As I understand it, the teams that don't play will not be evaluated but the teams that play will. Now hears where it gets tricky, the teams that don't play can still be pushed in either direction by attrition. The only way it makes sense to me is a race analogy, if your car is stalled on the track a moving car can still crash into you and move you. So your slot can be taken pushing you forward or backwards.
The Mountain West Champion (10 Boise State Broncos and 20 UNLV Running Rebels) and the Big 12 Champion (15 Arizona State Sun Devils vs. 16 Iowa State Hawkeyes) will both leapfrog Alabama. Even if the (5) Georgia Bulldogs lose the SEC title game, they're playing the (2) Texas Longhorns and there's no way they're being penalized enough for an extra game to fall below Alabama. That leaves the Southern Methodist Mustangs vs. the Clemson Tigers. If Clemson wins a nailbiter (last second FG/TD or in overtime), and it's between the Crimson Tide and the Mustangs, who gets in? Does Alabama fall to 13 and Miami to 14?
Im fine with Miami, Bama has absolutely NO right to be in thia thing but... BYU deserves to be ahead of both. I dont care if you think they would get crushed by both teams. 10 - 2. Close loss to a surging but admidettly 5 - 7 Kansas, so akin to the Vanderbilt loss for Bama. A win over the potential 3rd seed in the playoff. A win over a surging Baylor team. A win over a not spectacular, but very solid Kansas State team. Its not even close if you take off the "BRAND" goggles. This spot belongs to BYU.
The 12 spots should go to the 11 conference champs and highest ranked independent. That way, the regular season matters, winning your conference matters, and would only take a couple years to even out all the conferences as big teams would evenly spread themselves out among the conferences.
Alabama D riding continues. Last year Georgia won 28 straight games and lost by 3 to Alabama and went from 1st to 5th. If Georgia had the same schedule as Bama this year and lost to Oklahoma they would have been excluded.
Ohio State was not even penalized for losing to Warde Manuel’s Alma mater & current employer, despite their 7-5 record. Miami lost to two good team away at their homes. This committee has always been corrupted. The Bama invitational
Yeah this guy don't watch games it's all politics. Alabama have not won 1 significant road game and the current top 25 still got a bad Missouri team ranked. South Carolina got a blowout loss against Ole Miss. And now bad loss to LSU. Just say you like Alabama don't insult real fans intelligence.
Don’t forget overrated and overranked LSU at one point who was considered a “ranked” win for them. Also Bama fans claiming SC as a ranked sun but SC wasn’t ranked at the time they were playing so it isn’t considered a ranked win. Preseason ranking are the problem because you frontload the ranking with mid SEC teams to make SEC resumes look better. Bama and their inflated resume.
All the comments prove what I’ve said all along. At 2 there was arguments, at 4 there’s arguments and at 12 there’s arguments. They want this! They’ve induced the tilt they wanted. They win again.
It’s because someone somewhere is ether kissing somebody’s 🫏 or paying someone off. They sure didn’t and wouldn’t let some other team in with 3 losses. That’s the way they’ve done it all the years before. Ohh but wait a minute this time it’s Alabama so the rules will change just for them. And then next time it will be back the other way again. In case the committee hasn’t looked there are other teams out there that worked all season to get a chance to hopefully get into the playoffs, but all they’ll get is a slap in the face. Because their conference is not important enough. The committee that decides who goes and who don’t is an absolute joke if they let Alabama in over a team that is more deserving than they are this year.
Alabamas has 2 unranked losses which is one whole more loss then Miami, so as long as you beat good teams you can just get blown out by bad teams? And Miami lost a close one to the team that took the committees fifth ranked team to 8ots on the road… make it make sense. This committee is pathetic

This isn't as much Bama v Miami as it is the SEC v the ACC. The SEC continues to be seen by many as the closest level of pro competition in college football, while the ACC is viewed as being weaker. So, a 3-loss SEC team will get more respect for going through a "harder" path than a 1 or 2-loss ACC team that won just as many, if not more, games. Doesn't mean it's the right call, but it is what it is. It's been getting called for weeks that a 3-loss SEC team would make the playoff, just not sure that it should've been Bama over Ole Miss...
That's exactly it. SEC competition means way more than ACC competition. 2 losses in the ACC is garbage. 3 losses in the SEC isn't good, but it's much better
Hopefully, Clemson wins and SMU stays ahead of Alabama because they don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Warde didn't talk about the comparison between Ole Miss, SC & Alabama, he only discussed Miami & Alabama. Ole Miss has 3 losses by a combined total of 13 points and Alabama lost to Oklahoma by 21. The comittee can't honestly justify this because there isn't a head to head between the 2.
There's a chance that if UGA loses in the SECCG they'll be out of the playoffs, again, while Bama sneaks in. They say they won't punish teams for playing in their CG but we all know that's bs. They even said they are still going to grade teams in the CGs. This'll only prove the the CG isn't worth going to like Lane said.
Alright, so don’t put Miami in because they lost 2 of their last 3. Makes sense, recency bias can be blown out of proportion but it is impor- WAIT A MINUTE, South Carolina hasn’t lost in 6 games, and have wins over A&M, Mizzou, and Clemson during that time! Not to mention curb-stomping the team that Alabama proceeded to get themselves curb-stomped by in the first place. But yeah, recency bias is real important. Way to put in the team that is certainly playing the best football and will definitely not get blown out by 3 tds and get mocked by the entire country in a few weeks time!
The rankings and criteria for being ranked are incredibly inconsistent with this committee. They say the absent teams have no data points but if Clemson wins the ACC, USC just beat them on the road and the committee is saying that doesn’t help boost the resume. USC is a top 12 team right now, and I think that all gets overshadowed especially with auto bids going to conference champs
Haha notice how he barely touched on who Miami and Bama both lost to. Just says, they both dropped some games they wished they hadn’t. Miami lost by a combined 9 points to 9-3 Syracuse on the road against the QB who leads nation in yards. And on the road to a GT team that we all saw what they can do against UGA. Bama got trounced against OU 2 weeks ago (3 points!!), and lost to a shitty Vandy team that really only got hyped up for beating Bama. CFB is lost ridiculous sport.
What he's saying is 'If Clemson were to beat SMU, Clemson would take their spot and we'd move SMU down below the SEC cluster bc they have the same record as Miami, share the same best wins as Miami, and have a worst strength of schedule than Miami'.
I've said it, I've heard it said and I've seen it in type. Expanding the playoff just meant arguing over who's 11 and 12 instead of 4 and 5. And BAMA is right there to take the backdoor in, AGAIN. I LOVE IT. ROLL TIDE 🐘🐘🐘
This guy is an idiot. If Clemson wins on Saturday then South Carolina having a win over the ACC champion should move them up the rankings. That would be the most impressive out of conference win of the year. Alabama’s best out of conference win is 5-7 Wisconsin. Still better then Ole Miss who’s best out of conference win is 4-8 Wake Forrest. This committee is laughable bad at looking at the “whole body of work”.
@@Matttaylor016 That’s true. I think Georgia should be ranked higher too. If the committee doesn’t reward scheduling tough out of conference games then there will be no reason for teams to schedule them and that is bad for the game.
The real question is why is Alabama ranked above ASU which if they beat ISU will have beaten 4 ranked teams have 1 less loss and still somehow be ranked 12 at highest. The only chance that changes is if UNLV beats Boise

You can make a case for Bama, ole miss, USC, and Miami to be in or out. That’s what losing will do for you. Everyone knew when we went tot he 12 team people will not be happy with 11-12. But hey look at it this way, had we stayed at 4 teams bama, Georgia, OSU would have been out

A team with 0 ranked wins doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs. End of story. Go wipe your eyes.
@ and a team who got blown out by 21 to a 6 loss team does? Keep talking bro 😂
@@simon.a.deportes I'm very happy with the CFP rankings, how about you?
they lost 24-3 to oklahoma bro 🫤
Miami didn’t play a single ranked team ALL SEASON 😂😂 I don’t understand where the confusion is coming from
Incentivizing teams to miss conference championships and punishing those who play better. Unbelievable.
Bama could have 9 losses and they'd still find a way to sneak them in.
You can tell this guy is told what to do. He don’t make the decisions. $$$ drives everything.
Yep. They used this guy to explain what couldn't be explained, so that everyone had someone to point the finger of blame at.
South Carolina is better than Bama right now
But they lost to Bama
Then why was Alabama in a couple weeks ago and Tennessee was out even though they beat Alabama and both had the same record?
You're probably right, but Bama has a better overall resume and head to head victory.
Says who? Their head to head says different
If you didn't understand the end, basically Alabama will be 11 no matter what happens Saturday since the teams that don't play won't be moved
But if Clemson steals a bid they won’t be. He said in comparison to other teams who don’t play. Not in comparison to teams who do play
That's what I read...😕
They should have Bama vs Miami this weekend for the final spot since neither are playing
So he just confirmed that unless Clemson wins, bama will be in!
If Clemson wins, then Bama should still be in because Indiana shouldn't be there either.
The 12 spots should go to the 11 conference champs and highest ranked independent. That way, the regular season matters, winning your conference matters, and would only take a couple years to even out all the conferences as big teams would evenly spread themselves out among the conferences.
interesting thought (even if it’ll never happen)
Alabama could have 8 losses and they would get in…
Crybabies everywhere 😂😂
3 loss Georgia will stay ahead Miami if they lose in the SEC championship next week. Rightfully so. Competition matters alot.
@@TraumaStageroll tide
@@lastshallbefirst5516 It’s Bama derangement syndrome lol the salt is palpable.
Let's just remember one thing bama need my team Smu beat Clemson and for it not be close lose are bama out of it .
Alabama D riding continues. Last year Georgia won 28 straight games and lost by 3 to Alabama and went from 1st to 5th. If Georgia had the same schedule as Bama this year and lost to Oklahoma they would have been excluded.
do yall remember when point differential in games mattered i do 😢
Ohio State was not even penalized for losing to Warde Manuel’s Alma mater & current employer, despite their 7-5 record. Miami lost to two good team away at their homes. This committee has always been corrupted. The Bama invitational
What he meant to say was Bama draws more money!
Intelligent people would say Alabama has not won 1….not have not won 1!!!
@@deeguwxpit’s based on the end of the year poll not when played.
Lol Alabama literally beat South Carolina
Sounds like some of ya'll are mad...........
It is all about money … Alabama is known to pay their way to championships
Alabama are the Chiefs of cfb
No where near close
The Alabama invitational 😂😂😂
Because their is a bias in the committee and obvious bama fans making these decisions. Are you kidding a 3 lose team that lost convincingly to Vandy.
Not only do they have more losses than Miami but they lost to a unranked team by 21 points... THE COMMITTEE IS BOUGHT AND PAID FOR
@ last year 13-0 fsu didn’t get in because of their personnel not their record but today Alabama is getting in because one good win in September over comes a 9-3 record with 3 terrible losses
We felt that... uh... Bama will make us more money, so we... uh... make up reasons to.. uh... pit them in.
*Miami vs Colorado Bowl Game.*
That would be a great game!
@@thatguybill34 should be for the national championship this year. But the committee doesn't know how to pick the best teams in the country.
Cam Ward not going to play he a Top 5 draft pick
Bowl games are dead! Basically a preseason game for next year.
Yes, nobody cares about meaningless bowl games and those headed to the NFL arent going to play and risk injury.
B-I-A-S-E-D! Miami only has 2 losses!
But the easier schedule. Sometimes it’s not about records
Stop with the SEC is the hardest conference 7 of their teams lost to non SEC teams...including Louisville blowing out a team that beat ole miss
Notice how Ohio State isn’t penalized for losing to Warde Manuel’s Alma mater & current employer, despite their 7-5 record and firing of their OC. . . Big Brand biases all over the place with this
You could also say they beat the number 3 team and lost by 1 to the number 1 team
@ well, if we are using his metrics, Ohio State, Tennessee and UGA should be above Notre Dame. But Notre Dame is too big of a brand for that.
Oh, no boy. Throwing shade at the reigning National Champions. Sorry your team isn't winning the Natty. GO BLUE HATERS!!!
@@James-mm6jh nah, I have no beef with Michigan. But Michigan isn’t led by Harbaugh & mccarthy anymore.
They are a 7 win team & a two loss Ohio state shouldn’t be overrewarded based on Michigan’s previous success.
And Ole Miss smoked UGA and SC.
Whatever it takes to get Alabama in Rece
Alabama lost to Vanderbilt 😂😂😂 when the last time Vandy beat them and they got smoke by Oklahoma 😂😂😂
Use me as a Miami should be in button 💚 🧡
At the end of the day, remember this is all entertainment .
That actually helped lol
Your a bama nutthugger thats why u say that 😐
I'm not usually one to jump into presales, but with Alemio Network, I couldn't resist. This is a solid project with massive potential!
Alabama lost 25% of its games to teams with a combined 14 losses this year. That deserves exclusion from any playoff
They gotta go back to the computers and get rid of this 🤡 committee
Dont worry, the cousin bangers are on their death bed. This year was the beginning of their last breaths. Roll turds roll.
Easy when the committee members work for ESPN and are always going to put the teams that make money not who actually deserves it
Bama not in yet Clemson could doom bama with close win over SMU .
Just to get first rounded lmao 🤣 bama is awful.
@@deathcorenerd8266😂 dude if Clemons beats SMU I GUARANTEE BAMA WILL STAY AT 11 AND SMU WILL DROP OUT OF THE TOP 12

They are automatically in. Those are the rules
bama's loss to the oklahoma sooners was honorable. okie has long history of winners
Alabama in over South Carolina and Miami hurricanes it is final nothing can change the committee mind😢
watching warde manuel squirm and act super uncomfortable when trying to convince us how bama got in makes me question college football
SC won’t move up sadly. Alabama biases won’t allow that .
UGAs win over Clemson would be the most impressive. 31-3
@@Matttaylor016 That’s true. I think Georgia should be ranked higher too. If the committee doesn’t reward scheduling tough out of conference games then there will be no reason for teams to schedule them and that is bad for the game.
They won't put SC over Bama bro... The committee is CORRUPT 🤷
And if SMU wins BYU should move in front of any three loss team.
Alemio Network's presale got me hooked - the coolest way to be part of a groundbreaking project. Let's go!
Popularity contest /thread
Reece was cookin em lol
The real question is why is Alabama ranked above ASU which if they beat ISU will have beaten 4 ranked teams have 1 less loss and still somehow be ranked 12 at highest. The only chance that changes is if UNLV beats Boise
Notre Dame can have multiple Titles with no conference championship, but Alabama has to go undefeated every year.
No not undefeated...just don't lose 2 games to 6 lose teams
Wow….. just wow.
Ward Manual was a New Orleans High School DT legend at Brother Martin High, then went on to Michigan
This is BS MIAMI should be in this is trash
Could you imagine the reactions if the rules were reversed and Alabama didn’t get in over a team dominated by two 6-6 teams, one of which is VANDY!!! The Alabama fans would lose their minds!!!
If Bama was 3-9, they would still be picked to be in the playoff smh.
SMU did not lose 3 times to teams with an average of more than 4 losses like Alabama did this year.
All these Alabama haters on this site crying their butts off 😂😂😂
Already participated in the Alemio presale, and I’m feeling pretty good about the future of ALM. Time to get in while the price is still low!
Because Miami had a soft schedule. Indiana had a soft schedule. Strength of schedule should matter.
No win losses should matter like every other sport. Strength of schedule shouldn't come into play until it's a tiebreaker just like the nfl
Indiana doesn’t have 2 lost like Miami
@@jskully9784they do matter but there are other things they look at such as strength of schedule as well as others. Miami had 2 losses yes but they should have lost 2 others if it weren’t for bad calls at the end of the game they benefited from. Then you look at their schedule which was weak.
You can make a case for Bama, ole miss, USC, and Miami to be in or out. That’s what losing will do for you.
Everyone knew when we went tot he 12 team people will not be happy with 11-12.
But hey look at it this way, had we stayed at 4 teams bama, Georgia, OSU would have been out
Alabama should not be ranked over Miami Miami has two losses but Alabama was blown out by Oklahoma and is a three lost team The only reason Alabama would get in is because of money they want to see Alabama in there because it's unusual for them not to be Miami deserves every bit of time to get into the playoffs they were never blown out this season like Alabama was embarrassed by Oklahoma
Diving into Alemio Network's whitepaper - the innovation and technology behind this project are mind-blowing!
Im so glad the comittee did the right thing!
they didn't
It's only naive to think that this Committee doesn't take into consideration who and where the broadcast partners want certain teams. They obviously aren't going to admit that this is included in their overall criteria and thought processes but, in the end, this is about generating eyeballs for ad-revenue, merchandise purchases, in-game food orders, etc.
Roll Tide
Miami has 2 losses. Neither loss is to a team with a .500 or lower record. Georgia Tech is 2 games over .500, Syracuse is 9-2. Alabama has three losses, two of them to .500 teams. Alabama never led in the game against one .500 team, and managed a single field goal the entire game against the other .500 team.
