- What would you do if one day you woke up, and you found out your brain was removed from your body and is now in a jar? How would you survive like this? How would you not go insane? And how would your brain change being left like this?

This would be terrifying, and I think everyone can agree with me. You wouldn't be able to do anything, not even "end" the pain
I’d be fine with it
Lets donit then eh?@@gloves6807
You would begin hallucinating very shortly after and you wouldnt even know they were hallucinations
I had never experienced the level of anxiety that I did through this video
Sorry about that. This was actually a Halloween special.
@@Squirreled_Studio haha don't worry, it was a great video, I just went waaay too deep into it
Hearing this can be really scary tho....
My brain in jar + connection to the internet 😂
The ideal option.
Why aren't you getting subscribers....this was really well explained and thought provoking.
Seriously how do you come up with such stuff?
Wow.
I imagine my brain would have similar effects to psychedelics.
Sensory deprivation isolation chambers would be the closest thing to this we have nowadays.
Even then it’s worse since you can at least feel gravity in a gravity deprivation chamber.
I'm making a sci-fi story with a character whose brain was taken out and kept alive for years. It'd be used to operate organic "vessels" without having the host die whenever one gets destroyed. But I was wondering what would actually happen to a human brain if it wasn't connected to anything. How would it feel to the person coming back to a body that isn't his. How long would it take to get used to it and how would his personality be affected. Glad you made this video, it goes around what I thought the main issues would be.
But I have to wonder, would the brain sleep? Would the person deprived of any sensation go to sleep or be in a somewhat permanent state of dreaming. How would they know when they're consciously awake? What would dreams be like if the brain has no real new memory?
Happy I could help. And maybe that could be something explored in your story. If the whole world takes place in your mind, how can you be sure what's real or not?
This guy randomly followed me on teitter AND I LOVED THIS CHANNEEEEEEEL
I'm really glad you like my channel!
That existence would be like hell
if I were in this state I would imagine myself in a normal world where I just happen to be the Scarlet Spider in New York crime fighting with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man.
after some thought, I would play chess with myself if i were my brain in a jar
Love the music for this video.
Only 8.3k views after over 4 years??? That's insane! Hopefully the algorithm will pick this up soon because I was expecting several million views.
Love this channel, you deserve more subs
you just earned a new subscriber ✨
Truly your video is beyond awesome 😭💜
Keep up the good work ✨
( sorry if my English seem off it's not my first language 😂)
amazing video dude. Found it on the r/philosophy subreddit and now I'm subscribed.. maybe your first non American subscriber (that's also not from Europe or Asia)?
Hey, that’s awesome dude! I’m glad my video was able to reach you!
god damn dude. Awesome vid, and now i kinda want to live in a jar.
@@epic317 yes
If you're here, tell me if you're a brain in a jar right now and have been hooked up to a computer to send comments
@@epic317 because every other organ is creatable, this means immortality
So, your brain would receive no new stimulus, but the recombinant synthesis of all its prior stimulus is still a lot of possibility space. For every stimulus you had before being put in a jar, the options scale factorially. I wonder what the minimum amount of experience to draw upon would be to stave off insanity.
Great stuff dude! ❤️😘
Ayy right when I find your channel you upload a new video :D
Great timing!
You wouldn't even have emotions. Think about it, emotions are a physical response to the thoughts in your mind. You would have the thought but you wouldn't even be able to feel a response to it. The good news is there will be no sense of pain either physically or emotionally. Unfortunately this means you have nothing, not even sadness or happiness, it is a complete void. Just thoughts, you couldn't even go crazy, there's absolutely nothing. You don't get tired there's no rest, but your not awake. You would eventually enter a dream state. Your thoughts would become your reality, you'd be in a dream until they decide to turn you off. And when that happens you would have no idea it ever did. Your not asleep or awake, your not alive or dead, the shade of black doesn't even exist. Darkness is a concept of the living world, this is something different, there is no death, no life, there's nothing at all.
Nice video Cam! ;)
Thanks!
this shows that how much knowledge u have about the working procedure of the universe............
Wow. Good content.. Dont give up on making content, it will grow
Thank you!
Your channel is so underated
This is really good! I really like the hypothetical scenario. I remember seeing your profile on khanacademy. What’s your profile again? But great!
Thank you! And my KA profile was BransfordC.
Noticed you followed me on Twitter, nice video!
Thanks!
Love your vids!
You should do one on the effect of the 20M trees planted.
It’s not going to be the next video, but I would LOVE to do something with that!
Wouldn't one feel constant pain because the brain is not receiving signals from the lungs and it's breathing, nor the heart and it's beating, neither the stomach and eating? Basically the pain of being suffocated and have a heart attack and being starving at the same time?
No the suffocating feeling is from co2 in blood and starving and heart attack is caused from organs being there so no input and no pain
@@stanleybowman-hood6194 Yes, there is no input from the organs. However, the brain may then experience something similar to phantom limb pain, or in this case phantom organ pain. Such that, the absence of the heart may induce the feeling of cardiac arrest, or angina, or maybe even shock/coma over extended time.
If this ever happens to me I hope they pump the jar full of drugs or at least stimulate my pleasure center often.
It's the late stage for bouddhist
subscribed lol
Thanks!
Is that mean i'am a brain?

Thanks for following me, your channel is great
This was really helpful ....I don't know if I am already insane though...
Saw a short movie with that concept except he also had 1 eye and the ears
Hey man, how can I know if im not a brain in a jar? Im really anxious about this and I dont know if people around me is real etc.
No, not the jar.
Please God not the jar.
I just rediscovered this channel
Damn this is nicw
plot twist there is no jar or brain. Both are one and the same just conscious energy.
“The father and I are one”
They just have to give me eyes and ears and a throat, bish gon give me speech and ears and eyes, add some robotic arms too 🤩
at the end of the day... i think i am o brain in a jar
This video is awesome!
underrated
you would't even be able to see the pitch black void
This is more like a guide if you REALLY get into this situation 💀💀💀
this video is really abt isolation
What if we are all brains floating in jars... in a deep imagination to pass time lol
Darkness!
Imprisoning me!
All that I see!
I would assume sensory deprivation due to some condition or injury. I would not assume my brain was living in a jar. That may be possible someday but is unlikely. I suppose your brain would start to imagine things and produce its own sensory input to stay alive. You might live an imaginary life until the end.
Lol this is the best
I feel like I'll just lucid dream in my head
Cognito ergo sum, I think therefore I AM
Well thats better than talking to people and havinf a job that underpays and barely living
If this was the case you would dream. Also this is something we can now do in 2021.
i have existencial ocd.. Why am i watching this ? :D
This is not that different from having dreams
Not much different from how I feel everyday.
Would the brain able to sleep?
What if God is like the brain?
Imagine being in this state of consciousness for eternity ….
Then with enough concentration and imagination God creates a dream of reality in his head and pretends to be a human
The only thing the brain can do is relive memories.
The problem is it isnt
I'd be in constant prayer for all of love and everyone..you'd end up in a mighty body after a while
😘
