There is absolutely no over reaction when it comes to children's welfare! PERIOD!! I truly do not know what is going on in the schools these days, it appears to be nationwide and not exclusive to cities or rural. But this has got to stop! I'm a 67 grandma and I worry about our children these days.
I commend you on how you handled this, I may not have been so eloquent!
God bless you all and stay strong✊❤

If it's possible, I'd be like, Time to home school! I would pull them both out immediately!
I wouldn't lie to my kids. I would definitely temper it down, but don't lie. Use this as a learning moment and make a game plan for the future, just incase. You just never know.

The same thing happened to my 5yr old daughter in the Kate 70's when she went to her first day of kindergarten! Her father went to meet her across from the bus stop in the other side of the street. She never got off the bus and it went right by. He came back to the house, called the school, she was not there, the bus was not back in the bus yard yet.( no communication on the busses back then!) He called the police,, they came, and then the bus pulled up our street and she was on it and crying! The bus driver said that she did not STAND UP when he got to her stop!!!! Her father said, "She is 5 yrs old and should not be standing up on the bus, and it is her first day of kindergarten!!!!!" He was hot! He called the school and registered a complaint! (School was down the block and around the corner, but all kindergarten kids got a bus no matter where they lived. Later school years they walked because they lived less than a mile!)It never happened again! I understand exactly how you feel! Glad all went well!😊❤

A letter to the principal, the school board the girls last period teacher and superintendent of schools detailing the experience your family had. Everyone involved must detail the solutions they will impose to protect all of the children. I taught preschool for many years, and I loved each of the children, but my passion was supporting the parents and them having someone they could trust to love and protect their precious children. Your question to Egypt was timely, I am going to a baby shower for a little boy, now a 30-year-old man celebrating with his wife the imminent arrival of their first son. I love each of you and will pray for each of the kids to have a great experience in school. Nico, you and Natalie are simply the best!!

I will never forget when my autistic son was lost also. It was time to pick him up from his first day of kindergarten, and they couldn't find him. The principal crept back into his office and would not come back out after my husband walked in the building and asked him where our son was. My eldest son drove around and found him and a little girl who followed him back to our house. Thank GOD he is very observant and knew which way to walk. I just didn't understand how this school with all the secured doors and teachers supposedly keeping each class in lines l, how he could just walk out the door with another child following him and walk across 2 major streets without anyone seeing him. We were frantic. That is one of many reasons why he is now homeschooled and thriving.

First I would be scared with a fear that goes straight to my heart and soul, and second when the teacher and or principal not only did not share my concern but was rude, I would have lost it, and hopefully had enough presence of mind to be recording all this, and let them know in no uncertain terms that this was not the end of this ! Then to come home to find the girls safe, i would be so relieved and thanking God, but then to find that the bus driver did not follow protocol, OMG! I would probably consult an attorney to draft a letter to send to the principal, the superintendent, and the school board! Y’all handled it so much better than I would have!
May I suggest that you get both the girls a gabb watch that will enable you to keep in touch with them. ❤️🙏

I don't know Sir! You remained so very calm! I commend you for that! I on the other hand, would have called the police. Had a police report drawn up and then went to the school board. Thank God all was well with your children!

This makes my heart hurt. You are great parents. Something needs to be done with our school systems.😢

Hello Niko and Natalie. As a parent myself, I would have been absolutely terrified and in panic attack mode. The school transportation area seems to be in need of additional training. Sounds to me that since Sahara was already on the bus when Egypt got on that apparently her status had changed however, if it did change then the school should have contacted you to advise. The school staff and the Principal should have known Sahara’ status for riding the bus either way. I thank our Lord and Savior and our Heavenly Father that she did arrive home safely with Egypt’ assistance. God Bless and stay safe. ✝️🙏🏻🇺🇸🥰😘

Neco I don't blame you for being upset especially when it comes to your child. So happy the girls were at home when y'all got there. Sure hope that things turn out better so their school year is a good experience. Y'all take care.

You guys definitely did not over react! Someone has to be accountable for this debacle! Just love listening to you interviewing the girls! They're beautiful! Hope you get some recourse and find that the Principal has been disciplined or fired!!!!

That was awful and scary for you all. Natalie when you shed tears so did I. Feel bad for those sweet little girls. Please report this to your school board. The teachers, administrators and bus driver need to be reminded of their duties! This whole situation is very unacceptable! God bless you all.

SJ did great camera work! And, Egypt was Johnny on the spot when Pharaoh was putting his hands where they don't belong! That's a good big sister! ❤❤❤❤
You weren't over reacting! I would have been livid!! I'm sure you will, but I would file a complaint for everyone's negligence!! I'm glad it all worked out!!

Good grief!! I would have been livid. Thanks be to God they were safe. Egypt is a wonderful big sister and I'm thinking she might be more responsible than the bus driver and the principal put together!!
