Shaboozey - Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going / 2024 / country
Whole album is straight up ⛽,bro ain't playing 😮
You guys should also listen to his previous album
Country music is not part of my regular listening. There’s definitely some really good music from the genre out there. I’d say Shaboozey’s record falls in there. It’s really good! There’s a great vibe here. It feels like what the classic, old west type of cowboys would be playing after a long day.
I know I keep whining about it, but the auto tuning/melodyning/pitch “damaging” software has to go. Those sections where’s it’s not as heavy and/or not applied shows he has a good enough voice. I’d love to be sitting at a campfire or in a bar listening to him play. And even if he was a little “pitchy”, no one would care as long as he sings it “for real”. True feeling & emotion will always be superior to computerization. All I hear when people use this crap is that old dial up tone*. It hurts my ears.
I don’t know if his voice or lyrics (I didn’t read through them yet) are as strong as Hozier’s, but “vibes” or “mojo” wise, Shaboozey feels like he could be in a similar ethos.
* Yes, I’m old af👹
