That seems like a smart thing to say until you're 16 and them you realise that reality is far more complex, that having difference of opinion is not dividing us and that that following schools of thought made by scholars of much more ilm than us who had the chance to unify Muslims under one school of thought but didn't show that what you call division is actually the beauty of Islam that there is no one true path but multiple true paths and you can choose to follow any of them as long as they are internally consistent, don't contradict the Qur'an or sahih hadith. I don't really believe that sufism is a separate branch of Islam. I am a Sunni sufi and I don't see sufism as a different branch. I mean, I pray and do everything that is Sunni, and spend the rest of the day doing Dhikr and meditation. Sufism adds a more profound connection to the metaphysical world. We don't care about money, ownership, or any material thing as much as we dedicate our lives and our works for God. In a nutshell, we sufis just want to pray more in order to spend more time with our Lord. Sufism is about an abundant love.

The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said that his Ummah will divide into 73 sects, but only one of them will enter the Jannah(paradise)and the rest(72) in HellFire. Now, all Muslims sects/school of thoughts/ denominations, all of them have their differences but they all combine their forces to oppose/persecute only one sect among them: The Ahmadi Movement. The only one sect that has a stable leader(imam) and a standard school of thought, throughout the entire community in more that 200 countries worldwide, in light of the Holy Quran and blessed teachings of the Holy Prophet (pbuh). It's a simple maths. 72 against 1. Also... If you google or research the fastest growing religion, it is indeed Islam right now. When you search which sect within Islam is growing at the fastest rate it is the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association. So, draw your own conclusion with proper reasoning my beloved brothers and sisters. Not only that, but most videos I've watched only talk about Sunnis or Shias, and not about the other ones, which I find really interesting!!! @Shaurya Joshi ibadi differences are minor. They are muslims. Out of all the islamic sects, the ibadis have the smallest of a different thought. And they call for no seperation and for unity. Something for thought. There are hadiths about the bad khawarij and about the good khawarej. But come about in different times in the future. Many muslims dont know this. There is 3 MAJOR sects in islam. IBADI, SUNNI and SHIA. But this has been suppressed by the saudi sunnis for over 250years. They also make up the majority muslims in oman. Over 95%.

However to say they are Muslim based on the groups beliefs goes against basic articles of faith (aqeedah), articles of faith which no other sect have even if I don't agree with them (other sects) they are still Muslim. Articles of faith which are for anybody who wants to call themselves a Muslim, myself included. I am not talking about individual persons who did not investigate their religion but the groups beliefs in general especially those who believe after researching their faith and having known those articles of faith. I am a born and raised European and I stand by what I say, and I say it openly. The seal and last of Prophet’s ﷺ according to the Quran surah al Ahzaab, verse 40, the Prophet ﷺ is Khataman Nabiyyeen and according to another reading, Khatamin Nabiyyeen, one meaning seal and the other literally last. This is a verse of the Quran that is explicitly broken by Ahmadiyyas by their belief in Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as a prophet.

Sufism isn't a separate faction or division distinct from Sunni, Shia, Ibadi etc. I am Sunni and I also follow the Sufi ideology. There are Sufi teachings in Shiites too. Rather Sufism and Salafism are two different ideologies. And Allah knows best.
In Islam we don't need any category like, Shia, Suni, I don't know Fumi etc,. You Believe and practice the commandment of Allah through the teaching of prophet Muhammad Pbuh. They select names to present there family way of worshiping Allah but a Muslim is a Muslim only no Shia,Suni,or Fumi.

Just to clarify - the Khawarij (or Kharijites as you described) were the equivalent of ISIS. They were not a tolerant group. They were religious fanatics and zealots that said anyone who commits a major sin is a disbeliever, they killed Ali ra and they tried to assassinate other caliphas, and they called many sahaba (companions of Prophet Muhammad pbuh) disbelievers and no sahabi was among them. These are well known facts.

Just to clarify, Abu Bakr was voted in as khalifa shortly after the Prophet's (pbuh) death. Not years. And there was not much debate at the time as he was the best of the Muslims and Ali followed him.

why not? Actually, what many people misunderstand is that the Ahmadis DO believe that the Holy Prophet (saw) was the last Prophet to bring a new religion. He was the Seal of the Prophets, who brought a new religion (the Islam) with a new holy book, the Holy Quran. The only reason the Promised Messiah (as) is called a prophet is because he (as) brought back the exact message that the Holy Prophet (saw) brought 1400 years ago, since - at that time - there were 72 different branches of Islam. He (as) basically refreshed what the actual Islam meant and thus formed this community. This is what the promised Messiah was supposed to do according to the Holy Prophet (saw).

sufi is more of a sub-branch in the sunni branch. its kinda wierd that most people think it is a full on branch & forget the third major branch ibadi instead mentioning sub-branches. at least your rembered ibadi. ibadi also has nine pillars.
The question that arises is how the Prophet Muhammad may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, who is the most knowledgeable of the people ,how he did not appoint a successor for the Muslims after him? Knowing that people have asked him even about how to enter the bathroom, and how to perform ablution many many times , so how can they not ask him about the fate of Muslims after his death? the answer is that they asked him and of course it is impossible that the prophet would leave such an important decision which is who will be the successor of the Muslims after him to the people, but rather appointed Imam Ali who is his cousin, and his daughter’s husband the Lady of the Women of Paradise (Lady Fatima al-Zahra). The evidence is what happened in Ghadeer Khum when the Prophet raised the hand of Imam Ali and said:any one whom iam his leader then Ali is his leader, ((((Allah is my leader (mawla) and I am the leader (mawla) of the faithful and I have superior right on and control over their lives, and Ali is the mawla of those of whom I am mawla, he said it three times ,The Holy Prophet then continued to say: “O’ God, love those who love him, and be hostile to those who are hostile to him”. Once the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his household) completed his speech this verse of the Holy Quran was revealed to him,{Today I have perfected your religion and completed my favor upon you, and I am satisfied that Islam be your religion})))). ■Now as for the Sunnis, they follow people who did not follow the commandment of the Prophet Muhammad may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, and they distinguished between Muslims. Some of the Muslim didnot accept this matter and followed Imam Ali and his family(Shia), and some of them followed Omar and Abu Bakr (Sunni)who didn't follow the Prophet’s commandment. ***Evil Is With Those Who Will Extinguish The Light Of Truth ***

I don't really believe that sufism is a separate branch of Islam. I am a Sunni sufi and I don't see sufism as a different branch. I mean, I pray and do everything that is Sunni, and spend the rest of the day doing Dhikr and meditation. Sufism adds a more profound connection to the metaphysical world. We don't care about money, ownership, or any material thing as much as we dedicate our lives and our works for God.
In a nutshell, we sufis just want to pray more in order to spend more time with our Lord. Sufism is about an abundant love.

Also... If you google or research the fastest growing religion, it is indeed Islam right now. When you search which sect within Islam is growing at the fastest rate it is the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association.

However to say they are Muslim based on the groups beliefs goes against basic articles of faith (aqeedah), articles of faith which no other sect have even if I don't agree with them (other sects) they are still Muslim. Just to clarify - the Khawarij (or Kharijites as you described) were the equivalent of ISIS. They were not a tolerant group. They were religious fanatics and zealots that said anyone who commits a major sin is a disbeliever, they killed Ali ra and they tried to assassinate other caliphas, and they called many sahaba (companions of Prophet Muhammad pbuh) disbelievers and no sahabi was among them. These are well known facts.

Just to clarify, Abu Bakr was voted in as khalifa shortly after the Prophet's (pbuh) death. Not years. And there was not much debate at the time as he was the best of the Muslims and Ali followed him.

why not? Actually, what many people misunderstand is that the Ahmadis DO believe that the Holy Prophet (saw) was the last Prophet to bring a new religion. He was the Seal of the Prophets, who brought a new religion (the Islam) with a new holy book, the Holy Quran. The only reason the Promised Messiah (as) is called a prophet is because he (as) brought back the exact message that the Holy Prophet (saw) brought 1400 years ago, since - at that time - there were 72 different branches of Islam. He (as) basically refreshed what the actual Islam meant and thus formed this community. This is what the promised Messiah was supposed to do according to the Holy Prophet (saw).

The question that arises is how the Prophet Muhammad may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, who is the most knowledgeable of the people ,how he did not appoint a successor for the Muslims after him? Knowing that people have asked him even about how to enter the bathroom, and how to perform ablution many many times , so how can they not ask him about the fate of Muslims after his death? the answer is that they asked him and of course it is impossible that the prophet would leave such an important decision which is who will be the successor of the Muslims after him to the people, but rather appointed Imam Ali who is his cousin, and his daughter’s husband the Lady of the Women of Paradise (Lady Fatima al-Zahra). The evidence is what happened in Ghadeer Khum when the Prophet raised the hand of Imam Ali and said:any one whom iam his leader then Ali is his leader, ((((Allah is my leader (mawla) and I am the leader (mawla) of the faithful and I have superior right on and control over their lives, and Ali is the mawla of those of whom I am mawla, he said it three times ,The Holy Prophet then continued to say: “O’ God, love those who love him, and be hostile to those who are hostile to him”. Once the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his household) completed his speech this verse of the Holy Quran was revealed to him,{Today I have perfected your religion and completed my favor upon you, and I am satisfied that Islam be your religion})))).
■Now as for the Sunnis, they follow people who did not follow the commandment of the Prophet Muhammad may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, and they distinguished between Muslims. Some of the Muslim didnot accept this matter and followed Imam Ali and his family(Shia), and some of them followed Omar and Abu Bakr (Sunni)who didn't follow the Prophet’s commandment.
