I raced against the up and coming Chuck Sun in Washougal Wa. in 74 or 75...as an amateur...he won...lol...I believe he raced for Honda and Husqvarna as well...the early days of US Motocross were the glory days...loved the sound the two strokes and the smell of bean oil burning...it was a day when the little everyday guy could afford to buy a bike leathers thrown a paper plate with a number on it, onto your bike and race on the weekends...its too corporate nowadays...and no offense to four stroke people...but the sounds of today bikes, farting around a track is boring

Totally cool with everything you stated in your comment. I to was, as my dad as well, involved in those early days of motocross 1970 to 1978 and what special exciting time it was. Miss those days immensely but so glad I was part of it. And yes modern four strokes sound like pigs farting

My memories are dull, but I think I remember racing with Chuck Sun in the junior class at Grande Ronde, Oregon in 1972.

I think Chuck took a bad fall at Washougal on the big downhill. if I remember right. they even nick named the hill after Chuck Sun.
