  • Introducing the first-ever indigenously developed commercial-scale perovskite solar cell modules in India marks a groundbreaking stride, enhancing the country's indigenous solar cell manufacturing capacity. Currently, India lacks end-to-end manufacturing capacity for international standard silicon solar cell modules, including technology and equipment, which significantly hinders the nation's efforts to achieve self-reliance in renewable energy technology production. The emerging Perovskite solar cell (PSC) technology is competing with and surpassing traditional thin-film solar cell technology in terms of low cost, processing, and robust scale-up technology. The single-junction PSC has achieved an efficiency of more than 25%, nearly equal to silicon solar cells globally. This PSC exhibits remarkable advantages for a variety of applications, such as flexible solar cells, tandem solar cells, transparent windows, and indoor photovoltaics. Its ultra-lightweight and color-tuneable nature hold great potential for revolutionizing agrivoltaics and electric vehicle (eV) industries. We have successfully demonstrated large-area scalable PSC modules on glass, steel, and flexible substrates using indigenous equipment and chemical resources. We are pioneers in developing and providing end-to-end solutions for PSC module manufacturing technology for all sorts of applications. All the co-founders have more than 10 years of experience in this solar cell technology, and we are incubated at IISc Bangalore.
