    Hi there thank you for this information. But what is the difference between astigmatism and convergence. All my life have battled with reading that when someone tells me I need to read more I just want to punch their lights out. Sometimes I can read a page and sometimes I can only read a line or two before falling asleep, I literally have to pace to stay awake and then I will need to read over some information or text several times to retain it. I have been wearing glasses for about thirty years, but I feel that my eyes are worse because of it (probably not). Why has no one ever mentioned this condition before. Where to from here?

      Convergence insufficiency doesn't really affect how lights look. I have it and lights look normal to me.

    I must have something like this. Whenever I look at white text on a black background some of the text gets blurry or pixalated and sorta jiggle. This does not happen if I cover one eye. I also see the white blood cells in my eyes if I look at something white. Also if I look at something with a fine pattern like a carpet I see static over it, strangly enough, unlike the first thing I mentioned; the static gets amplified if I cover one eye...

    Is it convergence insufficiency when the prism is 30 at near and 5 for far? Or is that convergence excess

    • @visontherapy
      @visontherapy  3 месяца назад

      Hi Mia, This Depends. What’s the prism orientation? BO (base out) prism 30 near and 5 distance is convergence excess or esotropia. BI (base in) prism 30 near and 5 distance would be possibly convergence insufficiency but technically it could be exotropia also

    Is if someone has convergence insufficiency,does that mean that they eyes tend to want to more outward, like a strabismus?

      Outward strabismus or exotropia is often associated with convergence insufficiency.

      Hi Siam there are a variety of reasons why this could be and thus it is not possible to tell you anything meaningful on here.
      The best thing to do is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Julie to discuss what is going on so she can evaluate your experience more clearly and help you make the determination of what to do next.

    Good day. I was wondering if there is a treatment for congenital strabismus which has caused amblyopia. I have never had binocular vision as my brain has compensated since birth. Any information would be helpful.
    I will be in the US for my higher studies and have decided to postpone any treatment (they've prescribed prism glasses) until then.

    • @visontherapy
      @visontherapy  3 года назад

      Yes. Vision therapy and Syntonics can help us train adults how to gain binocularity at any age.

    I have a question, can convergence insufficiency make it difficult to type (while looking) at a keyboard. I am seeing double letters when I type on the keyboard, and it's very hard to type while looking. It's so hard that even this post I have written is while touch typing (and I have never touch typed in my life in 20 years....until now). I am visiting an orthoptist for eye muscle problems, but I just wanted to know if convergence problems can make it difficult to type while looking at the keyboard?
    I was diagnosed with decompensating exophoria by an opthamologist at the western eye hospital in london, and he noted a small alternating exotropia on the cover/uncover test.

    • @visontherapy
      @visontherapy  3 года назад

      @@visontherapy I see, well at least I learnt to touch type. Thank you for the reply either way. I kind of miss typing the normal way, my brain sort of compensated for my disability by making me learn (quickly) how to touch type and even touch text.

    What would be if I have been cleared by multiple ophthalmologist and a retina specialist that my eyes are fine but couple days ago I been noticing words, objects or patterns after focusing on them they seem to vibrate or jiggle or move when they’re not. I have high anxiety with my eyes right now with vision snow, light sensitivity, and halos around lights, just wondering if this is this or another anxiety symptom

      Well apparently you feel there is something wrong. So perhaps trust your judgment as it is your experience afterall. Now those people say ther is nothing wrong because they aren’t trained to look at it from the angle I look at it through and from my perspective it could easily be nystagmus or convergence insufficiency for starters.

    How necessary is it to do something about this problem? I feel like it does not influence me that badly because I have learned to live with it. Will there be more problems when I get older?

      Typically yes, some you may not even realize. It is best to re-train your brain as soon as possible.

    Hi doc is rhis convergence insufficiency?my vision can only focus in one thing and the background of that thing become become double vision?

    • @visontherapy
      @visontherapy  7 месяцев назад

      It’s possible, but it could also be other visual conditions. It’s hard to say without a consultation with you to know for certain. What you’re describing though is that you are aware of something called physiological diplopia where when you focus on one object it’s clear but you’re aware of the fact that the background is double behind it. This can also be completely normal.
