Apparently it's supposed to effect all drama professors, and it seems to in my game. I found a Sims wiki page which lists it as a glitch but I could believe it was some kind of gameplay feature but you never know with The Sims 2 lol. I don't think they would include this in a later game but The Sims 2 does have a bunch of creepy stuff built in.

One of my sims graduated from collage and she studied in drama major. I invited one of the professors to the wedding when she was getting married. Right after she got married the profesor ran to her and slapped her in the face for "cheating" on him. I Was so damn confused of why that happened. Now i know why XD

And got an answer from Hunter Howe: I have heard that drama professors are notoriously amorous. I think it's just in their nature.
This happened to one of my sims, the professor got enraged at my male sim while he was out on a date with his girlfriend. The girlfriend got mad that he was "cheating" because the professor flirted with him and I was just left super confused. I didn't know it was something more people had, I thought it was just a weird thing that happened
Oh yeah it's really annoyed that it's considered cheating when another Sim autonomously flirts. But yeah apparently this is a problem in everyone's game there might be a mod fix out there but I haven't looked into it.

from the way they keep endlessly losing relationship flags, the repeated memories, and the fact they get mad every time they catch stella cheating (they should fall out of love right after the first time right?), it’s like the drama professors either never actually lose their flags or instantly regain them somehow. like something’s bugged with their codes. hmm. makes me wonder if their... affection is limited to sims in a uni hood, or if they’ll also have these flags with sims they really shouldn’t (e.g. universal npcs, younger sims), or even sims as soon as they’re generated. really great to see a new video btw! never seen this bug -(or feature)- in-game before so this was an entertaining watch lol. hope you’re doing okay!
Yeah it seems like they're getting reset everytime and I also wondered about the universal NPCs and if it would happen with say the Grim Reaper and what that would do (I guess nothing since he's usually pretty busy and other Sims don't interrupt him.) Would be funny if one hit on Mrs Crumplebottom but I don't know if that's possible (I don't remember what social interactions she has and if she has the flirt one at all, I think the Unsavoury Charleton will sometimes interact with her romantically on community lots.) Also would be funny if Mrs Crumplebottom started attacking a drama professor with her purse lol. Also thanks I'm doing OK atm :)
From my experience, the Drama Professors can't get crush or love flags with anyone younger than a young adult. And they won't try and flirt with them either. Evil Mascots on the other hand can autonomously flirt with teenagers. But they won't get crush or love flags from it. Pretty sure this is an oversight by the developers. As that is essentially ephebophilia / hebephilia.
If you have any plans on revisiting the drama professors, an easy way to get quite a few of them on the same lot would be to add all the three different university subhoods. Then as soon you as you identify them, invite them all over using the college registry on the phone. Would be funny to see the chaos six drama professors on the same lot would cause.
Ah I didn't think of that when recording this lol but the neighbourhood I was doing this in is actually an uberhood and also had all of the uni subhoods added so I could have gotten more that way. I do have some plans for them now actually that I might try out. 🤔
I had the guy prof marry one of my sims into the elderly care home. I think you can imagine how that went... I found out about the glitch after the marriage. It made the care home much more interesting.
I know I am late to the comment party, but I remember the first time I got one of my sims into a uni and the first person he met was the female drama professor. Their first interaction was her trying to leap in his arms, which left both my sim and me equally confused. Then I made my sim do his own thing for a while, ignoring the professor, and by the evening all the dormies just were in a circle, bullying her non-stop. Now, I don't remember how or why, but a long while after in the main hood, when that sim was already married and rich, she just decided to walk into his house and use the PC and piano. And kept returning after getting kicked out. In middle of the night. This was when I discovered the "buy off" interaction. Never have seen her again after that, thankfully.
Oh yeah when Sims are furious they keep coming round. I don't think I had an angry Sim come into the house though they often just steal newspapers or knock over the trashcan in my game lol.
So glad you are talking and warning people about this glitch!One of my sims in my old hood ended up marrying the female drama professor featured in this video, and my sims lived with his daughter and his daughters husband. It was a very chaotic situation, and the only person the professor had a normal relationship was her daughter. I am in one way glad that the hood imploded shortly after she god married to my sim. The corruption in that hood was completely my fault(i cricked the wrong bottom while using boolprop) , but i now have a rule to never match up a drama professor with one of my sims. They are just too much of a pain in the butt.

I had no idea this was a thing and I've been playing TS2 on and off for like 15 years (oh god has it really been that long?) and I somehow never saw this--maybe because I rarely ever had my sims befriend their professors. I think I'll play around with this next time I play and see what happens. Awesome video!
Yeah I only recently discovered it myself. I've had a lot of Sims go to uni and even a bunch with drama majors, also at least one Sim who developed a relationship with a professor but they weren't a drama major, so I somehow managed to avoid encountering them.
I wonder if the drama professors would continue to have the love/crush flag glitch even after you add them to a neighborhood as a playable sim. It would be pretty funny to run into them at a community lot! Lots of slapping!
The glitch seemed to continue when I made them selectable and another commenter mentioned marrying one of them and it causing issues so I think it stays after making them playable and moving them in lol. Actually I have some plans related to that that I'm thinking about doing in a future video now lol.
Thank you for solving a mystery for me. I had a sim at uni enter a romance and the. go on a date with a drama professor… the professor cheated on him during the date by flirting with Sandy Bruty and I was so confused - had never seen anything like that before and just thought it was a rare bug. 😆😭

I'm not sure if you watched my video on the tutorial neighbourhood but I mention the family tree there and afaik they don't have character data so can't be resurrected (I did try actually because I thought that would be cool too, and they weren't shown as options for resurrection.) Somebody might have recreated them though based on the thumbnails, but they were never actually in the game and so don't have data.
Yeah it's pretty odd. I remember when I was messing about making some mod for another video (the alien abduction in cas one,) there was a weird glitch involving relationship flags even though I didn't mess around with anything related to that. I can't remember exactly what happened now but I think everytime a bartender was summoned to the lot and interacted with someone else they would end up married to other Sims or something like that. So it could be a similar thing although I have no idea how it happened with that mod I was messing around with either. But based on that I'm guessing it can be a side effect of something going wrong.
Yeah I didn't realise it was room specific but I noticed after moving Brian, for some reason I thought it was within a certain number of grid space that they notice or something.

This only happened to me once when no one in the dorm liked my sim so I let her constantly talk to the female professor on the phone and they became best friends then I invited her to my sims graduation party so as soon as the professor flirted with her, my sim fell in love with her because they were best friends already but then the mascot flirted with the teacher and my sim was heartbroken hahaha I just ended the party and went back to pleasant view
I mean it's possible but I think you can do that with other professors anyway if you build the relationship (not 100% sure though but I think that's how it works.) The part where the flags are reset constantly leading to multiple memories definitely seems a bit broken though.

I guess what I meant is that unlike other sims, drama professors will never reject students' advances, those little sleazeball teachers... So maybe the memories are just a bad side effect of the game saying "nope, you'll stay friendly and romantic and will never say no, no matter what"? But it's definitely broken somewhere along the way, even if my theory was right.
I wish I knew that glitch because I am pretty sure that one of my sims got into relationship with him (I made her wish for love on the fountain and got him, an old professor), the dude had a lot of romantic relationships, like *a lot*. He probably had been in my world for a while... It did make for a lot of drama thought and a tiny bit of a dramatic death 😂

They kind of already are friendzoned since their feelings are always one sided lol. If you mean stop them from falling in love with your Sim I'm not sure if there's a way to do that. There is a mod that allows you to ask to be friends with Sims (I forget who it's by now,) but I can't remember if the option pops up with the professors since playable Sims don't reciprocate. Also, their relationship flags kind of reset everytime they interact with a Sim so even if you changed that I think they'd fall in love again later. There might be a mod that fixes the professors too, but I haven't tried any.
I hate when professor drama appear in hobby lot that my family sims do something in there, make chaos like interact romantic🙅🏼♀️🙅🏼♂️🌈🌈🌈🌈. If my family sims is not exist Mama & Papa, is it single parent or 2 families join together, both 2 families is single parent or 2 families just friend, i command they ALL (all children already adult) wolf whistle to townie sim so professor drama angry & slap to my families sims but whatever i allow it or i cancel the slap interaction, to give lesson to professor drama to not make mess with me! I hate exit to neighborhood without save because professor drama make the Mama & Papa that i play is angry & slap because jealous but not know if all my families sims learned angry management & best friend forever status that make reduce damage relationship when jealous.

It's not correct that in an unmodded game unselectable sims cannot perform romantic interactions autonomously. It happens regularly in my game and I don't have any romance mods like that.
I'm not sure how it happens (seems to be related to relationship flags being reset while interacting though and always set to love + crush,) but as Sol said Sims can autonomously interact romantically. They won't woohoo or try for a baby, or get engaged autonomously without mods, but the other stuff works.

Its not that Brian doesn't care. He wasn't in the same room, he didn't saw you cheating, which is why i love the sims 2 on that, its more realistic.

If my family sims is not exist Mama & Papa, is it single parent or 2 families join together, both 2 families is single parent or 2 families just friend, i command they ALL (all children already adult) wolf whistle to townie sim so professor drama angry & slap to my families sims but whatever i allow it or i cancel the slap interaction, to give lesson to professor drama to not make mess with me! I hate exit to neighborhood without save because professor drama make the Mama & Papa that i play is angry & slap because jealous but not know if all my families sims learned angry management & best friend forever status that make reduce damage relationship when jealous.
But how do this happen?? if in the vanilla game (no modded) the sims that are not currently being played with aren't allowed to perform any romantic interaction autonomously.
It's not correct that in an unmodded game unselectable sims cannot perform romantic interactions autonomously. It happens regularly in my game and I don't have any romance mods like that.
I'm not sure how it happens (seems to be related to relationship flags being reset while interacting though and always set to love + crush,) but as Sol said Sims can autonomously interact romantically. They won't woohoo or try for a baby, or get engaged autonomously without mods, but the other stuff works.
No they just can’t initiate romantic interactions if there’s no romantic relationship
