    The Megaman of shmups. That’s a good way to put it. I’d forgotten how repetitive the music is. I don’t think it’s much better on the SNES, though I think it was still pretty average. Basic guitar samples and such.

      It is pretty ridiculous that they needed to reuse music in several spots in a game that only lasts 15 minutes.

      Yeah the quality is just awful, I don't know if it actually sounds like that on the real arcade PCB or not though.

      @@PEG it only sounds slightly better on PCB, X1-010 is ultra scuffed for a soundchip and I don't think Athena themselves got the hang of it until Daioh and J.J. Squawkers

      @@PEG a lot of games using the Seta 1st gen hardware used recorded music that looped. sometimes parts of them were put in separately to connect to one another seamlessly. It sounds kinda weird on emulators though
