Father Brown has taken on a handicapped girl named Ruby as a housekeeper. She shadows him in his new adventures so we have a replacement for Bunty.
Mrs Devine is a sort of replacement for Mrs McCarthy but it's not the same at all.
I had a hard time with this season as people just seem to walk up to Father Brown and tell him important details about the crime without being asked. It's paper thin writing with even more transparent dialogue.
