock.

I was kinda hoping they'd keep Kyo's cat eyes, when he stared at Momji after the proposal bomb.
I will say that Momiji and Tohru is more like a Brother and Sister Relationship type of thing and not a love couple!
I cried too, and those are my favorite chapters too. I love Momiji so much. I think the arrangement is okay for narrative sake, but I was expecting it later. I think the relationship clips in the beginning were as you said, how the curse holds people back but even Momiji doesn't get everything that he wants.
