Hi Teresa sorry to hear about your last couple of weeks but as always you're having a laugh about it. You're stitching is beautiful and having watched you bead have picked up another couple of tips see you help without realising. Take care honey and look after yourself xx
Thank you Teresa! Your video is just what I needed. I have suffered with my husband and a broken leg. Now we have just moved from my hometown of Portland, Oregon USA-born raised and lived for 62 years to Nürnberg Germany. He is dual national, I love Germany and Nürnberg but I miss my quiet alone time to stitch and watch floss tube. In US he was private pilot and bicyclist. Here we are together 24/7. I curled up in bed and watched you. Felt like I was listening to and old friend.💕💕
Hi Teresa, I would give you a reassuring hug right now if I could, because I’ve been where you are. My hubby has had 4 back surgeries and a hip surgery in the aftermath of a car accident. Totally relate to the worst patient scenario...and I have a bad back and knee from a car accident. We are both in our 50’s, but his back surgeries started 15 years ago, the last one being last year. Long, tough road. The hubby thought it was a great idea to try to do everything himself after his spine was fused. Worst idea ever. It resulted in him needing another surgery, because he wasn’t resting as much as he should have, so his fusion didn’t heal properly. Your husband would benefit from reframing his current state of mind to that of someone that realizes he will be better off following medical advice and realizing his world won’t end if he’s down for a few weeks, which may very well saving him from backsliding, due to sabotaging his healing from lack of participation in his own healing! Trust me on this. Been there, done that. Also, want to tell you a close friend of mind had her first hip replacement at the age of 35. Had a re-do at 55. She is exceptionally athletic, and still rock climbs, ice climbs, skis, and mountain bikes...all this still happening at the tender age of 59. You’ve got this!😊 And lastly, your chatelaine is looking stunning. You take care of you too, because you can’t continue this way forever. Don’t be afraid to set borders and boundaries with him regarding this. I had to during those times. He wasn’t the only one hurting, even though at times he acted like it. That said, if Darren is still being a pill and is still running you ragged, you can return the favor if you have hip surgery, And when you both heal from your respective lower limb issues, you can go play on the roof and get that beautiful loft built!
Thank you for your message and I can only imagine how tough things must be for you and your husbands. Makes mine sound like nothing lol! I wish you both well and that hubby is recovering as best he can now. Make sure you take time for yourself too :). I have decided to take the injection route for now and see if it gives me another 6-12 months to get hubby back on his feet and fingers crossed through some of this covid stuff before I go for the hip replacement. I am going to try everything else first lol. fingers crossed it will give me a little more time at least. Happy stitching 😉
Sorry to hear about your remodeling and hubby. I love the Evening In The Park. It's a stunner. Kinda insensitive I guess but I'm enjoying the story. I'm designing a Lantana piece illustrating the stages from bud to all the different color changes it goes through and finally the fruit which looks like black berries and listening.
Sorry to hear you are managing a tough but lovable patient. They tend to think the world is ending when they are sick or hurt. :) Keep care of your hip and tell him to get his own bits and pieces now and then. :)
Bless you Teresa it's horrible when your in constant pain, I have fibromyalgia and like you I don't get a rest from pain but us women are made of tuff stuff 😀. Wishing you and your husband best wishes for your health and when you have your hip done remember how he made you run around and you get pay back 😄. Take care xx
Oh dear! What a week! I’m sorry everything is all upended. I hope your husband heals quickly and the news about your hip is positive. If it isn’t we’ll be here to support you through it! 😘
Ur beading so easy and fast. Haven't tried beading but thinking of trying it. At least u showed me that it'll be easy.. thank u for sharing.... will wait for more updates on your work... God bless
I'm glad to hear I am not the only one who doesn't have patients for a sick hubby. Keeping you in my thoughts. Love the work you have done on your project.
He just might be on crutches for more than six weeks because he is not listening. When I broke my foot, that was the case. I was in an air cast and because I didn't listen and the healing process took longer (2 and a half months later), my doctor threatened to cast it if I continued to not rest it. But, Theresa, you are so sweet. I hope the injections work for you. I was stitching my Halloween piece while you were chatting with us. I could have listened all day! You have so much love in your heart 💖
I really enjoyed watching you this evening. I was working on the preparation for a project while listening and watching you bead. Prayers for swift healing for your hubby. And prayers for your healing as well. Please make sure you take care and not over do to much while taking care of hubby. Hugs from Texas
Bless you, what a dreadful week! I'm not an "old" person either, but had a knee replacement last year at 53 and it was the best thing I ever did. Take care x
Warm fuzzy thoughts on your hip issues - I completely get it. I've got hip dysplasia - two big surgeries so far, need bilateral hip replacement, and I'm barely in my 40s. Even on a good day, the pain is this constant background irritation. But my dad just had his hip replaced and he says it's A WORLD better! Hang in there!
Teresa you have the patience of a saint. My Mum had a hip replacement at 54 she was home from hospital quite fast and then determined to walk again. Hips can be very sore thinking of you.
I can so relate to how you feel...my husband isn't a good patient either 😂😳😂 Your stitching is beautiful as always and your Chatelaine is exquisite!! Try not to fret about a hip replacement (I know that is easier said than done). When I had my total knee replacement, one of my nurses had just recovered from a hip replacement and she said the recovery was much easier than a total knee replacement. My stepmother was 75 when she had her hip replacement and she recovered quickly from hers as well. My guess is it will be much easier than your previous hip surgery. My Thoughts and Prayers are sent across the miles.💜
Yikes, I'm so sorry to hear all that is going on with you and your husband. Every single person I know who had a hip replacement did well, and recovered quickly. I hope you do the same. As for your husband? You are spot on when you said a break is better than tendon damage. This will pass. It's no fun while you're living through it, but chalk it up to another 2020 challenge. 2021 will be better.
I loved listening to you talk while beading. I have been waiting for my first chatelaine kit to arrive, and everyone told me that I had to watch you! (Paris Mandala). I totally understand what you are going through, and yes, you just need to talk it through sometimes. My hubby and 3 of my kids have covid, and have been quarantining for the past 2 weeks. They are finally out tomorrow. That being said, my youngest daughter and I are exhausted from doing all of the cleaning, doggy duty, meals, and running trays & water bottles up/down the stairs.
I enjoyed stitching with you. I’m in my mid 50’s and had both knees and one hip all complete replacements in one year. FYI in the states if you have a steroid injection in your hip they will have to wait 6 months before they can do surgery. One good thing about your age is that recovery is a lot easier. Saying a prayer for you and Darren.
Oh my goodness!!! I relaxed, stitched, and laughed!!! I am so sorry for your week and hubby, but is was great entertainment for me!! I am an ER nurse here in the states and could see what was happening before each step you told us! He needs to be careful with all his carting around. He better not miss a dose of blood thinners.... you don't want one to break loose and go to his lungs, heart, or brain!! Loads of prayers girl!!!
I'm sorry things are so tough at the moment 🙁 I was really worried about what a hip replacement would be like but it turned out to be a blessing! So much pain relief & easy recovery. Best wishes for healing for you and your hubby! Your beading and stitching are both so pretty, thank you for sharing
Glad to hear you had the house to yourself. It’s lovely when I have the house to myself No Husband😊. Men will be men😍. Love to watch you .your stitching is so beautifully done. 🙏🏽 stay safe. .
I absolutely love this design but don't see it around too much... I have it and will probably start it one day - seeing yours has made me want to start it sooner rather than later. Sorry to hear that hubby has spoilt your plans with the loft conversion.... hope your got to enjoy your Sunday in the garden... take care, happy stitching
Teresa, I feel your pain. I was scared to death to have a hip replacement and put it off until I could no longer walk! Had it done and was pleasantly surprised no pain post op and wished I had done it sooner. Take care and wish you all the very best🦋
I think men everywhere are the same. The more independent that are the bigger the baby they are when hurt. Also i faced the same two options you have for your hip, i chose the shots for two years and then the replacement. Once that was done i was so mad with myself for just not getting it done first. The shots only last so long then the pain comes back with a vengence. Good luck on being home with the "invalid". Lol
Hello Ms teresa, I am trying to find a pattern and I think you may have been working on it, its a owl 🦉 pattern and I think its called stormy owl? I am not sure, but anyway I am going crazy 😜 looking for it, and I could have the wrong stitcher, I've watch so many videos, but you and carolyn are my favorites to watch. Thank you for your time.have a blessed day Catherine
Hey Catherine, Yes that was me! I UFO'd as I didn't like the look of it in tent stitch. I did say I would start it again in full cross - another thing on my list. It was a design by Kritter Valley from HAED heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=160_475&products_id=9514 there is a sale on I think until end of today :)
Oh my gosh, for a moment I thought this was a new flosstube! I keep looking! Can't wait for your next flosstube and an update on your husband (and you, of course!) ♥️
Hang in there!! And remember..you will need him when you have surgery. Total hip replacements are no "walk in the park" (I had one 12 years ago) but surely he will know it is his turn to "step up". Just love him!! Good luck and keep us posted!!
This is the second time you have had a Stitch With We video on this project at the same time I am about to start the same steps (Algerian Eyelets and Beading). Your videos have been so helpful. I don’t fear these steps after watching you do yours. I too had up surgery a few years ago and the pain is returning. If they said I needed a hip replacement, I would probably get it done sooner rather than later because the pain is no fun!. The timing does stink though. I hope all works out better than expected for you and Darren.
Oh! He sounds just like my late hubby was.i totally understand ♥️♥️♥️. I'm surprised they didn't send him home with a paper, explained that the foot needs to be properly elevated??? Hummmmmm🤭🤭🤭🤭. No wonder ur hurting, doing things for him......sounds like you both could have a long haul ahead????
I had my right hip replaced when I was just fifty. The surgery was a breeze and the recovery was easier than expected! The pain of surgery wasn’t nearly as bad as the pain with the faulty hip before the surgery. I should have done it much sooner. It’s been 16 years and I’m still good! Go for it!
Yes it's a man thing no mater where you live. Just spread your positive energy around you and it's going to work out for all of you. Your beading is absolutly gorgeous.
I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this at once. That just seems to be the way the universe works. Big hug to you! You're chatatelan is so beautiful. Definitely a piece worth waiting for. Stay well.
Oooph, babe. That sucks. I'm sure you can get through it - but make sure you're giving yourself loads of rest too! Maybe you can ask your manager for an hour a week off to just have a mental break? It can be so stressful taking care of other people, especially when it feels like we aren't getting the respect or validation for all our hard work
Your husband sounds a lot like mine. He decided to build a pool house and I was his off sider. You know. Just grap the other end of this, pass me that. Last thing he told me to do was climb up there and push that bit of roofing into place. Just stand on the outside of the lifting cage. Down I went. Shattered my ankle.a handful of titanium rods and screws later and I'm told that I couldn't put any weight on it for 8 weeks. That happened Easter Day and my hubby is still being very accommodating. Now I just need the pool done for physio.
I really enjoyed this! Both the project and the long vent :) I knitted along with you too, something I haven't had time to do in awhile! Thank you, this was just the motivation that I needed.
Hi Teresa, I understand your pain regarding hubby and hip, I am a lot older than you and had terrible pain in my knees such that I couldn't walk or sleep, then I had both knees replaced and you wouodn't credit the relief, full movement and no pain. But would you believe it i now have a back problem and severe hip pain, Oh well thank goodness for my garden and stitching , and your videos of course. hahaa.
Teresa I was 46 when I had my first knee replacement. The doctor didn’t want to do it because I was so young. So the year before he “surgically broke” my right leg and I had an external bracket to straighten your leg. I had gone slightly bow legged. It did help with the pain in my right leg but it caused my left leg to have to gave a knee replacement. The right replacement happened 5 years later Men make the worst patients. I’m surprised he wasn’t told to stay off his leg.
Did you buy the silk threads that went with the project on 123 stitch? I was wondering can we use dmc floss instead. That's really to expensive for me to buy all that silk thread and beads? Any suggestions?
Oh your chatelaine is so beautiful. I do feel for you I’m not the best at being the nurse type. I don’t want to be waited on so I’m not good at providing it. Lol Hopefully all goes better 😘
Teresa my sister had both her hips replaced within 3 months of each other ,they are apparently easier to deal with .l had my knee replaced and it has been terrible . I understand about your pain .
Big prayes going your way....the weeks ahead well be a nightmare....get that shot for your hip and prepare for hip surgery in January....don't wait, it will start affecting your whole body....he did it at work, workmen comp pays for a nurse to come out (male) to help...it will help you make it through this.....Take care and be safe..
Enjoying a bit of stitching with you today on some of your past videos x. I love this design and the colours. I am so tempted to try one of these marvellous designs but the specialty stitches and tons of beading sounds like a full on relationship with this piece lol. (Would you recommend it?) Also really hoping you're on the mend now, hip issues so not fun! Take care :) x
Hey Carla thank you for hanging out with me and eitp! I totally recommend a chatelaine. They are so gorgeous and so refreshing to stitch on. With a little bit of beading and specialty stitches just makes it so interesting and a lot easier than you think, as you stitch the cross stitch first which leaves the gaps for the specialty stitches so they are easier to navigate too - I think you should jump right in and I’m sure you will be just as hooked as me lol 😂
Oh Teresa, what a week. Really sorry things have conspired against you and your loft coversion. I think possibly being a man he did not hear the order ,rest your leg. Make a flask / sandwiches for hubby and retreat to your study for your work day. Unfortunately active men need to be taught resilience, for your sanity if nothing else. I can honestly say they don't behave like that with us in hospital it's their poor wives than end up running ragged. Mine was the same. I hope your hip gives you some respite until you can have surgery ,you will be a new woman. Thank you for the stitch along ,I stitched while you chatted it was like being at a retreat. So relaxing. Stay safe and sane lovely lady.
So feel your pain, mine will be home in a week for two weeks off...ugh...lol. Men....and sorry to hear about your hip, I am 54 and the hips are going too, not nice aye?
Teresa, your 'me time' is sacred and nothing should interfere with it. You are probably aggravating your hip by doing all the extra stuff, so that needs to stop too. Your hubby will have to adjust! If he can go off and play with cars with his friends, then he can do more at home. Total hip surgery is a wonderful thing, take it from me. I had it done and so very thankful that the pain is gone and I could go and swim again. The fact that you are younger is good because you will heal faster. Housework can wait, trust me on that. You can always get someone to come in and help with that. Give yourself a break and get some rest!
I am really enjoying your videos. I subscribe to your channel now, and I’m beginning a massive HAED Thanks to your encouragement and your video series. One thing I had a question about was a scroll frame with a massive design. The piece of fabric I’m using will be 42 x 32. The design runs 36” wide. Do you use your scroll frames from millennium for something that wide? I didn’t see bars that length(42”) On their website. I wonder if you have a need for bars that wide and if you special order them or if you turn your scroll frame sideways to make it work.
Hi Debra, Thank you for your lovely message. I confess I have not had the need for scroll bars that size. That said I know that Omanik do very large scroll bars called Quantum frames. They are almost the same as needleneeds frames and the shipping time is much faster. Here is a link if you would like to check them out:- omanikfactory.com/product-category/quantum/quantum-frames-quantum-frames
Hi Wilma, This is a Chatelaine design. I got the chart from chatelaine.de/downloads/ocf-chat-043-myst-viii-evening-in-the-park/ But I buy the kit of silk threads and beads from The European cross stitch company:-european-crosstitch-company.myshopify.com/
Teresa Little Stitcher ha ha ha, how strange is that... do you think our hobby is more expensive or theirs? I would defo say theirs!! ❣️😂😂 that amused me, doesn’t take much these days Happy birthday sweetie for tomorrow, hope it’s a good one xx
this is so relaxing to watch while listening! For the materials used here, did you use the dmc conversion or the original called for threads which are all different brands?
Teresa Little Stitcher thank you! I’ve started to create a long list of future projects and this might jump to the top! Got to finish Celtic ladies first, I’m a 1 at a time stitcher!
I felt so bad for you as I listened to what you’ve been going through. I truly wish you both well as you get your hip and your husbands leg taken care of. I have a husband similar to yours..The other challenge is when they don’t tell you how sick they are for hours and then you find them unconscious on the floor. Ask me how I know this. Lol I’m just a bit older than you and have had back and degenerative joint issues way too young. Makes me wish I hadn’t put off so many trips and experiences for when we were empty nesters. I now say live as much as you can at every age because you just don’t know what the future brings. I’m new to your channel but I’ve enjoyed so much getting to know you a little each week through your videos. You are like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. I watched your video on the necessaire frame and was fortunate to see a used one to buy soon after. It has been a game changer for me so very thankful for your video. I also loved your fun video of trip to Arizona (where I’m from) and your discovery of coffee cake. I thought the same thing the first time I was offered coffee cake. Lol Take good care of yourself Teresa, I’ll be sending prayers and good wishes to you from across the pond. Diane
Feel better? I know I do when I go on a rant. But I think I can top your hubby. Try an EX-hubby for two weeks post prostate surgery. If I hadn't felt so bad for him (he's barely ever had two cavities, he's so healthy) it could have gone a whole other way!! LOLOL But when he was up and about, finished with the home care nurse, making himself snacks, and generally getting in the way, I was quick to suggest his plants at his place might need watering. Real subtle, huh? Ah life! It sure hands you some doozies, doesn't it?? Teresa, that piece is absolutely beautiful!! Your beading is so tidy. I've never done beading, but will sometime. I just love watching you stitch. Sure hope you're able to get that hip replacement soon. Anyone I've ever talked to about it, says post-op is a breeze. It's just the initial fear that's not nice. Hope your hubby is better soon and maybe you'll get your loft conversion next spring??? Have a great week and virtual hugs from Canada.
My husband is the same way .. the WORST patient ever !! It’s a man thing 😂😂. I love your bead work .. I want to know though how do you not damage your beads when you roll up your work on your omanik frames ? I have poison garden and I so want to bead as I go but I am afraid to roll it up and damage the beads.
Thank you for sharing this. I’m stitching and listening and laughing and watching you bead. My husband was also sick in Sept. and it’s been tough. Never thought I’d have a 6’4 infant on my hands, but there it is. This confounding gentleman has had FOUR neurosurgeries for a pesky but non malignant tumour, but it turns out it’s actually injuring your rotator cuff and being in a sling that is more traumatic, who knew??? I hope your lovely guy is now healed and knitted and back at it, I feel you and totally sympathise! ❤️❤️
Hi Beverley! It is called a Bob Tack. it is like a little cd case which is sticky on both sides :) Lakeside needlecrafts sell them here is a link:-www.lakesideneedlecraft.co.uk/tacky-bob-bead-holder---circles-on-white-45748-p.asp
Oh dear, sorry to hear you’ve had a stressful time! Men! I am so desperate to start a chatelaine now. I may need to sell a kidney first. I may put away a little fund.
Hi Teresa, G-d bless you, you’ve had a very stressful week. What is the name of the bead holder that you’re using? You’re in my prayers, you need some rest from your hips.
Hi Beverley there is nothing special about the thread I use. I get mine from Amazon here is a link if it helps www.amazon.co.uk/200m-Clear-Nylon-Invisible-Thread/dp/B003TL8C6Q/ref=sr_1_9?crid=E09MMW0A9JLS&dchild=1&keywords=invisible+thread&qid=1608363775&sprefix=invisible+thread%2Caps%2C157&sr=8-9
Your piece is coming along beautifully. Sucks about your husband's leg. Hope he gets better, and if he's still moaning and whinning threaten to break his other one so he can have a matching set.
Hi Teresa sorry to hear about your last couple of weeks but as always you're having a laugh about it. You're stitching is beautiful and having watched you bead have picked up another couple of tips see you help without realising. Take care honey and look after yourself xx

Enjoyed stitching 🧵 with you today have a great evening and happy stitching 🧵😊❤️🤗
Glad to hear you had the house to yourself. It’s lovely when I have the house to myself No Husband😊. Men will be men😍. Love to watch you .your stitching is so beautifully done. 🙏🏽 stay safe.
.
Your stitching is beautiful 😍❤💕💖
Thank you! 😊
Your beading is so beautiful. Prayers for your husband and yourself. Get that hip replaced. You will feel so much better. Take it easy.
It was a design by Kritter Valley from HAED heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=160_475&products_id=9514
there is a sale on I think until end of today :)
Gee i hope you both feel better!!! Excellent beading!!
Haaa men... there are all the same... all the best and it’s good that you took some time for yourself...😘😘😘
Evening in the park is looking great......o bless you ...things can only get better .......x
Your Chatelaine is gorgeous. It is so soothing to watch you work on it. Sending good thoughts your way for your husband and your hip.
love your chateline its beautiful hope your hubby is on the mend soon hope your mums ok
Good luck and keep us posted!!
thanks fo your video. Hope you and your hubby feeling better soon.
Totally feel where you’re coming from! Both with the hubby and with the hip. Enjoyed stitching while you did your beading💕 and it looks so lovely!!
Hi I know what the pain you are in I have a bad leg the pain is so bad so I know what you are going through!
Hope you feel better!
Take care!
Hey Teresa, totally understand where you are coming from. Sick or injured husbands are the worst.... love your Chatelaine
I really enjoyed this! Both the project and the long vent :) I knitted along with you too, something I haven't had time to do in awhile! Thank you, this was just the motivation that I needed.
You poor girl! Take care of yourself and hubby!
The right replacement happened 5 years later
Men make the worst patients.
Keep your chin up and smile x
Love to do this one
Teresa Little Stitcher thanks! It’s an adventure, and I’m taking your advice to test and research.
I like your pattern, where did u bought it? Thanks
Is he into rc cars...omg my hubby is the same
Strange we stitch and they have same hobbies too lol x
lol! Yes he is very into his RC racing lol
Teresa Little Stitcher ha ha ha, how strange is that...
do you think our hobby is more expensive or theirs?
I would defo say theirs!! ❣️😂😂
that amused me, doesn’t take much these days
Happy birthday sweetie for tomorrow, hope it’s a good one xx
💜💜💜
this is so relaxing to watch while listening! For the materials used here, did you use the dmc conversion or the original called for threads which are all different brands?
Thank you Tanvi. I used the silk threads for this one :)
You must be a saint to take on the caring of an EX-hubby! Mine has been threatened to become and EX if he doesn't learn to be a better patient lol
Hey Brandy, I some felt material and lay it inbetween before I roll and then it separate and gives padding so you can roll away :)
Do you have any instructional videos on beading? I would be interested if not - thanks!!
Hi Annie, yes I did a video on how I bead with the invisible thread which may help here is the link:-ruclips.net/video/nk45b8d96GI/видео.html
wishing your family well & hope you get more time to do the things you enjoy 😉
What brand color and cloth is this please
Could you please let me know what fabric and colour you are using thank you
This is a fabric by Fabric's by Stephanie in colourway Abyss. But i think she has discontinued this colour now.
I hope you have enjoyed your Me-time.
Teresa this is so stunning ! What are you using to hold your beads on please ?
Hi Beverley! It is called a Bob Tack. it is like a little cd case which is sticky on both sides :) Lakeside needlecrafts sell them here is a link:-www.lakesideneedlecraft.co.uk/tacky-bob-bead-holder---circles-on-white-45748-p.asp
Teresa Little Stitcher Thankyou .😘
Oh dear, sorry to hear you’ve had a stressful time! Men! I am so desperate to start a chatelaine now. I may need to sell a kidney first. I may put away a little fund.
What fabric are you using for this?
hand dyed fabric by Stephanie in colourway abyss
Hi Teresa, G-d bless you, you’ve had a very stressful week. What is the name of the bead holder that you’re using? You’re in my prayers, you need some rest from your hips.
Thank you Cheryl :) The beading holder is called a Bob Tack. It is like a CD case with sticky on both sides.

@@judyrosy thank you 😊 G-d bless you. I added this item to a list as it is out of stock at the moment.
Hi Teresa ,what is the name of your invisible thread please ?😍
Hi Beverley there is nothing special about the thread I use. I get mine from Amazon here is a link if it helps www.amazon.co.uk/200m-Clear-Nylon-Invisible-Thread/dp/B003TL8C6Q/ref=sr_1_9?crid=E09MMW0A9JLS&dchild=1&keywords=invisible+thread&qid=1608363775&sprefix=invisible+thread%2Caps%2C157&sr=8-9
So it’s not just my American husband who “demands” when he gets a splinter?
Your piece is coming along beautifully. Sucks about your husband's leg. Hope he gets better, and if he's still moaning and whinning threaten to break his other one so he can have a matching set.
😂
So glad that we American women are not the only ones who have whining men in their lives. Good luck on your hip and dealing with your husband.
It sounds to me that your do plenty for your husband. He wearing you out in one weekend. They really like to milk their injury’s.
