Oh, Sam, I L O V E your tenacity (!!), of which I have bloody little! However, Iike you, I SO need compartmented storage, so I took a “chip board” (pretty much your “gray board”) desk organizer I found at a U.S. discounter (Tuesday Morning), and added M A N Y small boxes to subdivide the compartments that were already there. I’ve used rectanglar ones; the square ones from the Vick’s VapoRub product and makeup boxes; I’ve even wrapped bathroom tissue paper tubes in printer paper and fit them to the task, which, in truth, gives a few more tiny spots to put oft-used slim items that might otherwise get lost among “the many” slim items. Thank you, Sam, for this vid as well as your many others. They are a treat! P.S: I SOOO much prefer this style compared to the lazy-susan kind.

This is fantastic. A question though... wouldn't it be easier to cover the chipboard before you cut all the pieces and just leave the edges bare for gluing? Or would that make it harder to glue everything together? Thank you for sharing... it seems beautifully engineered for its purpose.
She added reinforcement paper and then painted it as a base of white behind the patterned paper. So, no, that wouldn’t really work.

Hey Girl … did you give it a go? I’m always so short on crafting time, I’ve made do with a box to which I’ve added many smaller boxes to maintain the kind of organization Sam’s made in her dandy project. I’ve even used bathroom tissue rolls, as even the tiny spaces between those have allowed separate “compartments” for my oft-needed slim items (a fav pencil, my die pick, etc.). Enjoy your new year, Karen, whichever direction you take!
wow you've inspired me so much in the past few days I've been super busy making these. Ive made one the same as yours and then a slightly smaller one. oh wow your right I don't know why I didn't do this earlier. Thank you for this video Sam. I've made toolboxes and rubbish bins out of corrugated cardboard (shoe boxes) but I'll have to try the grey board. Really like your desk caddy.
If you’re into recycling, you might also consider cereal boxes. They can be layered up to be more substantial. Also, the “economy size” ones from costco are beefier and a bit larger than grocery store ones.

This is something I'm going to make. I have 2 "twirl around" things, several small drawers, and a few bins that hold those things that I either use the most or keep forgetting to use. Having a "one-stop" storage bin would make my cards so much easier to put together. I'll have to adjust the sizes of some of the slots because I really want to fit in most of my various tapes, but that just makes it my own. Thank you so much for showing how to make this in such good detail.

This is such a great storage idea Sam. I am going to try this for my crafting area. It is so customizable. I only hope mine looks as neat as yours🤪. Thanks for such a detailed tutorial.
I, too, was thinking of ways to adapt this design. My “tool tote” has to be able to be stashed away (I craft in my kitchen), but it does need to hold pretty much everything Sam was showing us. My thought was to make TWO SHORTER ones, connected with a HINGE on one end, so it could open as far as Sam’s. To accommodate moving it into storage and back, I’d make the back-most pieces taller with a handle hole to make toting it easier. Just have to get my ambition back after recent “punies”.

This is huge Sam. A great project. I would love to make one of these. I kinda lack in the patience area. It would take me some time to accomplish this one, but I want to make one so bad!! Be well & TYFS
I have the same issues! You C O U L D use an already made box from one of our “discounter” stores (found my at Tuesday Morning), or maybe an IKEA box? Then, using boxes from dry food boxes (rice, graham crax, cereal, …) or even frozen food from costco or sam’s club, which are s u b s t a n t i a l (!), or boxes from makeup or meds, e v e n bathroom tissue rolls! Cover ‘em with pretty paper and line them up in the bigger box. Is it as elegant as Sam’s? M A Y B E not, but it M A Y be just the thing to alleviate the “gotta find it” frustration!!
